Show on Map
Perched on Bournemouths famous East Cliff, Carlton Hotel, BW Signature Collection by Best Western offers dramatic views across the bay. Built in the Victorian era, the hotel has a rich history and has attracted some illustrious guests over the years, including Harold Macmillan, Bobby Moore and General Eisenhower, who debated D-Day landing plans with Field Marshal Montgomery over lunch at the hotel during World War Two. Meander down the path from the clifftop and youll be basking on the golden sands in no time, while a 15-minute walk along the seafront takes you to the Oceanarium and Bournemouth Pier. Heading out of town, wander among the flowerbeds at Boscombe Chine Gardens or dig for fossils along the Jurassic Coast. Our business guests are within walking distance of Bournemouth International Centre for conferences and exhibitions, and we deliver fantastic lunch and afternoon tea stops for tour groups. When youre not out and about, theres plenty to keep you occupied in the hotel itself. Our outdoor pool is surrounded by sun loungers and palm trees, giving it a distinctly tropical feel, and you can enjoy a sizzling summer feast from our pizza ovens and barbecues. Indoors, theres a gym, heated swimming pool and sauna. Many of our 83 guest rooms have views across the bay, and some also feature a private balcony for gazing out to sea. We have spacious family rooms and luxury suites for those who really want to push the boat out. Alternatively, you can make yourself at home in one of self-catering apartments with private patios.Show More

The beach is right in front of you and the view is great. The staff are also very friendly. There are outdoor and indoor pools (the indoor one is heated) and you can get drinks at the bar. If you don't ask for your room to be cleaned and just use your towels etc, you will receive a drink voucher. We had a relaxing time.

Booked as a last minute, lovely hotel.. Reception staff could not of been more helpful. We got upgraded to a sea view, and the room was spacious & lovely. .. there’s a lovely grandness to the hotel , so I felt sad that the smallest of Maintenon job that I noticed let it down, for example , the conference room opposite the reception curtain we’re hanging off it’s rail. So simple to rectify I’m sure. Bar drinks, VERY overly priced . Didn’t use the Spa as closed at 6pm . I would return to this hotel., as stated the reception ladies were smiley, & helpful.

The subject hotel is sitting cliff front near the ocean, natural breeze with easy access to the beach below the cliff. Breakfast and Dinner offers wide spread choice. Room are newly renovated, tasteful design and spacious. Front desk staff name Kelly is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

I had a phone call from my ex partner saying she had fallen in the hotel. She had informed me that she had received first aid but no one took it upon themselves to call an ambulance considering she is heavily pregnant with complications and also had three toddlers in her care. She told me she had spoken to a duty manager who did not have any consideration or even cared about the situation she also lied about the hotel manager I arrived at the hotel to speak to the duty manager who came across as very invasive and passive aggressive she walked away from when I started to record her I did this because she became very unpredictable and was lying. She then admitted she had lied in the recording. I went to reception to ask for her name The blonde foreign Woman refused to give me the duty mangers name this so I could make a complaint about her. The receptionist the blonde Woman behaved very unprofessionally and accused me of being scary however she did not have a problem with me before I was according the interaction. If the manager of this hotel does not respond proficiently to this civil action will be taken and the whole video will be uploaded on social media platforms to expose this disgusting behaviour from two individuals and I will not cover that identity. I will do a part two if the managers response isn’t acceptable or reasonable. Thank you to Helen who was very reasonable and the first aider Who took care of my ex partner? We are regular customers to this hotel. This is not how anyone should be treated.

Although the staff were very friendly. The hotel is very dated. The leisure access was a lot to be desired. The pool was nice however the spa pool was empty and didn’t seem to have been used in some time! The sauna was out of action, showers in both locker rooms out of action. Was very disappointed as this was me of the reasons I booked this hotel. I believe you should be told if there are things that are not working especially in the spa before booking. Very dishonest. The room was spacious however very dated. The bed was very uncomfortable and pillows basically flat. Parking very expensive. How you can charge so much after spending so much staying at a hotel to begin with is beyond me! I know you need to deter people not staying at the hotel parking there but why is there no free parking for guests!

The view was fab. All the staff were very friendly nothing to much trouble. Food & service good. We parked out on the road which work well for us. The only issue in room was the water pressure for shower, bath etc they tried to rectify but no success. We enjoyed our two night staff. The Hotel could do with a bit of tlc.

Overall a good experience, staff are really friendly and welcoming, it has a lovely warm feel. Family room is very big, more like 2 full rooms, both have ensuites, one with a bath which was great, both rooms had TV. The pool area is not so great, outdoor pool was clean but freezing (even on a hot August day) and indoor pool wasn't very clean, got busy very quick and the jacuzzi and sauna weren't working. Breakfast was an absolute delight and the kids ate free. Fantastic location for attending the air festival! Would have been better if beds were more comfortable, fridge available (youngest child still drinks milk so we bought our own mini fridge) and we had 1 very ineffective fan on its last legs, which during a heatwave wasn't ideal. Reception did find us a spare fan though so again the staff were faultless!
