Guest UserThe room had so much character, you could tell the owner put a lot of thought into every detail. The service was also incredibly attentive; the owner tried their best to accommodate all our requests. Highly recommend! And since it wasn't peak season, the room rate was quite reasonable too.

RexinwangyouzhengzaishuruI chose Fengyuantang Courtyard B&B for my trip to Zhouzhuang Ancient Town, and I genuinely feel it was the right choice. Here are my honest thoughts.
First, the location: the B&B is nestled in a quiet spot within the bustling ancient town, making access very convenient. It was so relaxing to stroll back to our accommodation after enjoying the night views. It's truly hassle-free.
The B&B itself is the old Fengyuantang residence, a preserved Qing Dynasty building that is also a listed historic building in Kunshan. It's a typical Jiangnan ancient dwelling with black tiles, wooden windows, carved gate towers, and veranda eaves – every detail exudes the charm of old Jiangnan. Although the B&B was converted from a hundred-year-old house, the interior completely lacks the dampness and dated feel often found in old buildings. The living comfort is very high; it retains only the unique rustic tranquility of an ancient building, making for a serene and comfortable stay.
The owners spent over a year meticulously renovating it. The courtyard features several beautiful miniature landscapes, from stone paths and pomegranate trees to lush greenery. There are also swings, stone tables, and benches. On rainy days, raindrops falling from the eaves, combined with the red lanterns, create a particularly atmospheric scene. Every corner is picturesque, perfect for photos, and simply sitting in the courtyard, sipping tea, and unwinding is incredibly peaceful. Both nights of my stay happened to be during the Jiangnan plum rain season, and experiencing the misty Jiangnan atmosphere within the old house was truly unique and evocative.
Both the owner and his wife are incredibly warm and attentive, treating guests kindly and genuinely, without any sense of distance. Breakfast is a simple, authentic Jiangnan home-style meal: white porridge with fried dough sticks, corn, eggs, and refreshing side dishes – light and palatable, just right to fill up before exploring the ancient town.
The entire B&B is immaculately clean. The ancient building has been comfortably renovated while retaining its original charm. The courtyard offers a new picturesque view at every turn, the service is thoughtful, and getting around is convenient. My stay this time was a perfect 10, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Zhouzhuang. I sincerely recommend it to anyone looking for a slow and immersive stay in the ancient town!

MalipiyeluoThis hotel was a pleasant surprise and offered excellent value for money! 👍
With the Suzhou culture and tourism subsidy, we paid less than 500 RMB for a family room.
📍 **Location**
* Just 3 km from Kunshan Urban Forest Park – perfect for camping, cycling, animal encounters, and kids' activities (both powered and unpowered).
* A 7-8 minute walk to Mixc One for all your dining and shopping needs.
* Also quite close to Metro Line 11 station.
🏨 **Hotel Facilities**
* The front desk thoughtfully provides self-service items like earplugs, band-aids, and disinfectant wipes.
* The family room is incredibly detailed, offering a children's toilet seat, bath bags, kids' books, and building blocks.
* The room is spacious, the air conditioning is good, and the TV allows screen casting, making it very comfortable overall.
* There's a splash pool on the 12th floor, open annually from June 15th to September 15th. We didn't get to experience it this time.
🍜 **Breakfast was a pleasant surprise**
* The restaurant isn't huge but never had a queue, and the dining environment was comfortable.
* While not a massive selection, there was enough variety for a satisfying meal, especially friendly for those with Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai palates.
* Highly recommend the mixed noodles, egg rolls, and beef brisket.
* They also had herbal jelly and snacks for the kids.
📝 They even provided welcome snacks + drinks, and gave the kids toys upon check-out. The emotional value was definitely delivered!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kunshan, especially for family trips!

Anonymous UserThe hotel environment is very good. It is nice to sit on the sofa in the lobby and work on a laptop, or discuss things with clients. Taking the elevator to the room upstairs, the environment is quiet, very suitable for a rest on a business trip. I like the sentence in the elevator: Mountains and rivers along the way, a harbor at one end.

