Hotels near Tulipan, Berlin

Für zwei Nächte an einem langen Wochenende haben wir uns das IBB Berlin Airport ausgesucht - vor allem, weil es das letzte Hotel mit verträglichen Preisen war. Das Hotel liegt etwa 12 Minuten Fußweg von der Haltestelle Schöneweide entfernt. Der Weg ist eben und flach. Eine Straßenbahn (27/67) fährt von Schöneweide aus bis direkt vor den Hotel-Eingang. Von Schöneweide aus gibt es reichlich Verbindungen zum Flughafen und in die Stadt. Bis in die Stadt, z.B. Potsdamer Platz, ist man allerdings mindestens eine halbe Stunde bis Stunde unterwegs. Im direkten Umfeld des Hotels gibt es absolut gar nichts von touristischem Interesse: Keine Bars, Kneipen, Clubs, Restaurants, Imbisse, Dönerbuden, Supermärkte, Kioske, Spätis. Das ist alles an der Haltestelle Schöneweide. Das Hotel ist ein flacher, langer Klotz mit Zimmern auf beiden Seiten eines Flurs. Die Zimmer sind schlicht und funktional eingerichtet: Bett, große Ablage, Hocker, zwei kleine Nachttische, eine kleine Schrankwand. Das Bett ist relativ hart, und wir fanden es etwas klein. Das Zimmer lässt sich durch große Vorhänge zwar abdunkeln, es wird aber nicht ganz dunkel, da auf beiden Seiten vor den Fenstern Lampen stehen. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern wird es relativ still, bei geöffneten Fenstern muss man mit mittlerem Verkehrslärm rechnen. Lauter ist es vom Flur her: Die Zimmertüren fallen auf den letzten fünf Zentimetern laut krachend zu, so dass teilweise die Wände wackeln - und so ab acht oder neun hört man das dauerthaft. Neben dem Bett gibt es Steckdosen und individuelle Nachtischlampen. Auch an der Ablage gibt es eine Steckdose. Das WLAN fanden wir stabil und schnell, der Speedtest sagt 50 MBit. Video-Calls waren unterbrechungsfrei möglich. Die Zimmer haben keine Klimaanlage, und wurden selbst im Mai schon relativ warm. Das Bad ist mittelgroß, und mit einer relativ großen Dusche ausgestattet. Am Spiegel gibt es eine große Ablage, sonst gibt es im Bad keine Ablagen. Den Wasserdruck fanden wir gut, die Temperatur blieb stabil, war jedoch eher warm als heiss. Die Dusche hat eine Handbrause, wir haben es jedoch nicht geschafft, diese zu aktivieren. Da die Dusche offen ist, findet sich danach ein wenig Wasser auf dem Bad-Boden wieder, man muss ein bisschen aufpassen. Bad und Zimmer waren sehr sauber, alles Mobiliar in Ordnung. Das Personal ist freundlich und zugänglich. Wir würden rein vom Hotel hier erneut übernachten, und es auch für Flughafen-Anfahrten berücksichtigen - für die Lage am Rande von allem ziehen wir jedoch einen Stern ab.

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a room overlooking the Berlin Wall which was really nice. Room was spotless and cleaned every day and had everything you needed for a stay. Breakfast was really good with a wide selection on the buffet. Location was great with a bus stop right outside taking you to central Berlin and also the train station at Ostbahnhof which wasn't a far walk anyway, maybe 10 minutes. Mercedesplatz was just behind the hotel too which was really good and had a wide range of places to eat and drink and always a great atmosphere. wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when in Berlin.

I went to this hotel for a mid-week vacation with my lovely daughter. With an UBER it was about 10 Euro to get to the hotel. Check-in was smooth, the older man behind the desk wasnt overly friendly but rather efficient and that was fine. We paid the tourist-tax and got one room-key for our room. We paid online about 80 Euro a night and we got a room with three beds at the back. The room was clean and simple. A desk with a big-screen TV, a shower-room with a toilet and a wash-basin. The shower was ok but we didnt like the shower-curtains. Also the water would be warm for about five minutes but it didnt bother us. Everyday cleaning with new linen and towels. In the morning you can have breakfast but you have to pay for it. We didnt use it. The hotel is set conveniently in the middle of Berlin near Kurfurstenstrasse and Dam. Near the U-Bahn and busses.

I recently visited this hotel with my boyfriend and I was very impressed. We arrived a little before check-in and we were allowed to go to our room. the room was very spacious with an extremely comfy bed and amazing shower. Also on the last day our flight was not for a while and were were allowed to wait in the lobby after checkout which had lovely sofas and seating areas. It was quiet and there were people working in there. The staff were very lobely and was great for the price.

I stayed only two nights at a&o Berlin Mitte with Contiki, the stay was comfortable. The four-share rooms were very small and a bit tricky to fit our four suitcases. We also had a run-in with staff at the front desk. For a four-share room, we only got two keys. When a member of our group asked for a spare key, she was denied then given a temporary card and was rudely told to bring it right back - but how could she get back into the room to bring it back??? Others in our tour had the same experience. Besides that, the breakfast was great.

