Hyatt Place Chicago Midway Airport

The first night our temp would not go below 74-75 no matter where we set the thermostat. The next day we left for the day & evening. I told the staff about that and they said it would be fixed. We got back late at night to find it was g fixed, it was now warmer, and the hvac closet was wide open and would not close.. Housekeeping never came to our room. When I complained the next morning I was told the hvac system was designed to only turn on when there was movement in the room. I clarified, “so it doesn’t work when I’m sleeping in bed and not moving?” She said yes, that is the case. That is insane. Finally though after the 2nd day it miraculously got fixed and we got housekeeping.

Hyatt Place Chicago Midway is less than a 10-minute drive from the airport, MDW, and about 40-minute drive from O'Hare, ORD. The hotel offers complimentary parking and a complimentary courtesy shuttle from Midway that runs 24/7 together with DoubleTree. The lobby area has the reception, nice seating options, breakfast area as well as a bar and restaurant with the option of Starbucks coffee. At the back of the lobby is a small business centre and the departure screen of the airport. You will also find a good size gym at the ground level and a indoor pool. The rooms are nice and big and designed for longer stays with a living area, bedroom and a work desk. There is plenty of both restaurants and shopping within a few minutes drive.

Uncomfy beds and lack of bedding. Service was not up to expectation. When we brought up concerns to the front desk we were turned away or told that there’s nothing they could do. Incredibly frustrating

We were at the hotel to celebrate my husband’s birthday over the weekend. I found this hotel on the internet and had never been there before and to my amazement, this was one of the best hotel selections I’ve ever made over the internet!! Our room was clean, nice size, bed comfortable and location was excellent with many restaurants and other businesses nearby. The staff was super professional and friendly! We will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Chicago! 💕

I have a mixed review, and mostly very good. So I’ll start off with the not so good. We rented 3 rooms for our families, and 2 of the rooms had dirty/stained sheets and blankets. We didn’t have any luck trying to get them changed for us. I think my sister stopped trying however she did try. So that was a downer. And there were no microwaves in the rooms, we must have missed that memo. But as far as the great, the hotel staff was amazing. They were so kind, so friendly, accommodating on the questions and favors I had, especially Ash and Cessa (hopefully I spelled her name right) They made us feel right at home, even though we were 1200 miles away. If it wasn’t for them and the other front desk workers, I truly feel I would have left with a different mindset. They are why we absolutely loved our stay as much as we did!

I stayed at this hotel to catch an early flight. Overall, the stay was average. The service was average, with minimal interaction and engagement from the staff. The hotel itself was comfortable; nothing troubling. Shuttles run every half an hour.

It was clean, in great condition, and beds were comfortable.
