Elite Stora Hotellet Örebro
3.8/575 Reviews
On arrival at the hotel, there is a loud party going on. No information about this to me in advance. Being offered a downgrade in another building is not an optimal solution. Thankfully, the room is well soundproofed. Prons Centrally located hotel Quick check-in. Nice receptionist. Soundproofed rooms. Well-kept Nice breakfast. Cons Lack of communication regarding the party. Downgrading of rooms as a solution to the party problem Worn rooms, broken armchair and stained curtains.
Hotel Örebro

Unfortunately, I cannot give a good rating for this hotel. On the one hand, the location of the hotel is central, but the direct neighbourhood does not necessarily invite you to go for a walk (late) in the evening. While the entrance area is friendly, clean and modern, the rest of the hotel is not. Paint is peeling everywhere, things are obviously broken, everywhere you look there is an urgent need for repair. Water is warm, suddenly it gets cold within seconds, then lukewarm again, then cold again, then hot. Annoying! Table tops are loose or only rest loosely on the table legs, cables stick out of the wall. The beds are completely worn out. It just makes a depressing impression. The structure of the building is nice, but it needs to be looked after and maintained, and that hasn't been done here for years. It wouldn't be so bad if the room rates were the same. But the rooms are quite expensive. The price-performance ratio is not right at all, completely overpriced for the condition offered. Wifi runs well and stable. I did not feel comfortable and therefore there will not be a return visit.
Livin Station Hotel

We stayed here for one night on a train trip from Stockholm to Gothenburg. Our train arrived about 1pm and it was easy to find the hotel (which is very near the station), but we were unaware that reception did not open until check in time at 3pm. The locker space at the train station was full and our suitcases were too big for the lockers in any event so we walked a couple of blocks into town (not far) with our luggage and had lunch. Örebro is a lovely town and it was easy to spend an afternoon here walking around the castle and down to Wadkoeping where they have preserved some of the town’s historic houses and which is in effect an open air museum of traditional Swedish life in the past. We returned to the hotel and checked in at 3pm which all went smoothly. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. Our room was cosy and tastefully decorated. We did not hear any train noise. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious with many choices and seemingly fresh ingredients. I would recommend this hotel on the proviso that you either arrive during check in hours or have a plan for your luggage whilst waiting for check in to open.
Scandic Örebro Central

We stayed here one night while we traveled between Småland and an area further up north. The hotel desk staff was so friendly. The rooms, while small as in all Scandic hotels, was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast there and the dinner menu was limited and actually my grandfather had a difficult time finding something suitable to eat. Breakfast was amazing though with a great variety and quantity of foods! Parking was easy and was in the lot next to the hotel. If traveling through the area, I would definitely recommend this hotel!

I had a very pleasant experience. I made my booking ”too late” for reception opening hours. There was a Phone number at the door to the nearest ”Sister hotel” who (200 km away) remotely let me in the building... They could not find my booking but after receiving photo screenshot of my booking they were able to remotely assign a room and activate a key-card (activator on table in lobby). It took about thirty confusing minutes on a noisy phone line - but I was given the room I booked even though I was the one who booked too late and arrived in the middle of the night. I even got free parking for my bus. Hotel was ”nice enough”. Room was rather small... and patrons next door was absolutely within hearing range.. But bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Price was affordable for ”drop-in”. Breakfast was quite good. I missed the fried eggs (only boiled and scrambled) but there was a lot of other nice foodstuff. Coffee came also in take-away cups which was great for my going on my way directly. 4/5 is ”normal +”. Not extraordinary but nothing to complain about.
Clarion Collection Hotel Borgen

This hotel is a gem. I had a wonderful room in a turret. It had a comfortable sofa where I could sit and read. There was also a little table with 270 deg views to look out over the city. It was great to have an iron and ironing board. My clothes were quite creased after several weeks of travel. It was a treat to have a wonderful buffet selection for breakfast and dinner. The staff gave loads of useful advice to enable me to make the most of my stay I liked the location of the hotel parking.
