Park Point Marina Inn

This hotel is in a really cool spot right on the marina. All of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. The only ”downside” to this hotel is that you might have to wait to cross the lift bridge when a giant ship passes through!

I mostly stay at Choice hotel properties and know them well. This is one of the really good ones. Everything from the front desk staff (very friendly and helpful) to the rooms was top notch. Perhaps I could ding them a half star for corridors that could use new carpet, but it's a minor complaint. Excellent wifi, and the rooms are insanely huge. The location is the thing here - you can walk out your door of your lake-facing room and be on the lake walk in about 30 seconds, and the entire canal park neighborhood is right there, walking distance. Minute or so and you're at the lift bridge. Couple of minutes and you're at the restaurants. Just nothing to complain about here. Yes, it's pricey, but given this is a tourist heavy area with likely a limited tourist season as I expect this location has some staggeringly brutal winters, it's understandable. Highly, highly recommended.
Tru by Hilton Duluth Mall Area

Great stay! We arrived at approximately 8 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the hotel in order to check in. We stayed here for three nights from August 19 to August 22. We were greeted promptly at the front desk and the entire check in process only took a couple of minutes. We were given our key cards and proceeded to take the elevator up to the second floor. The room was very clean and the bathroom was especially spacious. The room contained two queen beds and was large enough to maneuver around without bumping into anything. The queen size bed contained comfortable pillows, as well as a sheet and a blanket. The bathroom was on the bigger side, and contained glass doors for the shower. The bathroom also contained many towels, and washcloths. Breakfast in the morning was served from 6 am to 10 am and contained many options, including three different types of cereals, milk, oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, sausage, a variety of different bagels and bread to choose from, as well as several different types of juices. The lobby area contained many different seating arrangements, and even had a pool table. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area

The rooms are small. Double beds and against the walls, making it difficult for 2 to sleep together.
Canal Park Lodge

This was our second stay here and I've been pleased both times. The rate was very reasonable especially for the location. Room was comfortable and spacious and it had a very nice real porcelain bathtub. Pillows were a little flat but at least there were 5 of them for a king bed and honestly, I think most hotels have lousy pillows these days so it wasn't too bad. Checkin was quick and registration was able to accomodate my request to be away from the pool and common areas. Breakfast was about average, but more importantly (to me!) was the locally sourced lobby coffee that was actually brewed like coffee and not dishwater. Decor is warm and welcoming with a nice gas fire in the lobby. Duluth hotels are always expensive in summer, but this property is going to be an off-season go-to for me from now on.

Good location, close to the cruise terminal, should be the best hotel in Truce. But the room was not cleaned every day, no hot water no drinking water... Breakfast is on the first floor of the hotel, you need to pay, the product is OK
