Excellent hostel. I’ve visited more than 20 cities around China, and this hostel has the best leisure facilities: two large pool tables (the one on the left is really good), a big screen for movies and classic “Fred Quimby” Tom & Jerry, plus a gaming screen and handsets. They sell strong Trappist beers. Okay, the fridges with beers in should be a lot colder than they are, but at least for strong beer like Trappist beer, this doesn’t matter.  There is a 100-yuan deposit on arriving, but as promised this was repaid into the account it was paid from at midday (12:07). The woman boss has excellent local down-to-earth, great-quality food tips. They only speak a little English at the front desk, but they’re very quick and efficient at translating from Chinese to English on their phones. They have a rule I’ve never come across before after traveling very many countries: the washing machine can’t be used for underwear! But I remonstrated with them and they waived this rule. The beds have curtains for privacy. When I arrived, the room was too warm and stuffy, but they agreed to turn down the cooling system a little for the whole hostel to help.

I'm always excited to leave as soon as I can. Surprises keep appearing. Mo Wen is a treasure. You don't know what Mo Wen is. I don’t know how great my uncle butler is, but I don’t know how good my friends are. There are all kinds of games, all kinds of food, and the photos on the wall are all stories.
