Canberra Hotels with Bars

Canberra is a verdant landscaped city. While public transport is somewhat limited its small size and excellent walking pathways offer 5-10 minute walks to reach most major amenities or local shops and services. Hotel Realm is in the very central Barton district and a healthy walk to most major sites and museums, galleries and houses of parliament. Overall a good choice for both business and tourists.

Haha, this hotel definitely requires a bit of an adventurous spirit to stay at! It was built in 1926, so it's celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. In the lobby restaurant, there's a very old manual plug-in switchboard. The hotel's past life probably wasn't as a hotel; it gives off more of a government archives vibe 😂. The room facilities are a bit dated, especially the carpet, but there's a certain echo of the 1950s. The bathroom is quite small, and the shower area, in particular, seems like it would be a squeeze for anyone a bit larger. Canberra gets really cold, so it was a thoughtful touch that the hotel provided extra blankets. Overall, I think you need to have a bit of a nostalgic appreciation to truly enjoy this kind of hotel. The service, however, was quite good.

We stayed for the Canberra Marathon Festival. The location was close to the main event area, and there is a cafe and a foodstore close by. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. The area is quiet but there are a few restaurant's and bars along the lake about a 10-minute walk away. Uber's were always only a minute away. We had a great time seeing the sights, a lot of them are within walking distance from the hotel.

The room was very clean, and the kitchenette was super convenient, even coming with disposable dish soap and utensils. The bedding was soft, comfortable, and clean—my sensitive skin didn't itch at all. The air conditioning was powerful, and the bathroom was spacious. My only minor complaint is that I couldn't find a hairdryer. Also, there's only one person at the front desk, so they can get overwhelmed at times, leading to slower responses.

clean room and comfy bed. there are only 2 floors and our room is next to a round about and noise during the day could be quite loud. the hotel decor is not so modern with a bath tub and only a shower screen covering half of it so after showers the bathroom floor is completely wet. breakfast was great and staff at the restaurant were patient and attentive to the needs of customers. hotel staff were helpful and service was good overall except that when we checked out the front desk lady was first reluctant to get staff to check my room but told me if anything is missing from the minibar it will be charged to our card and that we have signed an agreement. of course if we have consumed anything we are happy to pay but we would like the room checked when we are still in the hotel premises rather than being told a day later a dozen drinks have gone missing. I wonder why she did not understand my request. she wasn't rude but what she said could be offensive to some people.

The hotel is located to the north west of the city centre. Though it is a bit far from the city it is quite convenient, there’s a supermarket (woolies) nearby. Parking is difficult but they provide parking for extra fee per night with unlimited in and out. The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and sufficient for our travel purpose to attend an event nearby. I like the double beds (two separate beds) option but this type of room only comes with a disable-friendly bathroom. I wish their double beds are bigger in size and they have a regular bathroom option with a bathtub.

Very clean, chic hotel with a popular restaurant and bar. It is conveniently located on Northbourne Avenue , Elouera St and Mort Street which is directly the line of Canberra's night clubs if you are coming on a weekend. There's only two sets of lifts for Hotel Clients which isn't a problem for an Asian ( moi) who is used to very crowded areas. But this can be a bit inconvenient for locals who are used to express service. Pool, gym, sauna. Major plus points. And the best part of all is the free bar fridge in the room. (Not sure if it was a promotion but my friend and I could drink all of what was offered for free!) We didnt because we are massive alcohol fans. The only major downside is the 25 dollar parking fee. No, no no. You can raise the price a bit higher for the quality of rooms but it's a bit offputting to have that as an additional fee. Overall, a pretty great experience from service to aminities.

Stayed at Forrest Hotel and Apartments for a work trip and it was a really solid choice. The location was convenient and close to everything I needed, which made getting around Canberra easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet enough to relax after long work days. Staff were friendly and check-in was straightforward. The apartments have everything you need for a longer stay, especially if you want a bit more space than a standard hotel room. Wi-Fi was reliable, parking was easy, and the overall atmosphere was pretty relaxed. Good value and comfortable for a business stay. Would definitely stay again for work trips.

Wasn’t the best day at the ridges, had a room with no heating on a cold winters night in Canberra, Sauna was not working broken. Ask reception staff for a portable heater which they finally gave me after two hours, they let me know that the Hotel had lost all heating, and later moved me to a room where the heating was working. The location is very good, the breakfast is not too bad.

This hotel is located in a residential area in the southern part of Canberra. It's a great spot to get a feel for Canberra, nestled in a lovely neighborhood. There's a bus stop right in front, and it's about a 20-minute bus ride from the city center, with decent frequency. You can get to the airport by changing buses once in the city center. As it's an Ibis hotel, the facilities are solid. Breakfast was a European style, though the selection wasn't extensive. There aren't many dinner options nearby. It seems primarily designed for guests traveling by car.
