Minimalistic hotel rooms well located off Silent Beach in Tangalle. Nice communal pool and a small amount of rooms makes the villa quite tranquil and never busy. The staff are wonderful and the chef cooks delicious food which is all very reasonably priced. I just recommend you stay away from beef in this country as it’s quite inedible, this seems a common theme whether you’re buying a cheap burger or an expensive beef dish. The only detractions to the accomodation was a foul odour emanating from the shower in the mornings, but it did dissipate thereafter. Also I find there is little point of an in-room safe if it isn’t bolted to the ground. You can literally walk in and pick the safe up and exit the room making it redundant. Rooms are well appointed and well priced for the area given the two luxury alternatives are the Amanwella resort which is quite dated and much more expensive and the Anantara Peace Haven which is more expensive but also a fantastic product. The local beach here is beautiful. I would stay here again, but I expect rooms will be hard to come by as the country lacks 5 star resorts at this time. I would stay here again no doubt and recommend the property.

Lankavatara offers a peaceful, secluded escape. The beach is beautiful and, for most of our stay, we had it almost entirely to ourselves. Do be aware that the sea is very rough, so it’s generally not suitable for swimming. The rooms have a rustic charm with basic amenities. While comfortable enough, I personally wouldn’t rate the property as a 4-star hotel. The Wi-Fi was also quite weak, which may be worth considering if you need a reliable internet connection. The staff were always willing to help when asked, although the service sometimes felt a little disingenuous and not always delivered with genuine warmth. Food service could also be quite slow at times, so it’s best to allow plenty of time for meals. One of the highlights of our stay was the surrounding area. A special mention goes to Upoint Restaurant, which serves exceptional home-cooked Sri Lankan seafood. The hosts there were incredibly welcoming and made for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we had a lovely stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, unspoilt beach, simple accommodation, and don’t mind a more relaxed pace of service, Lankavatara is a pleasant place to unwind.

What a top stay we had! From the beginning to the end everything was perfectly arranged. They did everything they could for you, they were always educated and if they weren't working with us, they were working to clean up the stay. The food was really nice everything was fresh made and tasted super good! Also with our morning safari they provided a top breakfast The location is top in 30 minutes you are at Yala National Park, you can go to the village with a tuktuk but we thought it was just nice to be outside the safari at the hotel. The swimming pool was enjoyed and relaxed. It is that we can't give stars anymore because they really deserve this!

This is a great property close to zone 1. The villas are spacious and comfortable. The service is absolutely amazing. The breakfast spread was something out of a movie - just an over-abundance of food! The property has a serious jungle vibe - which some may like. For us, it was a bit much. Monkeys on your roof most of the night making noise. Tons of bugs in the villa and in the pool. Power in and out periodically (never out for long). All that said, I’d stay there again someday, just not with a five year old. It’s extremely isolated - need a driver to get in and out (again, which some may appreciate). the hotel is a wonderful of modern architecture and nature, you can lie comfortably on your bed while watching the monkeys climb down your balcony.  If you are afraid of wild animals, don’t book a ground floor pool suite, rather take a room upstairs.

Сам отель неплохой, именно в этом районе подобных мало. Большой номер, вид отличный, завтрак стандартный, персонал старается. Сам пляж именно перед отелем не очень, но если пройтись левее, там уже поинтереснее. Справа грязноватая рыбацкая деревня. Рядом есть различные кафе, можно что-нибудь выбрать.

Set a quadruple room, in fact, can live 6 or 7 people no problem 😄 The hotel is located on the edge of the lake. Since we are going to Yarra National Park to see wildlife the next morning, the store packed breakfast for us very early.

This hotel was part of our tour group booking, and it's popular with Western tourists. The room was reasonably clean and tidy. There's no elevator, but the staff were helpful with luggage. The swimming pool was decent, though it got a bit chilly in the evening. The price, which included breakfast and dinner, was quite good. Drinks at dinner cost extra, but the buffet food was pretty good.
