We booked our stay at Emporikon for just one night in Athens and we were disappointed to find that where we were staying was not the hotel we booked. We arrived at the address for Emporikon (the one pictured on the website where we booked) and they told us that they did not have a reservation for us and we were probably in the other building. The woman walked us over to the other building a block away (on a somewhat deserted alley rather than the bustling street of the actual hotel we booked). They did have our room there but we had booked a “triple room with a view” and what we received was a room with one bed (a full I think) and absolutely no view. The room was very small, overlooked a bar that was extremely loud until 2am. The toilet also did not flush—we had to essentially take it apart and flush four different ways to make it work. There was a smart TV, but it had no access to any Chanels and would not accept any of our U.S. streaming app accounts. The hotel we booked was a beautiful historic building and that was just not what this new building was. The location on the map and the wifi name were  a different hotel “Anasa.” There was a sign outside that said “new Emporikon building” which did make us feel that at least we were not being kidnapped, but it is very concerning that we booked one thing and received something entirely different. That is just not how a contract works. We should have at least been told it would be a different room than we paid for.

We had two rooms end of March 2016. Brilliant location, we were able to walk to all the sights and restaurants etc. A very nice hotel with very friendly staff :) The rooms were large, individual, quirky and clean so we were happy :) True that it doesn't have the hotel name on the door only number 27. One of the rooms had the bed up on a mezzanine level which was low in the ceiling but a fun unusual solution. Pity that room didn't have a light in the bathroom though. Overall we were very happy and would recommend staying at the Emporikon hotel :)

We stayed 3 nights in room 401 in August. The view of the Acropolis from our room was fabulous but the customer service was very disappointing. The two female receptionists were rude and didn't make you feel welcome, however the male receptionist, who we on saw once, was very nice. We would not choose this hotel again, as while it was in a good position in Athens, it did not have good customer service, a pool or a restaurant. The restaurants close to the hotel were average but we did have some good meals at Bistro Louis which is a short walk from the hotel.

The most lovely boutique hotel! The staff and accommodations were so wonderful and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. It’s on a very busy street with nightlife and so many restaurants and somehow the rooms were completely quiet! Water and snacks available at every turn, can’t wait to come back!

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the Monastiraki district of Athens. It’s very close to the Metro so access to the Airport is easy. The rooms have everything you need and are of a very nice standard. I would definitely return. The staff are very helpful and have provided a lot of information via WhatsApp which has made life really helpful.

We stayed for 1 night in a Junior Suite with a lovely side-view to Acropolis. 💎 The staff was the definition of hospitality! And we cannot emphasize this enough. 👍🏻 Beautiful neoclassical building, located in one of the most vibrant squares of Athens. 👍🏻 Beautifully furnished common areas and lobby and an unbeatable old-Athenian aesthetic. 👍🏻 Our suite was on the 3rd floor, so there was hardly any noise coming from the streets. 👍🏻 We deeply appreciated the free snacks, coffee, bottled water and fruit, that were well-stocked and available 24/7. 👍🏻 Room amenities were very generous: slippers, bathrobes, vanity sets, hair and body wash, towels, A/C, balcony and a huge bed. 👍🏻Very attentive WhatsApp and Viber service: pre-arrival, during and after our stay. 👍🏻 We got also provided a very well-thought and detailed list with nearby food and drink recommendations, which we adored! 👎🏻 Bathroom. There was nothing to separate the shower part from the toilet part so water got everywhere. Even though there was a thick curtain(!) to block the… view, the toilet door was transparent and made of glass. Otherwise it would’ve been a 5-star review.

Perhaps no better location in Athens to be walking distance to all the major attractions. You are right in the middle of the of it all. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms are extremely large by European standards. Refreshments in the room come in handy with all the walking you are going to do. Kostas, purveyors of perhaps the best souvlaki in Athens, is just across the courtyard.
