Imperial Hotel, Tokyo

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo

📍 1 Chome-1-1, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo
★★★★★ 9.5 (2,381 reviews)

"The lobby is very grand, and the service quality, which is rarely efficient in Japan, really stood out. Check-in at the front desk was super fast, and all the staff spoke good English, so communication was seamless. The room wasn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate. Some of the equipment was a bit older, but everything was very well-maintained. On the first night, we stayed in a room on the 1247 side and couldn't sleep at all because of the train noise, which only stopped at 1 AM and started again at 5 AM. Luckily, we were able to switch rooms on the second day, which was much better. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast. There are no convenience stores or drugstores nearby, and it's about a 10-minute walk to the main shopping area in Ginza."

Sunshine City Prince Hotel Ikebukuro Tokyo ★★★★
"We stayed at the Sunshine City Prince Hotel in a triple room (Type A) on the 23rd floor. The room was spacious enough to comfortably open all three suitcases, and we pushed two twin beds together for my husband and I while our son had his own bed. The beds were a bit firmer than what we’re used to but still comfortable. Housekeeping was offered daily and complimentary water bottles were provided. The shower pressure was excellent. The bathroom (shower and toilet together) has a small step up—worth noting if mobility is a concern. Ask for an accessible room (floors 6 or 16) if you prefer no step. One guest at reception was unhappy about not knowing this in advance, so it’s good to request it when booking. Location is very convenient: a Family Mart downstairs, and direct access to Sunshine City with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Our son especially loved the Bandai Namco arcade area with claw machines and gashapon."

HOTEL TAVINOS Asakusa ★★★
"Overall, this was a great value-for-money stay in Asakusa. The hotel was clean, modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had everything we needed, and the facilities were well maintained. The only downside was the location. It’s not particularly close to the main Asakusa subway stations, so if you’re carrying luggage or planning to use the train frequently, be prepared for a 10–15 minute walk. However, it’s still within walking distance of Senso-ji Temple and plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, making it a pleasant area to stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price."
