Sokcho-si Hotels with Free Breakfast

Seems almost brand new with clean and quiet including surroundings. Highly recommend to everybody who has plan to visit Sockcho downtown. Having good memory of very friendly receptionist, my lazy late morning started even after passing a simple breakfast toast and coffee. My single bed seemed hard feeling to me, cos it might be my getting old age style. Enjoyable stay.

This is a superb hotel. Location is excellent, 10 mins walk to the Express bus terminal, 5 mins to bus stop and emart, 15 mins walk to beach. Easy base to hike Serokysan. Room is new and clean, spacious, modern and high pressure shower. Good machine coffee at lobby. Highly recommended!

I booked this hotel because I wanted a room with an ocean and sunrise view, and it was absolutely wonderful. Even better, I arrived a bit late, past the check-in deadline, after getting off work, but the owner kindly welcomed me, which I really appreciated. They even upgraded my room from what I originally booked, making it so much easier to accommodate my parents. Thank you again for that! If I ever visit Sokcho again, I'll definitely stay here! I spent three nights at this hotel located not far from the entrance to Seorak National Park. So let's start at the beginning by stating that this was one of the main criteria that guided my choice and helped me narrow down the wide range of hotels in Sokcho. I wanted to be within easy reach of the reserve since I'm a hiking enthusiast. A word of advice, though: take a taxi, which will likely drop you off below the parking area. This way, you'll be sure to arrive well warmed up before your trekking session. But I'm getting further away from the hotel... A second element, logically related to the above, if, like me, you were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to rest after your workout, you've found it. A true haven of peace... perfect for a good night's sleep, except in exceptional circumstances, since the first night I had a serious snorer, and since the walls aren't very thick... I won't draw you a picture. Breakfast is available by informing reception the night before. For the price, don't miss out. Room cleaning is also available, just request it in the lobby. The rooms are remarkably clean, although not very spacious. But the hotel offers almost all the usual amenities one would expect in addition to the room amenities: toiletries, free 5G internet access, bottled water, French coffee pods (be careful, there's a catch) and green tea... Unfortunately, when it came time to extend my stay by one night to rest in the dry - the weather is very bad in Korea right now - reservations were fully booked due to Chuseok - Korean Thanksgiving - a major family reunion event where ancestors are honored... needless to say, this is also the most difficult time to find accommodation and, of course, the most expensive for us as guests. Prices easily double. Keep this in mind if you come to Korea, and especially if possible, book in advance during the fall holidays. Unfortunately, shortly after booking elsewhere, a room became available... And where I landed, I quickly found myself in a completely different world, with a clientele and atmosphere that were the opposite of what I had so enjoyed at the Amaranth Hotel. So British in a very nice way...isn't it?

1. Poor Room Layout and Lack of Consideration for Female Guests There is no dressing table/vanity. Without one, there should at least be a mirror positioned where I can sit down to apply makeup, but the only mirror is located by the entrance (where you put on shoes). I tried using the bathroom instead, but the lighting is so poorly placed that it reflects off the mirror, making it impossible to see my face clearly. Furthermore, the hairdryer cord is so short that I can’t even look in the mirror while drying my hair. The lack of consideration for female guests is appalling. 2. Unreasonable Trash Disposal Policy Guests are required to sort and dispose of their own recycling. I don’t understand why a guest staying at a hotel is expected to do the housekeeping. To make matters worse, the trash disposal area has no roof, so if it’s raining, you have to either hold an umbrella or just get soaked while throwing away the trash. 3. Unmanaged AV Room There is an AV/Game room, but no staff members are stationed there to manage it. This means if one team decides to monopolize the equipment and play for hours, there is no way to intervene. There is clearly no oversight or system in place to ensure all guests get a fair turn.

Overall had a pleasant stay, no issues! Room was clean, TV was big and had a lot of options to watch, bathroom was alright (hot water was great), location is quite close to down town but nothing much to do around the hotel apart from eating seafood. However, it was nice that a 7eleven is connect right to the hotel so it was easy to get quick snacks and supplies. If you are bringing a car, just be aware that parking fills up quick and it's also quite tight (which is common in Korea).

I have stayed here before to hike Seoraksan. This time, I had a nicer room; however, because it is near the mountains and older, there was a huge house centipede on the ceiling when I got there. Luckily, the bug spray they had worked on it. Other than that, there were some small stains on the bedding, but everything else was clean. The bed was comfortable, and the location is about 55 minutes walking distance from Seoraksan National Park. It's only about an 8 minute taxi drive there if not too much traffic. There is a beautiful river/stream nearby. This place is also only about a 16 minute drive from the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. Obviously, I like this place enough to stay again. Breakfast was toast, cereal, and you could make eggs/a toast sandwich I believe.

The accommodation for the Sokcho trip with my two sons was clean and the space was separated, which made it even better. It was a hotel with great value for money at a low price because it was a weekday. The breakfast was also simple and good. I definitely plan to use it again on my next trip to Sokcho!^^

Pros: Prime Location: Only a 5-minute walk to the beach and Sokcho Eye. Very close to the Express Bus Terminal, with plenty of minimarts and restaurants nearby. Dining: A famous Red Crab Buffet is just a 10-minute walk away. Other city attractions are a quick 10–15 minute taxi ride. The View: The balcony offers a beautiful ocean view and a clear sight of the Sokcho Eye. Amenities: TV has Netflix (bring your own login). Bathroom essentials are provided, though toothbrushes/toothpaste cost a small extra fee. Cons: Balcony Maintenance: The mosquito screen was torn, and there were quite a few bird droppings on the balcony floor. Overall: Perfect for those prioritizing convenience and views!

An exceptionally located nest for travellers visiting Seoraksan.. the best part about this place are the people who run the show.. Mr Lee Inwon and his family members.. very warm, hospitable, friendly people.. The guidance I received from them really made my trip absolutely worth it.. and I look forward to it again.. the sit out lounge reminds one of a family living room.. Thank you Mr Lee for such a wonderful experience
