Overall, it was pretty good and very cost effective. Helpful staff. • Luggage storage room available. Laundry service avail on site (4 bucks for washing machine, 4 bucks for dryer & 2 bucks for washing powder), Ironing service was free of charge. • Toothbrush & Toothpaste were available upon purchase @ the reception. Hot water, box fan, kettle, small fridge, tea, coffee, sugar, clean towel, soap, shampoo were all avail. The first two nights I stayed, I had to use a shared bathroom, however, it was very clean. After that I extended my stay where I was moved to another room which included a bathroom. Also, perfect location as it is situated on the busiest street in the city centre where you'll find a lot of restaurants & shops nearby even supermarkets. * The down part was that it gets very noisy at night, you could hear the traffic & people on the street screaming. Plus, the mattress wasn't in its best shape.

TLDR: no aircon, constant power cuts, paper thin walls.. Where do I start. First off there’s no aircon so the rooms are hot and uncomfortable. There are ducted low speed fans which don’t do much. But the biggest problem is the fact the rooms are on what I believe to be motion sensors or some kind of timers so ALL power turns off every 25 seconds, this is not an exaggeration. This includes the lights, jug, the fan - everything. I stubbed my toes in the dark because the lights turned off while I was walking around, and they wouldn’t turn back on. Showering in the dark due the lights constantly on and off. Good luck making a coffee, showering, watching TV or anything without that being interrupted by constant power cuts which drive you mad. I booked the small room. They look small in the photos but even smaller in person and I felt like I was suffocating, the rooms are tiny so heat up like crazy. The smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. Also the walls are paper thin so I could hear my neighbours conversations word for word.. even with ear plugs. If there was air con and sound proof walls, I could have put up with the extremely small space. Terrible experience. Don’t even bother with this place. The Abstract had a lot of potential as they have decorated it very nicely but they have let themselves down. It is also in a dangerous area of Auckland central so you will want to make sure you are back in your room by dark, lots of drunk homeless people around. After my first night of zero sleep due to the heat, stuffiness and neighbours chatting, I complained and had my room kindly upgraded to a larger one, but the same issues remained of constant power cuts and no air con in that room too. At least it was a bit cooler due to being larger and an extra window, also had no neighbours.. The customer service was pretty good. There is no parking on site so you have to park in a carpark building across the road. The food in the restaurant was average but has a beautiful outdoor dining area which was the highlight.

In the month of January, myself and my friends stayed at the luxurious Sudima Hotel located in Auckland city. We had a warm welcome by the staff at the reception and each and everyone of them were happy to help in anyway possible. We were shown to our room by a kind hearted staff member on the 6th floor and WOW what an amazing view it had of the harbour bridge along with the city buildings. As for the room, it was very modern and well set up. The bathroom was perfect with ammenities provided. The beds were extra comfortable and the tv had a wide range of movies to select from. Whilst we were enjoying the view from the window, we were surprised with a welcome hamper consisting of vegan friendly snacks, refreshing coconut water along with skincare items such as face masks, shower bombs and sleep balms. This was a very thoughtful surprise and indeed we enjoyed it. We had a free breakfast at the East eats restaurant with a range of food to select from and it was amazing. All the food is vegan friendly and very delicious. The lobby has a lot of seating for anyone to enjoy. The beautiful architecture catches ones eye. Very modernised and unique in its own way. Definitely a place to stay! We would like to say a big Thank you to all the staff that helped us have a wonderful stay at the hotel. We definitely will be back. So clean, comfortable, lovely and full of greeneries with a garden and a little fountain. Good value and a pleasant surprise! Feels like a nice countryside stay but with good bedding, pillows and service.

Awesome stay, We stayed there 2 nights 2 adults and 2 children stayed there, The place was clean smelled nice. Awesome furnishings. There were other quest in the place but you would not know. The stay is a different set up where the place was like homestay in bulit up area other homes around. The streets and homes are clean tidy and quiet. We shared lovely kitchen and if you are upstairs we had out own little area to make coffee and tea and a lounge to relax. We planned activities in Auckland for our time there, and it was nice get back to a comfortable room and home. I would recommend the stay to others and would stay again Thankyou. Our children loved the place. I gave 3 for location it is in built up area and 3 for service, we saw no one during out time there had to ring for help. but the line was busy. Still ok place to stay.

Holiday Inn Express is one of my favorite hotels during my 2-week stay in New Zealand. It is located in the heart of Auckland’s cbd area and close to everything (shops, restaurants, bars, harbor). It is a 6-minute walk to the Sky Tower where you can pick up the Airport Express bus for $17 nzd. The hotel entrance is on a significant incline. The reception is on the 2nd floor which you can take either an elevator or escalator up. The cafeteria and small lounge are to the right of the reception desk. Breakfast was the usual scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruits, muffins, and other pastries. Due to the high volume of clients the 2 coffee machines were usually low on milk to make certain coffee drinks. I love the room set up. The closet is across of the bathroom and had plenty of room for your luggage. The shower is enclosed in a glass cube with wave designs. A nightlight in the bathroom saved on electricity if you need a little light to move around the room. The bed was comfortable and the a/c worked. The reception staff was kind to let me stay an extra hour past the check-out time for the room that I had with my tour. The room that I booked after the tour was ready early and I got to settle in at 11 am before my afternoon tour. Construction is happening around the hotel with the streets being torn up and a new building under construction next to the hotel. The hotel is well insulated that I couldn’t hear any of the construction.

Loved our stay. It was like hotels used to be. Lots of complimentary items. You could literally just walk in with your clothes. Awesome having a bar and restaurant on site. Parking was excellent. Airport shuttles come to the hotel and it has a heated pool. Highly recommend.

Busy hotel and a base hotel for China aircrew. Room size is decent and bed is comfortable. Daily housekeeping seemed to be a little slow probably because of high occupancy. Nice restaurants within the hotel. It be good if they can vary the breakfast spread, spread is the same everyday during my stay. Filtered coffee offered at breakfast. If you want something else like flat white, extra charges apply and extra charge for milk.
