The beach of Mao Ball really doesn't want to hold too high expectations. This is the third home in Mao Ball. A piece of paradise! The location is amazing! The hotel is located between two popular, beautiful beaches: Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches. There's a bus stop nearby to the north of the island and Port Louis. Also nearby (on the left, if you're facing the ocean) is a boat launch where you can go dolphin watching and swim with turtles. The sunrises here are breathtakingly beautiful – a must-see! We were greeted very warmly and warmly. We were checked in within 5 minutes, which was very important after a long two-day flight. The food was incredibly delicious! Special thanks to the chefs and all the restaurant staff, especially Brinda (quest relation) and Priscilla. Also, I don't remember her name, but there's a wonderful employee who speaks Russian. She's a very nice person and always helped with any questions. Overall, the entire staff is like one big family. During my stay on the island, I had a birthday, and the hotel staff very touchingly congratulated me on it and gave me a huge, delicious cake. I would happily return to this hotel!

We really liked the hotel: comfortable, cozy, quiet at night, first line, private clean beach with a beautiful view, which was cleaned every morning especially for the comfort of guests. The only thing to consider is that you definitely need to rent a car here, because taxis are expensive and take a long time to wait. But we rented a car, so everything was great. I played golf on the local course, and my wife and I also went to the spa, where Kevina and Sweta gave us a very good massage. There are a lot of small lizards on the territory, but this is a typical story for Mauritius, there are a number of insects that the staff actively fights, and at breakfast you can be bothered by rather impudent sparrows. But the hotel was so good that we did not pay attention to these little things. In general, the hotel is top. I recommend it. Despite the four stars in the hotel rating, it is much higher than many five-star Turkish hotels.

The hotel itself is quite good, a standard five-star property with excellent hardware and good service, located right by the sea. In terms of location, it's a bit far from the main attractions, and there aren't many shops or restaurants outside the hotel, so you're pretty much confined to the hotel premises. Every room is a sea-view room, and overall, the rooms are lovely. The front faces the ocean, and the back has a garden where many little yellow birds have built nests. The hotel has several swimming pools. Swimming in the sea is also an option, though the water was a bit chilly in the mornings. The beach isn't very fine, with some rocky areas, but it's still great for photos, and the sunsets are beautiful. The hotel beach offers complimentary paddleboards and other facilities. We also booked a free snorkeling trip that lasted over an hour, where a boat took us out to the reef. The captain and crew were very attentive, keeping a close eye on my husband, who isn't a strong swimmer. It felt like they were ready to jump in and save him at any moment, haha. I had a great time with some other guests (who were white) and saw many fish, although a lot of the coral has bleached. We stayed for three days, eating two meals a day at the hotel. The main restaurant maintained good quality, with rotating menus; one day featured Mauritian cuisine, and another was a seafood buffet, where we enjoyed unlimited sea urchin. There are two other restaurants as well. We booked the beachfront restaurant one evening, and while the sunset was stunning, the Western food was truly awful. We promptly canceled our reservation at the other Japanese restaurant and went back to the main dining hall. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel; all the staff are enthusiastic, and the service is very attentive.

Compare to Lux Belle Mare and Lux Grand Baie, Lux le morne is a disappointment in terms of service level. The structure of the buildings look nostalgic but it’s well maintained. The level of hygiene seems to be high. I love the beach which has the best on the island. But it is a shame they couldn’t utilise this. If you imagine the other two lux hotels I mentioned above are for Waitrose and harrods sippers then this le morne hotel is for Tesco shoppers. They made mistakes in billing and quality of drinks is mediocre. I can do better at home.

Amazing stay at Salt of Palmar!!! Boutique, 16+ Hotel located on the east side of the island, on the first line. Great beach with amazing sunrises. Lots of sea activities are included with your stay. Quiet, spacious rooms. Great spa. Curated menu in the restaurant and opportunity to book a special dinner with a chef. Great wine and international cocktail selection. Professionaly trained staff and the management team lead by Mr. Med will make you stay exceptional

Nice stay and helpful staff, but for one person at the reception who doesn't seem to know what hospitality means. Very clean and confortable room, good breakfast buffet, though dinner buffet is sometimes of lesser quality. The staff is overally very nice, I recommend to stay there if you have a rental car, or you prefer to stay and relax by the pool or beach.
