"The room balcony offers a view of the Tokyo Skytree. It's very close to Senso-ji Temple, but if you plan to walk to the station, it's a bit of a distance. The hotel front desk staff are incredibly friendly! The shower has excellent water pressure and hot water. The mini-fridge comes stocked with complimentary drinks and beer, which is a great touch! Bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers feature deep soaking bathtubs and complimentary toiletries. Conveniences include safes and desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"I stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingugaien Tokyo PREMIER during a business trip and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained, with a professional and efficient staff who ensure a smooth stay from check-in to check-out. The location is very convenient if you need to be in this part of Tokyo,. However, for first-time visitors focused on sightseeing, it is a little farther from some of Tokyo's main attractions and busiest districts. The room itself is quite small, which is typical for Tokyo, but it is thoughtfully designed, very comfortable, and makes excellent use of the available space. One feature I particularly appreciated was the spacious terrace, which added a sense of openness. Amenities are provided downstairs and can be collected at any time, which is both practical and environmentally friendly. The bathroom is well equipped, featuring both a bathtub and a separate shower, a nice touch after a long day of meetings or exploring the city. At breakfast the selection is extensive and offers pretty much everything one could want. The quality is excellent and makes for a great start to the day. The terrace on the top floor has been my hidden gem: I went there for meditation in the morning and it was very nice, quite and with nobody around :)"

Hotels in Koto Ward,Tokyo
LANG Kameido Hotel is a serviced apartment-style hotel located just a 4-minute walk from JR Sobu Line Kameido Station. With convenient access, it’s only 4 stops from Akihabara. The hotel offers 27 independent units, each around 25㎡—spacious compared to typical budget hotels. All rooms are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, making them ideal for both business and leisure travelers. Each unit features a separate bathroom and toilet, as well as a washing machine. While there is no kitchen, a microwave and refrigerator are provided, making the hotel suitable for mid- to long-term stays. The surrounding area is full of supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants, and Kameido is especially famous as a “yakiniku paradise,” offering both comfort and great local dining experiences.

"This hotel is about a 6-7 minute walk from the subway station, and you need to cross a pedestrian bridge (there's an elevator if you have luggage). Kameido station is super convenient for getting anywhere, and there are lots of great food options nearby. There are convenience stores right downstairs and along the streets nearby. The room was spacious and clean, and after a long day of sightseeing, it was nice to relax in a comfortable bath. You need to dispose of your own trash; the trash room is on the first floor, to the right of the elevators. Japan's trash sorting is quite meticulous, and there are small trash bags in the room's desk. I recommend carrying them with you since it can be hard to find public trash cans outside. Our room was on the top floor (10th floor). At night, it was generally quiet, except for a bit of noise from emergency sirens on the street. However, after a tiring day, you'll sleep well; you barely hear any noise once you're settling in. If you're visiting Tokyo, I highly recommend this apartment-style hotel!"

Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower

Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The bell boy who helped me with bringing my luggages to the room was very friendly and helpful, spoke good English too. Though not all staff spoke good English, they tried their best to assist me. Their service standard is consistent throughout. The room and the toilet was spacious and clean. There were 4 restuarants that I could go to for breakfast. The Garden Lounge which served buffet breakfast has a wide selection of food and drink. Most importantly the food was yummy! I enjoyed looking at the beautiful garden with waterfall view as I was seated by the window during breakfast.

The hotel definitely has a lot of history. Especially the South Wing where I stayed, the room had a 2000s guesthouse vibe. It was quite cramped for a family of three; with our luggage open, there was barely any space to move, so it was good we only stayed one night. There were many hotel staff, and check-in was very fast. There are plenty of convenience stores and coffee shops nearby, and it's a convenient 10-minute walk to Shinjuku Station.

The accommodation is about a ten-minute walk from the station. It's clean and tidy, and having a washing machine is a huge plus for travelers. The bathroom even has a bathtub for a relaxing soak. The only downside was that on the day we stayed, the guests upstairs kept running around, making a lot of noise! It improved after the host intervened, which I really appreciate 🙏 Kinshicho Station area is very lively, and I'd love to visit again if I get the chance!

Our family trip to Tokyo was made much easier by this hotel—it was an excellent choice for us. They offer adjoining rooms and sofa beds, which gave us plenty of space and flexibility. The location is another big plus: set within a family-friendly park, it’s just a short walk to Tokyo Tower, great restaurants, and nearby subway stations. One thing to keep in mind: the elevators are split—floors 1–18 and 19–32 are served separately, and access to floors 18–32 requires a key card. So if you’re booking multiple room types, just double-check which floors they’re on to avoid any confusion.

