Location: Situated inside Chongqing's landmark 'Grand Sail' building, directly above Raffles City and with direct metro access. Within walking distance to Chaotianmen, Hongyadong, Jiefangbei, and the pier. There are three hotels in the 'Sail' building: InterContinental Raffles City, Hotel Indigo, and Ascott. Ascott is wholly owned by CapitaLand, the developer of Raffles City, so its quality is undoubtedly top-notch.
Facilities: Positioned as a serviced apartment, the public areas are compact yet comfortable and practical. The lobby offers complimentary tea and fresh flowers. A significant portion of the public space is dedicated to guests. The gym is well-equipped with at least two treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, as well as a full set of resistance machines. There's also a yoga room with river views, comparable to a small commercial gym. It provides hot/cold water, sanitizing wipes, towels, and even headphones with sterilized covers. The swimming pool was closed during our two-day stay, so we hope to check it out next time.
Below the hotel is Raffles City's urban garden, leading directly to a river-view platform – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle.
Room: We were fortunate to be upgraded to a two-bedroom suite, so spacious it was astounding. It features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a bathtub in the master. It includes a washer and dryer, perfect for families. The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and range hood. A complete set of dishes and cookware is provided. The facilities are excellently maintained; the microwave and oven looked almost unused.
The room offers a pillow menu and abundant storage space.
Due to its unique location, Ascott's rooms offer either unbeatable river views, stunning city views, or like ours, views of both.
Service: Special thanks to Miss Genny at the front desk, who was incredibly patient during our check-in, attentively asked about our needs, and efficiently arranged our room. We arrived early, intending only to store our luggage, but to our surprise, we received our room key immediately. We are very grateful.
All hotel staff were exceptionally proactive, friendly, and helpful – carrying luggage, greeting us upon sight, making us feel right at home. The staff member on the ground floor was also wonderful, assisting with getting in and out of cars/moving luggage and patiently giving directions.

This hotel is located right across from Bayi Square and is also close to the subway. Stepping out, you're on Bayi Road Food Street, where you can find all sorts of local specialty snacks. The staff were very warm and attentive. When we arrived, they immediately offered us refreshing lemon and plum juice from the hotel's self-service, which was incredibly crisp and tasty. Housekeeping was prompt; they even helped us with laundry while we were out exploring. Food delivery riders can bring orders directly to your room. Honestly, if it's not too hot, a short walk will get you to a ton of great food options. You can easily walk to Jiefangbei and Hongyadong from here, and to get to Liziba, you can take Line 2. This is an older five-star hotel, and my stay was just average. They strictly enforce the 3 PM check-in time. We arrived in Chongqing in the morning and couldn't check in, so we stored our luggage and went out. We came back around 1 PM, asked the front desk, but still couldn't check in. They said our deluxe suite had a late checkout and housekeeping hadn't finished cleaning it. We had to wait until 3 PM, so we had no choice but to wait in the hotel lobby. It felt quite rigid, without consideration for basic guest needs. After we checked in, one of the two bathrooms in the suite had a broken overhead shower. There were no welcome fruits, and the hotel didn't have a room service robot, so we had to go downstairs ourselves to pick up our takeout, which was inconvenient. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. Everyone was so nice and kind. The service was top- notch. The amenities were plenty and easy accessible. A few extras that made everything worth it were the full- sized refrigerator, with freezer, the washing machine (for which they provided soap as well), dish washer, stove top, towel drier ( in the washroom) and full sized closet. The view was so beautiful and calming as well. Everything about this room was just so nice and exactly what I needed.
I didn’t realize how perfect the location was in relation to almost everything that I wanted to see. When I figured that out, I just got up every day and walked to everything that I needed or wanted to see. It was extremely close to a lot of restaurants, malls, local shops and smaller attractions. I was less than a 10 -15 minute walk to Raffles City Shopping Center where there is a 5 story mall, Movie theatre, roof top attraction with the swing, SKY WALK and also the river front park with amazing views. Same distance for Hongyadong, the viewing platform, the Qiansemen Bridge- if you wanted to walk across the bridge at night- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! There is so much to see and experience between the hotel and these attractions. Your days will be filled with fun and adventure.

