3-Star Hotels in Bayreuth

I stayed here for the Bayreuth Festival and would definitely stay again. It's a brand new hotel, only built in 2019 (I think). The rooms were small but modern and spotlessly clean with really good, strong air-conditioning (which is an absolute MUST if you can't cope with hot August temperatures). The location is perfect for the Festspielhaus - only about 12 minutes walk and really close to the train station too. The whole place is bright and modern and there is a really nice bar and seating area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. My only criticism would be that because the windows only take up about half of the external wall then the rooms are quite dark and you can't see very well if you're trying to work or pack a suitcase when it's not daylight hours. There isn't a wardrobe but some coat hangers attached to the wall at the side of the bed - which meant I had all my long evening dresses on display in the room.

We went to Bayreuth for the Ring Cycle at the Festspielhaus and Hotel Goldener Hirsch proved to be the perfect place to stay. It is a comparatively small (40 rooms) family-run (five generations) hotel within 20 minutes walk of the Festspielhaus and just two minutes from the station and buses. The welcome is warm. You soon feel part of the family. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area: transport, places to visit and restaurants. Every year, the hotel shuts for refurbishment and upgrading. The bedrooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Breakfast is a feast: eggs to order and a handsome buffet including cold meat, cheese, fruit, cakes and delicious bread. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and really pulled out the stops when one of us needed medical attention. A room was found for the other guest without making any fuss. We shall visit again next year. Where else would we stay?

Die wenigen positiven Punkte! Die Lage des Hotels ist zentrumsnah. Das kostenpflichtige Sammeltaxi zum Festspielhaus kam pünktlich. Die damalige Mitarbeiterin am Empfang war sehr freundlich. Ich hatte mich sehr auf die Bewertungen verlassen und bin sehr enttäuscht worden. Finger weg von der Lohmühle, wenn Sie gewisse Ansprüche an Sauberkeit, Service und Zuverlässigkeit haben. Starke Verschmutzungen im Badezimmer und Dusche. Die Schimmelbildung und Schmutzverkrustungen kommen auch nicht von ein paar Tagen, oder Wochen schlechter Reinigung und auch nicht von zu hartem Wasser, wie mir die Hotelleitung erklärte. Hier müsste eben überhaupt gereinigt werden. Nicht nur punktuell, sondern auch an die Gegebenheiten angepasst. Ebenso gab es stark ausgefranste Handtücher die so nicht mehr im Gästebereich Gebrauch finden sollten. Angeblich wurden alle entsorgt. Beim erneuten Aufenthalt ein Monat später, präsentierte sich jedoch wieder ein ähnliches Bild. Das Zimmer hatte keine Klimaanlage. Bei den hochsommerlichen Temperaturen hätte also zumindest Nachts ein Fenster geöffnet werden müssen. Dieses zog ich jedoch vor zu schließen. Durch das beim Bezug des Zimmers bereits offenstehende Fenster kamen unzählige Ameisen. Diese tummelten sich in der Balkonbepflanzung im 2. Stock. Die Ameisen waren auch schon im Zimmer unterwegs und ich wollte sie nicht noch als Andenken an einen schrecklichen Hotelaufenthalt mit nachhause nehmen. Das Zimmer und Mobiliar hatte wohl die Glanzzeit vor sehr langer Zeit. Die Auskunft auf der Homepage bezüglich des Restaurants stimmte leider auch nicht. Während der Festspiele gibt es auch Gerichte an den Sonntagen. Ein Fehler von mir dieses Angebot, dort zu Essen anzunehmen. Obwohl fast die ganze Terrasse vor dem Hotel frei war hatte man mich an einen abschüssigen Tisch am Rand platziert. Das Gericht mit Sosse wurde servierten und erst mal durch die Schräge des Tischs großzügig auf der Tischdecke verteil und dort zwar etwas mit einer Serviette festgeklopft, jedoch weder die Tischdecke gewechselt, noch wurde ich an einen sauberen Tisch umgesetzt. Es erfolgte eine Invasion von Schmeißfliegen. Den Restaurantbesuch kann ich also auch nicht empfehlen. Da noch ein nicht stornierbarer Hotelaufenthalt bereits gebucht war habe ich den Kontakt mit der Hotelleitung gesucht. Es gab viele nicht plausible Erklärung und auch Versprechungen für den nächsten Aufenthalt. Nach Aufenthalt zwei weiss ich nun: Verlassen Sie sich nicht auf Zusagen. Es geht hier nicht um den Gast, sondern rein und ausschließlich um den Profit. Mit Hotellerie hat das nichts zu tun. This hotel has a good environment, complete facilities, clean and tidy and comfortable

Except for the prices and the parking, which is a bit inconvenient due to the fact that every time you want to go out, you might need to call at the reception, since your car might be at the underground level, no further complaints.

We were repeatedly in the First Boarding as a base station for the party game visit. A quiet, convenient accommodation in the positive sense. The suite - next to the kitchenette (we like to cook breakfast on our own instead of standard bricks with standard cookies) - also offers a separate bedroom, a dining table, a small sofa (limited cozy ;) and a spacious shower and a separate toilet. Sufficient space in the dressing box, room safe, parking possibility in the deep garage (also for fat cars). Located at convenient location. A walk can be made in the surrounding area, to the green or in a few minutes to Villa Wahnfried, Liszt Museum, New Castle / Hofgarten and Old Town. Recommendation for all who like to renounce luxury and Butler and want to have their maintained rest.
