The Rowan Tree Country Hotel

I have never reviewed a place before on Trustpilot but for the Rowan Tree Country Hotel I just had to… Absolutely fantastic hotel, in a great location for holiday activities. Crucially, it’s one of the few places where I would be just as happy to stay warm inside, without being disappointed if the weather takes a turn for the wild… as it often can in the Highlands! A final point which I can’t stress enough: the food. Some of the dishes are, no joke, Michelin Star Level. You would be forgiven for thinking you’d been transported to the set of Masterchef, rather than a former Scottish inn. Put simply, easily the best restaurant - and hotel - I’ve been to in the Aviemore area.

We had the most amazing time, so much that we recommended it to everyone. Atmosphere was amazing, staff was generously kind and helpful and food was out of this planet!unfortunately i am unable to upload the pictures but feel free email me, we loved it so much, returning again next year

I only stayed for one night, but I really wish I could have stayed longer. I was staying one my own, which can be uncomfortable but I was made very welcome and made to feel not on my own. I booked the single room and, although small, it was very comfortable and just right for me. The food in the restaurant was delicious, breakfast was great. I took a short walk down to the Loch, a very peaceful and refreshing place. I would highly recommend Rowan Tree Country Hotel, if possible, I will be back with my husband for a longer stay.

so I was very excited to stay at the Rowan Tree because I had heard lots of great things about it. Its also very close to where I need to be when im working in Kincraig about once a week. The room I had was nice with 2 single beds. Firstly the bed was a single and while I have not slept in a single bed since I was a child about 35 years ago it was very comfortable. Nice clean sheets and lovely soft pillows. I am getting to bed early have work in the morning and unfortunately for me my room must have been above the kitchen so it was quite noisy and I could here pots and pans being bashed about. I had booked for dinner some weeks in advance but I was seated in the bar for dinner. Im not going to say the food was amazing and I was actually a bit dissapointed, perhaps it was a taste thing but I thought it was pretty pricy for very average food with no seasoning. I cant fault the staff in the bar they were all very welcoming and nice and I appreciated the water and bread and oil. The room has a lot of light leakage and would benifit from black out blinds so you can go to bed and sleep if you want to. I would stay again with no hesitation.

We were travelling by van around this area when having a wee accident with it: the wheel got stuck in the mud. We came to this hotel in order to ask for help and the staff were really helpful. After all we decided to stay that night at the hotel and take a deserve scottish breakfast the next moorning. We are so grateful to meet Steve, Ginna and the rest of the staff. Thanks a lot for everything. Our next trip to Scotland, we will come back at the Rowan Tree Country Hotel for sure.

Only a flying visit unfortunately, I was well looked after by the staff and had a great dinner even though I was late arriving, breakfast was good too, I had a top floor room (which I think is now my favourite) it was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Until my next adventure!!

Such a wonderful find. A beautiful warm welcome as soon as we arrived. We were quite late getting there and Jasamina got us some delicious soup from the kitchen even though dinner service was over. The whole hotel is so tastefully Scottish decorated and spotlessly clean. Our en-suite room was charming , a mix of old world inn and modern furniture. The sleigh bed was really comfortable with 100% white cotton bedding. The shower was wonderful, there was a plentiful supply of hot water and the towels were super white and fluffy. The breakfast was just amazing with lots of choice and really delicious set us up for the long trip back to Bath Well worth the money.

Came for dinner without pre booking. Not high season being early May). Was immediately offered comfy lounge seating for a pre meal drink or direct to table. Service friendly and prompt. Food beautifully presented and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
