A lovely hotel in the fabulous Clifton part of Bristol! great for a short stay and lovely staff and atmosphere! recommended!! I stayed for one night abd everything was comfortable and organised and the staff were lovely! Food on offer was great and there is a fab beer garden to sit and drink in with friends and enjoy the sunshine!!

We stayed here as 2 families: 3 adults and 4 children.
The family rooms were spacious and equipped with comfortable beds.
The breakfast was excellent value and very tasty.
The building itself needs a little TLC, but that didn’t lessen our experience.
All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. They helped us with looking after our bags and transport queries. They were even patient with our excited children.
The location is nice and quiet. It is in a pub so there’s bound to be some noise at closing time, but that’s to be expected.
There are several buses available nearby and it’s only a short walk to the suspension bridge & play park.
We would definitely stay here again.

The Channings is a nice hotel in the upper part of Bristol where there are several university dormitories and luxury villas. Its position on the one hand allows customers to enjoy great tranquility, on the other it makes finding a parking space a little complicated. The rooms are beautiful and large and on the ground floor there is a nice restaurant-pub which also has outdoor tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We spent 2 nights there. Breakfast is excellent ! The rooms are clean, with hairdryer and bathtub! The terrace is super pleasant. You just have to take into account that it is the meeting point for young people so there is noise in the evening which did not bother us at all. The only negative is the street parking. It is forbidden to park on the street from 9 am to 5 pm so for the day you have to move the car even though the hotel is well located 20’ from the center.

We chose a family room as we needed two beds. It was at the very top of lots of stairs. The room itself was quite awful. The decoration of the room was terrible, the luggage rack was hanging off the wall, there was no toilet roll holder, just the bracket on the wall, and the toilet roll was on the floor. The beds were good and comfortable. the normal Greene King food offering was available but it was not very good. No parking available and all roads in the area were for permit holders only and a three hour maximum paid stay. I suggest Greene King management should stay in their own hotels and ask themselves if they would be happy to pay £135 to stay in that room.
