Athens Quinta

Exarcheia
This place is in a fantastic neighbourhood. It’s not too touristy and all the nearby restaurant and bars are full of locals with a bustling atmosphere. Staff here were super friendly and helpful. They were able to give us great recommendations and advice whenever we asked. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. Bathrooms were well provisioned with toiletries. Great breakfast spread provided in the morning. Our room was next to the courtyard so I can imagine during tourist season it would be busy or noisy, but for us it was absolutely no problem.
Hotel Exarchion

We stayed at the Exarchion hotel for seven days recently and enjoyed the stay. The room was a good size, air conditioned, a refrigerator and plenty of storage space. Good size bathroom too, the only drawback being the small shower with curtain. The breakfasts were included and offered juices, cold meats, eggs, fruit, breads and a modern coffee machine. As items were used, replacements were provided immediately. Reception is staffed continuously and were very helpful in offering advice on things to see and do, even giving us a map of the area and marking up where to go. We walked to the Archeological Museum (very impressive!), Parliament (changing of the Guard), the Athens University, Library, and the Australia / New Zealand / United Kingdom World war 2 memorial. There is nearby access to the hop-on hop-off busses and the metro (to the Acropolis) is a short walk away. The environs are very interesting to say the least. As there is a university nearby there are many young people milling around the many bars and restaurants and the whole place was a buzz to be in. We noted some remarks by other reviewers about demonstrations and signs on sheets hung up in the Exarchion Park next to the hotel, but we were never harassed by anyone, even late at night. Should we ever visit Athens again we'll be staying here again!

Everything was good. But it's a little dangerous to be with kids.
Athens Way

Centrally located, but a good 10minute walk to closest metro station. Excellent reception staff, spacious, clean double room (for single use) with fridge, coffee, tea, sugar and electric kettle. No upstairs rooftop dining area. Comfortable beds, bathroom, though small , with great shower and hot water. Supermarket, 3 minutes away, plenty of cabs in vicinity, plus numerous restaurants, open late. Totally satisfied with price-quality ratio and service.
Nubian Hostel

All are very good, very clean and very affordable, but I would not choose to live in this. Because there are many people in one room, I can’t rest well. I’m not 20 years old, I’m over 30, so let’s live in a quieter place. There is no need to live in this kind of student travel hostel to save money. I’m getting older and demanding more sleep. I want to turn on the air conditioner. The other girl feels cold, and I feel bored if I don’t turn on the air conditioner. I left at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night and changed to a four-star very luxurious hotel. The bed is so big and the sofa can sleep 2 people. This hostel recommends young people to live there. The design is particularly good and the location is also good.
Hestia - Asklipiou 61

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hestia - Asklipiou 61 in Athens. The apartment and facilities are so modern, the property was really easy to access. I did have to call the customer service and they were quick and very helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, super super super clean. The bed was comfy and aircon worked a treat! The view from my room looked over the church which is stunning (the bells are a bit loud but don't last long). The only issue I could foresee staying here is the noise, if you are a light sleeper you may struggle to sleep with the noise from the bars below - however, I put on some white noise and it was no issue for me. Highly highly recommend!