A lovely hotel that I would stay at again. I booked the bunk bed, which my roommate and I felt really comfortable in. Staff were quite friendly and most understood/could speak English. It says self check-in on the booking page but there was someone present to help us through the check-in process. Note that there's an accommodation tax (900 yen per person) that needs to be paid on check-in. Since we stayed for more than five days, they did full housekeeping (changing bedsheets) for two out of the eight days. However, they also were able to provide fresh towels and clear trash daily (we just put their provided magnetic notice on the door and left the items at the entryway). Showers were small, but amazing. They provide a day's worth of toothpaste, a toothbrush, a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, an electric kettle, a microwave, plates, utensils, cups, scissors, detergent, and two pairs of room slippers. There was an HDTV (with an HDMI port) that we directly connected to Netflix (no need to logout) as well. This hotel is about an 8 minute walk away from Ryogoku station and 11 mins from Asakusa station. If you have a really physical day or have hefty luggage, then this might feel a bit far, but the area generally feels safe, and you get to cross the bridge over the Sumida river to/from Asakusa, which is nice. Other things to note: There is one shared washing machine for the whole hotel that's free to use, and it takes about 2H per wash and tumble dry cycle. There was no quick wash setting. We had to do ours in the wee hours because other guests were quicker to use them in the ”prime” hours (7-9am and 8pm-12mn). A QR code and/or number code is used to unlock your door's digital lock. It's also used for checkout, so save the sheet of paper they issue. Otherwise, remember to take a picture as there's no service staff after a certain time and they will lock the doors to the entrance where the only way to get in is the issued code. Someone pressed the fire alarm accidentally one morning, which brought the fire department, ambulance and police to the hotel and the alert was deafening and heard neighbourhood-wide. Look carefully before you press/lean on a surface - there's no covering on the alarm button, but it is in the centre of a giant red circle. It was an eventful morning but we did not enjoy running down and climbing up 8-storeys worth of stairs (they shut the elevators in emergencies). Overall, a relaxing, cool vibe that feels clean and cozy.

A Stay That Feels Like Coming Home – My Honest Review 1. Prime Location, Peaceful Setting Tucked just a short stroll from Shinagawa Station, this guesthouse is brilliantly located for exploring Tokyo. Despite being so close to a major transport hub, the neighborhood is remarkably quiet and residential. Finding the place was a breeze – clear instructions and a distinctive exterior made it instantly recognizable. 2. Thoughtful, Characterful Interior Design This is no cookie-cutter hostel. The owner has poured genuine creativity into every corner – vintage posters, handmade handpicked furniture, and an artsy blend of retro and modern elements. I booked a single bed this time, but unlike the typical 10-square-meter hotel boxes in Tokyo, my space felt genuinely roomy. I could stretch out, lay open my suitcase, and still have floor space to do morning stretches – a rare luxury for solo travelers. 3. Fully Equipped – With Surprising Extras The amenities go way beyond basics. A full kitchen with cookware, a washing machine. But the real delight? The owner’s personal toy collection scattered around – retro figures, board games, and quirky knickknacks to tinker with. And the crown jewel: a vintage record player with a curated vinyl selection, plus a compact DJ setup. I spent one evening spinning tracks with the host personal collections – an unforgettable Tokyo memory. 4. The Host – Warm, Witty, and Genuinely Sociable The owner is the heart of this place. They greet every guest like an old friend, share honest food recommendations for the local alleyways (I tried three of his tips – all phenomenal), and even bring their little dog down to the common area in some evenings. We’d gather around, sip drinks, chat about life, and laugh at their stories. It’s that rare blend of hospitality and authenticity that you can’t book – it just happens. Who Would Love This Place? Solo adventurers who crave connection but value their own space. Digital nomads needing room to work and relax. Music lovers, design nerds, and anyone tired of sterile hotel chains. If you’re traveling alone in Japan and actually want to make friends – over a shared meal, a vinyl crackle, or a dog’s gentle nudge – this is your spot. Highly, highly recommended.

Centurion Hotel Ueno

Centurion Hotel Ueno was a complete disappointment, falling short of basic hospitality standards. The deception started right at check-in: the room was explicitly advertised and booked as a ”Casual Double Bed,” but what we actually received was a cramped single bed. This blatant misrepresentation immediately compromised the comfort of our stay. The lack of care extended into the bathroom, which was a major letdown. The sink and shower area were marred by very bad, visible marks that made the entire space feel neglected and unhygienic. For a hotel that positions itself in a convenient location like Ueno, the absolute disregard for accurate room descriptions and rigorous housekeeping is unacceptable.

Location: In Maruyama-cho, Shibuya, just a stone's throw away from the bustling Shibuya station. Price: I booked during Golden Week, and you won't find another place to sleep in Shibuya for the same price. Bed: It's sized for Chinese guests, wider than traditional Japanese capsule hotels, and comes with a USB port and regular power outlets, so no worries about charging. The first picture shows the room size after removing the duvet cover. For just one night's sleep and a shower, this place is impeccable.

I'd like to point out the apartment's excellent location: the building is right next to the metro exit. The view from the balcony is excellent. The neighborhood is very quiet, with plenty of convenience stores nearby, a 10-minute walk to the SkyTower shopping center, and plenty of nice restaurants nearby. It's interesting that when you step outside, it's very quiet, but in the apartment with the open balcony, you can hear a lot of traffic noise. There was enough space for three of us, but the fold-out sofa isn't very comfortable. We used a mattress, an extra blanket, and a blanket underneath ourselves to soften it, but overall, we didn't have any problems, such as back pain. The apartment includes an iron, a microwave, and other kitchen appliances. There's a washing machine, but it wasn't plugged in, so we didn't bother fixing it ourselves. There was a hair dryer, but it was very weak and dusty. When you turn it on, it starts to smell burnt, so we didn't use it. The apartment itself is in good condition, but it feels like it could quickly become too old. Aside from the hair dryer, there was a dirty sheet in the linen set. We informed the owner, who apologized and offered to send a new set, but we only found another sheet. We also mentioned that there would be three of us staying, but the ”sofa” wasn't made, so we had to make it ourselves.
