There is no hotel next to the hotel Shops and restaurants, eat in the hotel restaurant, the food in the restaurant is typical British food

Lovely lady on reception who works many hours , very kind and caring when we arrived late from a 200mile journey from up north and our room smelt fusty of urine. The hotel was full but she offered us options but it was too late. She offered to move us the next day but our children had unpacked. Just please note premier inn that room 41 carpet is worn and smelly and cold and damp . Room service was excellent and the lovely lady cleaned it again and gave us new towels - they did try. They are a lovely team :-) Breakfast was nice and the ladies were kind caring and attentive. The pub is no longer a brewers fayre due to premier inn closing most restaurants down so it’s only for hotel guests so it’s becoming run down in comparison to other years we’ve stayed here. The worse thing was the bar shut at 10pm and on the door it said 11pm so my husband who likes to work on his laptop and have a beer while I settle the kids was told it had closed! Shame as this hotel and pub was lovely and it’s now being run down like most premier inns and the poor business management plan where staff have to do everything housekeeping, breakfast, run the pub it’s just not sustainable or good for existing staff in our opinion

We stayed in the Premier Inn this weekend as we were going to Lapland UK very early the following day. I had booked it in March and found the price for a family room very reasonable. My children (6 and 5) had never stayed in a hotel so it was our first time in a family room. We were happy with everything in our room. As always the double bed was amazing and so comfortable. I would say that the extra bed was very uncomfortable and felt rock hard. I understand it was an extra bed but a bit disappointing when you’re used to the usual Premier Inn standard of bed. Only other thing I would mention is the shower was very temperamental. But we loved our stay and my partner and children had a great nights sleep. The one thing I’d like to mention is the amazing lady who checked us in at reception - so sorry I didn’t get your name. My children are both autistic and sometimes struggle with new people but she was so good with them and asking them all about their trip to Lapland. This personal touch really added to the stay for my children and I am very grateful. She even brought some colouring and letters to Santa down to the room a few minutes after we’d checked in. I’ve never had bad customer service from a Premier Inn but have never had such good personal service either. Thank you so much
