The Wilderness Hotel

Our family stay in this hotel would have been spectacular if it wasn't for the rotten attitude of the hotel manager named Galen. We appreciated everything about this establishment until we had to encounter her. After she sent her staff to go knocking around guets rooms after 22:30 to find out if any of us had ordered a certain meal that some guest did not pay for, so that they could cash up and go home. We were fast asleep when they knocked as we planned to sleep early for our early morning flight with a 6:00am departure. They knocked to wake us up to ask us something we had no clue about just to apologize after and leave, and none of us would sleep after until 01:00am. When confronted her to ask her why she sent people to wake us and to express our frustration she did not show any remorse or accountability for her decision and simply told us there is nothing she could have done, she needed to know. When asked for camomile tea she laughed in our faces and said they don't have any and there's nothing they can do to help us after having woken us up, and walked away leaving us standing there. We paid money to ensure peaceful and comfortable night sleep only to be woken up for something that had nothing to do with us and got a stinking attitude in return. Totally unacceptable! Moreover she had prior promised to make us breakfast packs and have them sent to our room for the next morning for our early departure and we never saw those. Very poor and disappointing management.

Beautiful spot overlooking Wilderness beach, with direct access via a few steps. Room good size and spotlessly clean. Very short drive into Wilderness or 15 min stroll down the beach. Whilst breakfast isn’t offered, juices/water replaced each day - and plenty of choice locally and/or grab a pastry and enjoy the peace and quiet of the beach. Garden and pool area is stunning - Ken and Belinda are fabulous hosts - there if you need anything, but in the background if you don’t as they live there themselves. We loved it and will return. Thank you for having us! Just feels home from home, and the complimentary port to enjoy in the evenings was a lovely touch.
Cinnamon Boutique Guest House

We only stayed at Cinnamon Boutique guest house for one night whilst driving along the Garden Route but could quite happily have stayed longer. Our room was huge with a big lovely comfortable bed, and was beautifully decorated. It had two large windows with patio doors and amazing views of the mountains and trees. The hotel itself is tucked away in the pretty village of Wilderness which has some beautiful walks through the forests and is a really peaceful place. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and it was fantastic - one of the best meals we had in our 3 weeks in South Africa - the menu was really varied, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Desmond and Johan were the perfect hosts - really friendly and welcoming. All in all, we couldn't fault our stay there at all and would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
Beach Villa Wilderness

When you book an accommodation, you never know if it will actually be as beautiful as it appears in the photos. This property exceeded everything! The owners Leane and Deon are extremely nice and we thank them for their hospitality. The view is great. Large windows invite you to spend days looking at the ocean. The house is located directly on the beach. The room was excellent. Wonderful bed, large, clean, spacious bathroom with every luxury. Bathrobes, towels, beach towels, everything has been thought of. A Nesspresso machine in the room, (alcoholic) drinks, snacks. Add to that the amazing view of the ocean from our bed. Too bad we were only here for two nights. The breakfast was luxurious and everything you can think of for breakfast is available. The house itself is very efficiently decorated with many beautiful works of art. Nice restaurants nearby for dinner, where we received advice from Deon and Leane. This accommodation is highly recommended!
The Pink Lodge on the Beach

Double room with ocean view - White Sands on the ground floor with natural light. A fantastic warm welcome by Tim and Elsie awaited us. We had a lovely double room called White Sands with natural light and a vast ocean view on the ground floor with two loungers outside on the verandah. It is a short walk across well-kept lawns and a few steps down to the white sands. Walking on the beach in either direction is super and food for the soul. Superb fresh breakfasts are served upstairs with a great 180-degree view of the sea and beach with friendly, excellent service and helpfulness throughout our stay. Excellent value for location. Wished we had stayed longer than 3 days. We would certainly return to The Pink Lodge. It is also pet-friendly.
