Popular Agra 4-star Hotels

Like so ***y places around the world post Covid and in India… the rooms are old and literally falling apart in some respects. It’s walking distance to Taj Mahal. When you arrive at the gate on the way don’t listen to anyone trying to make you transfer onto a tuktuk or camel or whatever. You can walk from there if the person ***ning the gate refuses to let your taxi in. Or call the hotel to tell them to let you in. The guys at the front desk were extremely helpful and nice.

Transportation location: The hotel is only 5km away from Agra Airport and 1km away from Agra Railway Station. The location is not bad, but it is a bit away from the Taj Mahal and requires a tuk-tuk, which takes about 20 minutes. Overall impression: The hotel is an English-style building with a history of more than one hundred years. Before it can be seen, its owner should be a large local family. Nowadays, there are still many portraits of the owner’s photos as decorative paintings. The characters are dignified and well-dressed. It can be inferred that the person who can keep such clear photos in that era must be of extraordinary origin, probably a certain prince. The front desk service was very good. There was a welcome gift as soon as we arrived at the hotel. Our family of three each gave a bunch of wreaths on our necks, and we also put a red dot on the eyebrows, which is said to be a sign of luck. Guest room impression: The rooms are very local in style. From the bed to the dressing table, all the furniture is very old and old. The room is equipped with a TV and the bathroom is also very large. In addition, due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening, each room is also equipped With the oil heater, it is very warm. Public facilities: The hotel has an English garden with swings and lounge chairs in the garden. There is also a swimming pool in the backyard. The environment is good. You can see monkeys in the hotel. Catering services: The hotel restaurant is located on the first floor and provides all-weather catering services. Breakfast is fine. After lunch at the hotel, the price is more expensive, the serving speed is slow, and the taste is average, so it is not recommended. The hotel as a whole is very local. The staff is attentive and courteous. When we left, we also gave each of us a beautifully packaged candy. It is worth staying in Agra.

In total that was a great stay. Good: The bedroom and shower room are very spacious, there are several types of outfits are in the room which is useful, a good restaurant, an Ayurveda Spa experience, and very friendly staff who even speak a little bit of Japanese. They made me feel like this is a home. Bad: Sometimes poor wifi connection, but not that big issue

The staffs are really helpful to be honest.I would like to thank Mahto ji n Pandey ji. They were really helpful and catered to every needs of mine. Hotel is also good and is located in one of the prime location.A special thanks to Barkat ji.Though he is not directly associated with the hotel but a genuine person as he is a a very good hu*** being in nature have catered our every travel needs and have guided us throughout our journey while we have availed his transportation. I wish Barkat ji,Mahto ji and Pandey ji every success in operating hospitality industry

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of India. Very central hotel, large well appointed room with very comfortable bed and good bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had one dinner here which was lovely and breakfast was nice too with plenty of choice. It has a nice outdoor pool area but it was a bit out of season for our cool water tolerance levels! It’d be great in the hot season though.

The staff was very kind, the location was within walking distance to the Taj Mahal (about 15 minutes), and there was a souvenir shop affiliated with His next door. There wasn't anything particularly close by, but I was able to purchase water and snacks at a nearby store. I think the Taj Mahal is the main attraction when visiting Agra, so it would be convenient to stay here. I wanted to see the sunrise and went out early in the morning when it was still dark, so I was afraid to walk, so I used an Uber taxi, but I was able to hail one right away, and it was a convenient place for public transportation with plenty of taxis nearby! However, there were no tissues in the room and the shower holder was broken. The inside of the room is clean◎

Ambience - 4/5 Food - 4/5 Food Service - 3/5 Stay: 3/5 Cleanliness - 3/5 Neatness of bedsheets/beddings etc: 2.5/5 (not at all new, not ironed, not crisp. Clean perhaps. but most beddings have torn sheets, or burnt holes in the beddings etc) Room 322 that was initially given: 0/5 - broken bathroom handle. - my mother got locked inside. somehow struggled from within and opened the door. then my brother got locked in inside. then i got locked inside. :( Yes we got out eventually yanking the door handle and locking mechanism. But it was quite a scare to experience. Yes one after another. Room 314 (that was reassigned): 3.5/5 My experience: The entire hotel's room-phone/service-phones are ”dead”. The lead hotel staff has NO CLUE about it. House keeping staff ”Deepak” casually informed us - ”oh the telephone poles are down since many days”. Wow! Such a critical piece of info and Hotel staff are in denial or clueless about it. What if any sort of critical emergency occurs and no phone access to hotel staff? Can you even imagine the ramifications? Because of no phone access - even when we tried to reach the hotel via cell phone call informing them that we are calling from room so n so and we need this or that - and we waited for more than 45 minutes before i had to go down to front desk and ask again which took another some 20-30 minutes to get done. For 1 simple task! Jeeezzz Louissee ***! Get a grip on your premises, staff and status of rooms. Pros of The PL Palace hotel: 1- 20-25 mins from Agra army airport. 15-20 mins to Taj Mahal 2- Food quality decent. I had lunch (meal + b'fast included in stay) - For Lunch we had Sweet corn Soup 4/5, Paneer Butter Masala 4/5, Malai Kofta 4/5, Butter Naan 5/5 3- Breakfast spread - as one might expect in any typical hotel - unimaginative, functional, gets the work done types - same potato wedges, idli, dosa, omelette, bread, poha, alu curry, paratha, cookies, tea coffee - b'fast was decent. 4- Housekeeping staff - Deepak. Amazing speed. Amazing dedication. I definitely tipped him. 5- Front desk staff Mr Raju & on duty Manager Miss ? (sorry i forget her name, tall lady) - Thank you for immediately addressing the fault in room 322 and reassigning room 314 to us after double checking that the bathroom door was functioning. Much appreciated.

Very bad experience. I should have booked through Mmt or other platform. I checked online and called hotel. Some Mr. Verma assured me 2 extra mattress @ 3800 inc bf. As I didnt want kids to sleep in separate room, so i fell for his words and confirmed booking.. Hotel was easy to find right at the back of Grand Mercure. Checkin was ok.. Room was shockingly smaller that i vould have imagined. I was told i am given a vlassic room! What a pity.. Vlassic room means front view with an abandoned green area in sight and an obnoxious UP electricity board Transformer. ( i guess this is certainly better than No view toom ) Room was cramped... No space for extra bed.. After removing coffee table, one ply bed with 4 inch foam matreas was adjusted. Bathroom has some perpetual stinking problem. Worst part.. When I asked for 1 small bottle of water (kinley 500 ml) they said its chargable!! Just imagine the hospitality! A room that is not worth 2000. I paid 3800 andI can not get one 500 ml bottle water!??? Salute to the dacoity! Worst part.. Breakfast.. Lousy staff. Diluted ***go juice was put in the jar, Baasi Tea ( stale readymade tea ) which probably was made 1-2 hours back was re- heated again n again to beserved on buffet. Plz see images If you get classic for 1700-1900.maybe its ok.. Otherwise stay away... There are tons of great option neat Tajmahal.

Location wise, even though it’s off the main road, it’s quite. The lobby and corridors are spacious and so are the rooms. Staff are polite and helpful. We stayed a night and were very happy with the hotel. Clean and neat. Restaurant staff were very obliging and the food was tasty and we had no stomach issues. Highly recommended

Mr. Avichal Bharadwaj is the biggest gem in the crown of CM. He is the most compassionate and understanding person. Seeing my mother’s leg problem he offered her breakfast and even upgraded our room. I highly recommend CM to hire more people like him and even promote him to the highest level possible. Huge respect to you. Big Thank you for making our stay as comfortable as possible.
