Tokyo Hostels

I laughed next to the love hotel, but it was a decent guest house, and it was better to say a capsule hotel. There was a bathroom, but it was too dirty to enter because I was scared. Use only shower All amenities such as showers are available, including large towels. It's amazing for this price! Amenity is handed over in a dedicated bag, a system that returns everything at check-out. Use a dedicated disposable slipper. I think the location is good.

Went to grid akihabara 4 years ago and loved it , decided to try the ueno one and was clearly disappointed. Service is poor , one person is working at the desk and that’s it , no one is taking care of restaurant or bar . The hostel then is not very lively . You have to pay for towels . The guy at the front desk was very rude checking for my information he requested I spell my name entirely . The good thing is you can have a breakfast for free since no one is looking who paid or not . The bed is hard and rooms badly ventilated , way too hot . Finally one elevator for 10 floors made me wait 4 rows in the morning to come down since everyone was checking out . You won’t see me again Grid’s .

Pro's : Rooms are very clean with bright lights. Aircon worked fine. Sanitair is very well maintained and comfortable showers. WiFi strength and internet speeds are good. Personal is friendly. Hostel is located close to a metro station and grocery shop (5minute walk). We had the biggest 2 person room which was fine. Con's : kitchen and equipment is not sufficient for a 10 story hostel. Not enough kitchen equipment, extremely small fridge and just 2 stoves. Really frustrating if you like to make use of these facilities. The lounge is pretty small for a hostel this size. Rooms could be designed better to optimize the space for you luggage in a small space (for example space under the bed or extra wall rack etc).

This place is fantastic. It’s extremely clean and looks luxury. The bed was super comfortable, I did not feel claustrophobic at all because the area you get is pretty big with a big bed and a high ceiling so you don’t feel you are in a capsule hotel. They have a very nice work room and also a lounge. The staff were fantastic and helpful. The location is central. when I travel I usually stay at four or five star hotels, but during the cherry Blossom season all the luxury hotels were sold out or they were ridiculously expensive like three or four times the regular price. This is the first time I stayed in a castle hotel, and it just did not felt like being in a hustle because it was so luxury and clean . It’s five minutes walking to the station. I stay three nights in the Shibuya and 4 in Kyoto location and they both were amazing. I will consider staying here again whenever I visit Japan .

You can walk to Shinbashi Station in about 10 minutes. The bed and shower were clean and it was saved that there was a dressing room in the shower room. There is also a key locker. The dormitory itself is quite small, there is no place to spread the luggage. Also, the public space is only a small table in front of the elevator. I think you can spend comfortably if you have less luggage.

It's a short walk from JR Akihabara (about 10 minutes if it's your first time), but about 7 minutes from Akihabara Metro Station. (Once you get used to it, you can go faster) The entrance to the building is a little difficult to find at night, but There is a signboard and an orange flag at the entrance. I was able to find it safely. Even if you check in late at night, please put up a sticker etc. I was able to enter the room smoothly. There are more toilets, sinks, and bathrooms (3) than I expected. There are many hair dryers, Paper towels, free ear plugs, and shampoo treatments are also available. Although it is an unreasonable price, It is very easy to use and I would like to use it again. The receptionist I met in the morning was also very nice. thank you very much.

Hostel was in a good location walking distance to local bars and shopping streets. Metro is a 5 min walk away. The hostel wasn’t very social and didn’t give much information on what to do or where to go. Rooms lacked baggage storage.

The check-in method is not clear enough. I saw that 2 groups of people were anxious to receive letters at the door and find a way to check-in themselves. I thought that I could find the gate password from the platform. As a result, I had to fill in a pile of data and upload photos. Waiting for the homestay to return the password to check in, other parts will not comment. After all, you get what you pay for.

Excellent value for money (3440 Yen, just over £20 GBP for the night!) close to Akihabara station. Spotlessly clean bed-cubicle and shower room. There was an excellent selection of toiletries in the bathrooms (not just the usual Japanese hotel, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, but also skincare). Mattress a little firm. Surprisingly quiet (the background aircon/ventilation was effective white noise) so there was no disturbance from other guests overnight. They provide pyjamas and towels. If you're not very fit/flexible, you might want to ask for the lower level bed-cubicle as it takes a little climbing/wriggling (like getting onto a top bunkbed) to get into the upper one. The lockers up on the floor with the cabins were full height and larger than expected - I could probably have fitted my suitcase in there, but I'd not expected to so left it downstairs in reception. (Reception was crammed with other people's luggage, not ideal). Great for a one night stay (like most capsule hotels, you and your luggage get kicked out during the day while they clean). Be aware that (like most capsule hotels) they don't deal with the takkyubin luggage services.

Loves the hostel. Great location, it is located in the middle of 2 subway lines. I can either go to Tawaramachi station or Karamae station which is super convenient! As clean as a budget hostel could get Lastly, for my subjective opinion, my capsule slot was a bit hot with only a little air vent, shower room is hot as well because of the heater, I literally sweated right after a shower.
