Sercotel Ámister Art Hotel

We stayed at Sercotel for two nights after a cruise. This is my third time to Barcelona so I have stayed in a few different areas. The hotel has a rooftop pool (it’s small but nice to dip in) and it is nice to relax up there. The rooms are clean and spacious. We were able to early check in for 10 euros, which was handy. The hotel is in a residential area with lots of supermarkets and cafes around. It is also a quiet area for sleeping. It is a 12 minute walk to Urgell station which can take you to Catalunya square (a main point in Barcelona) and another 12 minute walk to Tarragon station which will take you to Las Ramblas and the cruise port. Both lines with direct travel. Most places take around 20 minutes by public transport or 40 by walking. A single fare on the metro is around 2.50 euros. Having stayed in a few areas in Barcelona, I wouldn’t return to this location. Yes the area is fine but I prefer to base myself around the gothic quarter or within 10 minutes walking to Catalunya square. It can soon become costly getting the metro or taxis to come back to the hotel. When we stayed we had a 30% promotion code so for the price I felt it was okay. Had I paid full price I believe there are better options nearer town. The hotel ordered us a taxi to take us to the airport - I was told the cost upfront which was what I expected it roughly to be. When the taxi arrived it had roughly 8.50 euros already on the meter because it was specially ordered. This is not something the hotel told us about in advance. I asked and was told tbis is because it was ordered in advance.

Hi. This hotel has a great location. Loved our room. In our 5 nights stay, did face a few hiccups which should not have happened in a so-called 3-4 star hotel. 1. At 10.15 am rested the front desk to send housekeeping to clean the room. Called again an hour later, as no one had come. I was told that the room would be cleaned that day and ‘not at my’ prescribed time. Apparently there were 60 rooms that needed to be cleaned. I have stayed in bigger 3-4 star hotels in Europe and Asia and never faced this kind of response. I said as much, and miraculously housekeeping sent a smiling lady to the room in 5-10 minutes. 2. The air conditioning of the room made a fierce noise at intervals when the fan was switched on to its fullest. The hotel sent us a standing fan to be used. 3. There was a 6 inches long rust mark on the side of the bathtub. I wouldn’t have expected better if it was marked as a 1 or 2 star hotel. Barcelona is a beautiful city. God bless it!! ❤️

Property was ok. However did not agree with 4 star rating. Basic facilities. Very noisy at night onside due to all doors to rooms all off a single 7 storey atrium and room walls being very thin.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel! Room was clean and the rooftop was a nice place to relax. The staff was friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would visit this again in the future. The location was good, it is not right in the city center but it is located in a very nice neighborhood with several shops and cafes around.
