UpValley Inn & Hot Springs, Ascend Hotel Collection

One of many hotel stays we’ve had the last 3 weeks (in Cali, Nevada, Utah and Arizona). Quality-price wise, this was the best we had. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. The extra’s like the hotspringpool/spa/saunas made our stay extra comfy. One of our most important points is service, and here it is fantastisch (dutch word)! Friendly, hardworking people, fresh towels and the housekeeping is there when you need something. Also the shuttle around the village and wineries is a great service, and making the road safer by preventing people to drive themselves. 10/10 would come again!
Calistoga Motor Lodge Spa, A Jdv by Hyatt Hotel
3.9/548 Reviews
Calistoga is spoiled for choice in the mid-range and we were excited to try another spot that had been recommended to us. We left with mixed emotions - on the one hand, this is a great property and on the other hand, the list of ”could be betters” was long. The Lodge is located just out of town - maybe a 10 min walk to the action - and parking was easy at the reception area. Check in was a little slower than we'd like after 7 hours on the road, but friendly. On entering the room we were immediately impressed by the tastefully-retro decor and ample space! The things that bugged us with the room after a couple of nights were (1) lighting - bad lighting, so dim it was almost impossible to get ready, and (2) a bathroom that isn't very functional. Focussing on (2), the list of issues in the bathroom was long: 1. The shower head was clogged with calcium and firing on only a few jets. When I cleaned it with a face cloth, it was back in fighting form. 2. The toilet seat was detached on one side making balance important 3. The shower curtain sits outside the shower tray, so water floods the floor 4. Nowhere to place any amenities - at the sink or in the shower itself 5. Towels were wet and not replaced during stay, no room service received 6. The shower was very dark 7. The hooks on the wall were both coming off - not anchored The rest of the room was pretty decent. Nice quiet A/C for once! I would have liked an airplay or similar option to access the TV - the channels available were pretty limited/outdated. Beyond this, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and the three pools provide lovely choice. They close at 10.30p sharp, which is always a bummer if you find yourself in one at the time. The restaurant seemed appealing but was well below par. Nice vibes but the food was not good at all. Reception was not very helpful when we were having trouble getting a taxi booking. We were woken both mornings by the cleaners in the room nextdoor banging on the walls with their cleanup. We appreciated the water fill station, more of this please California! In sum, given the very high prices for a glammed up motel, a number of things need to be addressed to get to a 4 / 5. Should be possible!
Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley
4.4/511 Reviews
Personally think this four seasons is the ceiling of the Napa area hotel. Soon after the new opening, the facilities are very new and the hardware services are very good. The toiletries are LE LABO SANTAL33. The toothpaste is Marvis. The bathroom is implemented in a four seasons style. The bedding is as comfortable. The only downside is that the toilet is not smart and the slippers are average. The room complex is a bit like the American version of Banyan Tree. But it is more high-end than Banyan Tree. valet parking 28 knives per night. A bottle of sparkling wine and a mini cake for birthday. SPA is worth the experience. Quiet and safe. One bottle of the year 2013 wine from the Four Seasons Hotel will be served in the Vineyard View Room.
Calistoga Inn Restaurant and Brewery

My first time staying at the Calistoga Inn and I was extremely impressed with the property and attention to details. If you are used to staying at large corporate hotels (Hilton, Marriott) this hotel is kind of the opposite of that but in the best way possible. (Metal keys, no TV) This hotel has an amazing charm and feel. You instantly are transported into the vibe of the small town and feel like a local. The rooms are very well kept and clean. The bathrooms down the hall must be cleaned around the clock, each time I used them they were freshly cleaned. The restaurant and bar is right downstairs and have an awesome outdoor patio with great food. My girlfriend had the paella and it was delicious. I had the pork chop and it was equally good. You cannot beat the convenience and charm of this small inn. Especially post covid times, support small and local. You will not be disappointed.
Cottage Grove Inn
4.6/544 Reviews
This instantly became our favorite place in Calistoga (Sorry, Indian Springs!). (My wife claims she wants to move here.) Dog-friendly, though targeted to smaller dogs. I was sure this place was built in the 30's and later upgraded, but no, it was built in the 90's by a clever architect. Individual cottages are strewn through palm trees. A few of the cottages have mini-gardens with outdoor chairs, which I would reserve when I return. Great beds and the rooms have coffeemakers and a mini-fridge (and wine glasses!) Luxurious linens and a great soaking tub. A continental breakfast is included, but it's certainly worth checking out Sam's General Store which is across the street, and is a coffee house with a number of breakfast items, and a 10% discount for Cottage Grove guests. The Inn is downtown, so easy walking to a number of excellent eating places.
Golden Haven Hot Springs

I decided to splurge on the mud bath, because it sounded interesting and I'd never tried anything like it. I'm so glad I did! My guide Bobbie was simply fantastic, she walked me through each step and really elevated an already excellent experience. The progression from the mud bath to shower, then soaking tub and cool-down room is very well thought out and makes for a super relaxing experience. I highly recommend it!