Definitely not recommended on WARM DAYS because the hotel will turn off AC completely. I stayed at this hotel from 5/8 to 5/11, In-room HVAC only worked on daytime when outdoor temperature reached about 30 degrees, in room temperature was cooling down and comfortable enough. However, the hotel shut down AC system at night because outdoor temperature is not hot enough, that leading to in room temperature went back to 27 degrees, I got totally sleepless. Understood the hotel tried to save money on electricity, but AC system is the one of basic amenity systems and should not shut down the mostly of the days.
Moldy grout, moldy caulking are all around the shower, the picture attached. Non adjustable shower head with fixed holder need upgraded. That shows lack of the maintenance for rooms.
Room attendant provided great service she could and made me feel comfortable and welcome.

Every year, I make sure to visit Jinfo Mountain, and each time I stay at Tianxing Liangjiang. Previously, I mostly stayed in their family rooms, but this time, after the renovation, I opted for a deluxe standard room. Let's start with the positives: it offers great value for money. Post-renovation, the rooms feel more modern and incorporate some smart features. The twin beds are large enough, making it ideal for families with two children. Right outside, there's a shallow stream, which is incredibly convenient for kids to play in the water and then easily come back to the room to change and shower. Dining options are also plentiful, and it's very close to the West Slope cable car.
Now for the downsides, which are new issues that have emerged since the renovation. One thing is absolutely unbearable: did the designers ever stay in a hotel with their family? The motion sensor light at the entrance turns on every time someone walks by. At night, whether an adult or child needs to use the restroom, it inevitably lights up. This type of sensor light is only suitable for someone staying alone, but this is a holiday resort area where most visitors are families. It seriously disrupts sleep. Another issue is the shower/toilet partition being too small. While it makes the space appear larger, it's extremely awkward for family travel like ours. The shower and toilet are only separated from the main room by a glass door, so you can't even dare to turn on the lights. The shower stall itself is tiny; you can't hang clothes inside. If you put them outside and open the door, anyone in the room can see right in. It's ridiculous! When getting dressed after a shower, you have to open the glass door just a crack, sneak a hand out like a thief, quickly grab the clothes from the chair, and bring them in to get dressed.

I was on a business trip to Chongqing and had a friend book a popular influencer hotel for me. I couldn't stand it after one night. The Huabang Hotel, located within Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, was our chosen destination for a late-summer getaway with my parents before school started. With classes resuming soon, the hotel wasn't overly crowded, and the booking price was quite reasonable, offering excellent value for money.
**Environment:** This is one of the older hotels in Fairy Mountain, so the interior facilities in the rooms look a bit dated due to its age. However, the overall cleanliness is good, and the hotel is very quiet, making for a comfortable stay. Plus, the natural scenery around the hotel is fantastic, with attractions like Red Maple Stone Forest and grasslands. Guests staying at the hotel, as well as those from the adjacent Zhuoya Hotel, can access the vast grassland by swiping their room cards, which is very convenient.
**Dining:** Since we only stayed one night, we mainly experienced the breakfast. The variety of dishes was quite rich, and the noodles were particularly delicious.
**Service:** The staff were all very friendly and attentive to guests' needs, doing their best to accommodate requests. For our group of three, who booked a twin room, the front desk kindly arranged an extra breakfast portion for us.
**Suggestions for Improvement:**
When we went for breakfast and provided our room number, the staff checked and informed us that two people from our room number had already entered. This forced me to prove that we were indeed the legitimate guests of that room. The hotel could easily upgrade its system, perhaps by installing a machine to scan room cards for dining, which would avoid such awkward situations and simplify record-keeping. Also, we stayed in Building 1, and for some reason, possibly renovations, there was a knocking sound from construction work for both days we were there. Although they were careful with the timing, it was still a bit noisy for those who come to the mountain specifically to relax. The hotel might consider either not selling rooms in this building during the off-peak season to carry out renovations all at once or proactively inform guests about the times when construction noise might occur.
