York Hotels with Bars

Perfect location for a sightseeing trip to York, with car parking. The hotel was gorgeous, beautiful room (we had blenheim suite), huge copper bath in the bedroom (bring your own bubble bath!), super comfy bed, beautifully decorated room. Reception staff lovely and very knowledgeable of local area. Lovely bar too with friendly staff, a range of boardgames available which was fun. Breakfast room had a great Churchill theme ( brilliant top/bowler hat lighting). Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

The room itself was great, and we even got complimentary drinks and snacks. However, the location is a bit out of the way, quite a distance from the train station and far from the shops in the city center.

The Galtres... A perfect place to stay in York. Location is great, central, surrounded by pubs, shops, bars, restaurant, a few steps from York Minster, couple of minutes walk to the Shambles, 13 minute walk from the train station. Our room was spotless, checking in was easy, arrived 3 hours early, but room was ready so accessed that straight away. Little bit quirky, I guess no two rooms the same, old fireplace, massive mirrors and a Wimbledon wicker basket at decor. Breakfast was amazing, gorgeous food, great selection and waiting staff always happy to help. Didn't eat there at other times, but the restaurant always looked busy inside and out. Two minor faults, could have squoze a small dressing table/desk into the room, and be prepared for a small amount of noise in the morning with delivery vehicles around, not a big problem though. I would definitely visit again, and recommend anyone visiting York to look at this place as somewhere really nice to stay.

Located within a golf course, the hotel boasts a tranquil, peaceful, and comfortable environment with beautiful scenery. However, it's quite far from the city center, about a 30-minute drive from York's Old Town. If you're not traveling by car, it's not the best choice for accommodation. But if you have a car, it's an excellent option as parking is free. The hotel has two restaurants with good food, but they are very expensive and the portions are small – typical fine dining. If you don't want to spend too much on food, it's best to eat in the city before entering the hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel before and I will definitely be staying again. The location is ideal for me with easy access to the city centre either by walking, bus, or taxi. The rooms have always been very clean and a good size too. The buffet style breakfast is always superb and leisure facilities give you a chance to unwind in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The staff have always been pleasant, friendly, and polite. 5 stars from me!

The hotel is located right by the River Ouse, which is perfect for an evening stroll. It's also not too far from the station and was easy to find. Clifford's Tower is nearby, and all the main tourist attractions are within easy reach. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and spacious. There's also an elevator, which made it easy to move our luggage. I booked this room last minute, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The English breakfast had everything you'd expect, and I was very satisfied with it.

Really lovely staff, bedding could do with an upgrade, but honestly, a good stay. The staff really make up for any shortcomings the hotel may have.

Had a fantastic weekend in York with old friends from afar.. the Radisson York is well located for a great trek around the City .. restaurants and great pubs are all well within comfortable walking distance. The hotel as a great bar for the last nightcap the buffet breakfast is brilliant .The hotel is located on the river with great views of some of the night life and during the day just to relax.. My next time in York will be with the Radisson..and it also offers good parking which is very secure albiet it does come on first come basis.. but overall this hotel is excellant.. thankyou Radisson. Perfect stay! Room is very spacious and very clean. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The location is very strategic as well. Walkable to tourist spots and eatries. The buffer breakfast is beyond expectations! We enjoyed our breakfast. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel. I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax. The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours. Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.
