"It's about a 17-minute walk from the train station, which can be a bit of a trek if you have luggage. You can store your bags for free in the basement before check-in. It's an old building, so there's no elevator, but the staff kindly helped me carry my luggage upstairs when I checked in. The lack of a bed curtain was a slight inconvenience, but overall it was a good stay."

"I accidentally booked for the wrong hotel accidently last minute so it would’ve been nice if they allowed for me to cancel it, but since they didn’t allow for a cancellation fee, it would’ve meant that I’d lose my money for the entire booking, therefore I made sure I attended the night"

Beautiful hotel only 10 minutes walk from the city centre
Our room was clean and cosy
In the room was hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well as tea/coffee facilities and an electric fan which was definitely needed with temps reaching 29 degrees 🥵
The outdoor area was stunning with lots of seating and little pods to dine in of an evening very pretty all lit up at night
All the staff were friendly and helpful
We will definitely return in the near future.

Very close to the train station, just a few minutes' walk away (it seems like cutting through the adjacent George House is the quickest route). There's no bottled water provided, but the hotel's tap water is drinkable. An electric kettle is available. The Western-style breakfast has a good variety. The room is quiet and spacious. The two bath towels weren't together; one was in the bathroom and the other in the sliding wardrobe. The bed is wide and comfortable.

Located within a golf course, the hotel boasts a tranquil, peaceful, and comfortable environment with beautiful scenery. However, it's quite far from the city center, about a 30-minute drive from York's Old Town. If you're not traveling by car, it's not the best choice for accommodation. But if you have a car, it's an excellent option as parking is free.
The hotel has two restaurants with good food, but they are very expensive and the portions are small – typical fine dining. If you don't want to spend too much on food, it's best to eat in the city before entering the hotel.

It's close to the river, making it easy to cross the bridge to the other side where you can find dining, shopping, and entertainment, all within walking distance. There's a supermarket nearby, and a restaurant with a terrace on the opposite side. Other than that, it's quite quiet. Overall, the place is pretty well-maintained.

Guest UserHad a fantastic weekend in York with old friends from afar.. the Radisson York is well located for a great trek around the City .. restaurants and great pubs are all well within comfortable walking distance.
The hotel as a great bar for the last nightcap the buffet breakfast is brilliant .The hotel is located on the river with great views of some of the night life and during the day just to relax..
My next time in York will be with the Radisson..and it also offers good parking which is very secure albiet it does come on first come basis.. but overall this hotel is excellant.. thankyou Radisson.

I had a pleasant stay at Safestay York Micklegate. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of York city centre, the railway station, the city walls, and major attractions. The building has a historic character, which makes the hostel feel more unique than a standard budget hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was smooth. The room was basic but comfortable enough for a short stay, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed. For the price and location, it offers very good value, especially for solo travellers or people looking for affordable accommodation in York.
The only thing to keep in mind is that it is still a hostel, so some noise and shared facilities are expected. Overall, I would recommend it for a budget-friendly stay in a very convenient part of York.

Perfect stay! Room is very spacious and very clean. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The location is very strategic as well. Walkable to tourist spots and eatries. The buffer breakfast is beyond expectations! We enjoyed our breakfast. Highly recommended.

I've stayed at this hotel before and I will definitely be staying again. The location is ideal for me with easy access to the city centre either by walking, bus, or taxi. The rooms have always been very clean and a good size too. The buffet style breakfast is always superb and leisure facilities give you a chance to unwind in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room.
The staff have always been pleasant, friendly, and polite.

YubaoqingThe hotel is right by the city walls, and some rooms even offer views of them. The room was a bit small but very clean and tidy, and it even had a bathtub – perfect for a relaxing soak after exploring the old town. It's only a ten-minute walk to York Minster and The Shambles, and it's wonderfully peaceful to visit them in the mornings and evenings before the crowds arrive. The English breakfast was decent, and you can enjoy views of the old town from the dining area on the first floor.
