Jetwing Mahesa Bhawan
5/525 Reviews
It’s a beautifully furnished villa in a quiet residential area that has only 4 bedrooms. Our stay felt like staying in our own luxury bungalow with full butler service and a fabulous in-house cook. There’s a full service kitchen and you can opt to have all your meals there. We discussed and our meals were customised for a full Jaffna Tamil culinary experience, with one meal that included the famous Jaffna crab curry. Breakfasts were also feasts of their own and we could hardly walk after stuffing ourselves. Our stay of two nights felt too short. Special thanks to team Juckshan, Janaka, Megala and Ramesh for an unforgettable stay!

For me, there was no other accommodation option other than Jetwing Jaffna! I stayed there in 2018 and came back for a family visit in 2023. Its location in the middle of the city makes it a no-brainer as the choice of accommodation. The breakfast spread was impressive (I loved the bacon and sausages and the paal appam - out of this world stuff!). Staff were friendly and courteous. The roof top bar and the scenery was something to look foreword to winding down the evenings. If ever I return to Jaffna in the future, there will be no other choice for me to stay , except at Jetwing Jaffna.

We felt like home from the moment we stepped into this beautiful 4 bedroom villa which has been tastefully decorated not disturbing it's old charm. Madhu was an excellent host and made our stay even more comfortable by attending to all our requirements. He was also helpful in giving us tips on the places to visit almost like a personal tour guide! We had the whole place to ourselves and having a pool was a bonus. Most importantly the food was exceptional! We got to try all the famous Jaffna curries and other local dishes. It is ideal for a group of friends or a family for a weekend getaway.
Fox Jaffna

This is one of the best options to stay in Jaffna. It’s not in the city centre, more on the outskirts of the city , there’s nothing around, so you basically plan your time in the resort. The hotel itself is nice , the rooms look a bit old but clean , there was no hot water in our room. The territory of the hotel is beautiful with the pool , restaurant, little museums to visit (ex bunkers). The food in the restaurant is yummy , the staff is friendly and polite, especially Scotty , he was very helpful and nice to us during our stay. Good experience at this hotel, just the water situation in the rooms should be improved.
Tilko City Hotel Jaffna
4.4/513 Reviews
When we arrived there was no welcome at all. We had to take our luggage by ourselves to the lobby. I chose Tilko as per the pictures on Booking.com but reality was totally different. Though I’ve informed them that it would be a couple they provided twin beds when we arrived after a long journey from Colombo though later on somebody came & fixed the bed. Room wasn’t cleaned and out of order. The towel had a foul smell. Kettle was broken and everything was full of rust in the bathroom (pictures attached). No bathroom amenities as shown in the pictures. AC had a horrible smell plus the room. There was no selection of foods for foreigners in buffet (only Indian food for breakfast) We didn’t have a choice but to eat whatever they had. During dinner we ordered for seafood fried rice with chilli prawns as a side dish. After sometime the waiter came & informed us that some of the dishes weren’t available including prawns though they’ve added some old prawns in the fried rice which was quite surprising. The food was not fresh at all. Everything was cold as if it was made long time ago. Balcony door couldn’t lock. Found insects in the room too. Even the swimming pool was discolored. Overall a horrible experience!! As a travel agent I was really disappointed with this experience. I would never recommend this place to tourists.