The environment of this guesthouse is truly exceptional, nestled in a peaceful village. Stepping outside, you can immediately feel the simple and natural rural atmosphere. The village itself is perfect for a leisurely stroll, enjoying the scenery along the way and letting your mind relax.
The guesthouse also features a swimming pool. Although it's not a heated pool and not currently in use, which is a bit of a shame, I can just imagine how wonderful it would be to swim and sunbathe here in the summer. Additionally, dining is incredibly convenient, with hotpot and Chinese restaurants nearby, offering delicious hot meals just a short walk away. The most pleasant surprise was being able to order takeout smoothly even in this rural location – a perfect blend of modern convenience and the tranquility of a traditional village.
I had originally hoped to book a room for ***** New Year's Eve, but it was already fully booked, which is a real pity. The guesthouse manager mentioned that there will be many lively activities in the village during the Spring Festival that guests can participate in, which is very thoughtful. I guess I'll have to wait until summer to visit then!

kathyThe soundproofing isn't great; the constant noise from the kids next door, both at night and in the morning, was really annoying. The room's facilities are quite old and show their age. However, the location is excellent, just a short walk to one of the scenic area's entrances. There are a decent number of parking spaces, though I'm not sure if it would be enough during holidays. Breakfast isn't a buffet; it's pre-set, but it's filling and the taste is acceptable.

DayanyueyueI took my high school kid here for a day off at the tail end of the holiday season. It was quick and convenient to get here from Shanghai. When I entered the hotel, I was told that the room type had been upgraded to a double bedroom, which was a real surprise. There were soft drinks and fruits in the room for us to enjoy, a huge sofa, and an exquisite little courtyard (the little snail had afternoon tea with us). It was so much fun to stay there for a day. There is also a granary that we can climb up in the hotel, as well as a Kunqu Opera art exhibition, and egrets by the lake. I especially want to mention the dinner in the hotel. Although it is a set meal, every dish is delicious. I look forward to coming again next time. It's great!

Guest UserI brought my dog to Dianshan Lake for a relaxing trip and found this dog-friendly hotel. It's affiliated with the Sheraton next door, but this one allows dogs and offers better value for money. The surroundings are lovely, and our upgraded room had a lake view, with a pet-friendly green space right below, perfect for walking the dog. On the first day, the air conditioning in our room wasn't working, but the next morning, Xiao Xu at the front desk helped us switch rooms. Xiao Xu provided excellent service – she was warm, thoughtful, and just a wonderful person. We really appreciated the friendly service and had a great experience. The breakfast was also good, with a decent variety. On our second day, which was a Monday, we had breakfast at the Sheraton next door, which had an even wider selection of food. There's a 150 RMB charge for bringing a dog. We brought our own dog bed and supplies, but a 150 RMB cleaning fee per night for the dog is just too expensive. I'd suggest lowering that.

Very right choice! Highly recommended!
Over the weekend, I gathered a few friends to explore Yangcheng Lake and taste the hairy crabs that people across the country long for. After searching online for hotels around the lake, I chose this very cost-effective star-rated hotel. On the day I checked in, I asked the front desk clerk how to achieve ”eating eight legs at Yangcheng Lake” and received an enthusiastic reply. The young lady also wrote me directions. Introduction: There are subway and bus stations just downstairs from the hotel. Even taking a taxi only takes about 20 kilometers. Living in this hotel in the city saved me money on the high-speed train back to Beijing rather than living near the lake. Do you think it's worth it? Haha, you made the right choice!
The bathroom and room area are relatively large, luxurious and comfortable, and the hygiene is first-rate. The room attendant also introduced me to a better local crab restaurant, which they call ”Crab Village”
I was bored when I came back at night. The hotel has a mahjong room open and the air is fresh, which is nice.

Raph-31Very nice house, the compound feels very like a vacation village, perfect to escape Shanghai for couple of days. We didn't get much occasion to visit around because of the Typhoon but we really liked our time in the house and there is small supermarket 10 minutes walk. Kitchen tools (pots, knifes..) could be refreshed. Service is overall very good.