This hotel has 5 room types, i booked an Executive apartment, which if the second top room type. I am a solo traveller, but liked the room layout and the extra space. I checked in on 30/03/22 for 3 nights and was allocated room 107. On opening the door i immediately thought it did not exactly resemble the pics i had seen for an Executive Apartment, it was big enough, but just not what i was expecting. The kitchen area was locked up with a shutter over it, which i thought strange. I literally just in the room for 5 minutes and went out exploring. I checked with reception about the kitchen being looked and they asked if i wanted it unlocked to use, yes, that's why i booked that room type, the fridge with freezer compartment for ice and cold drinks. I came back about 5 hours later and the kitchen was indeed unlocked. I was going to shower and looked for the bath robe and slippers which should be in the room, but nothing was there. it was at this point i was sure this was not the room type i had booked. I checked on my phone and looking at the specifications was sure i had been given the wrong room type. I went to reception to enquire and spoke to the duty manager, he printed off 2 pages to show the difference between an Executive Apartment and an Apartment (the top room type), although the same pics had been used to advertise both room types, there were some differences and he stated that my room was larger than most in the hotel. I was still unsure, but accepted what he said and i collected a bathrobe and slippers, the reason they are not already in the room was due to ongoing Covid restrictions. I still felt that i was in the room room type, it was large, but a lot of the room was taken up by a wet room, which was adapted for a wheelchair user and this made the room an awkward space with a lot of dead space. As it turned out, my flight home was cancelled and i ended up staying only 2 nights, so didn't pursue things further. On returning home i checked the room specifications on the website and room 107 is not up to the specifications advertised or as soon in the pics. two main reasons. 1) Executive Apartments have a sofa/sofa bed and can sleep up to 3 people, room 107 had no sofa/sofa bed and this room could only sleep 2 people max. 2) Executive Apartments have a separate seating area, a table and chairs where you can sit and eat, this is clearly shown in the pics too. This was not in room 107. The only seating was a chair at the desk and one other chair. I think room 107 is a superior room adapted for a wheelchair user, but was given to me as i was a solo traveller and dd not need the capacity to sleep 3. I wanted the sofa/sofa bed to sit on and relax, that's why i booked a room with that in it. I am only writing this review, as 3 emails have gone unanswered, one to novum hotels 10/04/22 and two direct to the hotel 12/04/22 and 20/04/22. Changed to this hotel due to it's location. It's a few minutes walk from the sub way and 40 minutes walk to Aleksandraplatz

The hotel is clean, modern and well-staffed. What was missing for us was warmth and the expected level of hospitality. During our 5-day stay, nobody ever said hello, goodbye or communicated in any manner unless we asked a direct question. When I checked out, the only thing the receptionist said was to remind me I had borrowed an electrical adaptor and to return it. I travel frequently and expect hotels to be warm and welcoming. Also, when I checked in I was given no hotel information other than the E25 breakfast hours. I'm sure it's wonderful, but I since only have coffee, there is no reason to pay 25 euros. Because we didn't go to breakfast and the receptionist didn't tell us, we missed many features of the hotel we might have enjoyed. To further our disappointing stay, there was no printed hotel info in our room other than a book about the featured artist. I hate QR codes, but when I scanned the hotel's, it gave sp**** information. The hotel lobby isn't welcoming and I didn't go to the bar until my last night so was unaware of all the things Art'otel would have liked me to know. The magazine was interesting and beautiful. Why isn't there a copy in guest rooms? The local information and maps were available in the breakfast area, but we didn't go there and weren't offered them by hotel staff. One of the reasons I chose the hotel was the pictures of beautiful bathrooms with tubs. Sadly, the website fails to mention that tubs are only available in expensive suites. Our visit, while nice, was overpriced. We paid for hospitality and a good room, but only the room was up to the expected standards. Very disappointing.

Everything without a problem. Good breakfast. Elevator. Only a few parking spaces. You can park on the street. Pleasant surroundings of single-family houses. Perfect for a short stay. Quiet, no parties.

By the time this incident happened, I have already completed a 4 days stay in the hotel and was willing to increase my stay. For that purpose, I went to Mrs. Hausweld and asked to please consult the availability and the price of the rooms for extra nights. In response, I was told that the final price, including the city tax for 3 additional nights would be 350 euros with breakfast included. Consequently, I was willing to go along with that reservation and requested to pay by card. Afterward, then Mrs. Hausweld offered me the POS terminal to go along with the payment, and the amount ascended to 419 euros. Due to that unexpected difference, I kindly asked for an explanation and was told that 419 euros were the final price, and if I was not happy with it I would need to leave the hotel immediately. As a result, I kindly refused to pay that amount and asked her to please consult the price for two nights instead of three. In response to that, the front desk manager told me that no more rooms were available for me and that I needed to check out now and leave the hotel. Following that conversation, I went on Booking.com and reserved a room for the same days, without breakfast, and surprisingly rooms were still available. Next, I went to the front desk and asked to please pay for my booking Mrs. Hausweld looked at me in an unfriendly manner and told me she could not find any reservation. After 5 minutes of searching, she could finally open my booking. Then, although I already provided a credit card in my booking, she asked me to show it to her because she was not believing that it was not mine. I answered that the card was in effect mine and offered her to have a look, but it did not have any numbers on it. So she got ahead to request me to write down my credit card details, including the CVV code, on a piece of paper as ”a security”. Afterward, I was asked again by her if I would like breakfast or not, despite I selected the no breakfast option on booking.com. A moment later I was offered the POS terminal to pay by card, which stated an amount 30 euros higher that the price I booked the room for on this site. Due to the reoccurrence of the same, previous situation again, I refused to pay and respectfully asked her why the price was higher again. Mrs. Hauweld answered in a very disrespectful manner that I asked her to have breakfast included and that I was confusing her again. After that situation, I kindly asked them to speak with her supervisor. She answered, that she had no supervisor and was the only person working in the hotel for the whole weekend. That experience left me in complete disbelief of her professionality and her being in that important role in the hotel. However, despite that bad experience with that particular staff member, I would like to note that the other front desk managers were very friendly and helpful at all times.
