Lovely, interesting hotel. The bar, restaurant and lounges are lovely. The room itself was a bit small, but very comfortable. Staff are very friendly. Location is good, next to a lovely historic square and a short walk to the eclectic St Paul’s area with some great restaurants

Amazing customer service by all staff and especially who went out of her way to accommodate me in a suite where I booked for a small room. Place was pristine, was so clean and comfortable! Little touches to personalise throughout the suit was a delight to encounter. All in all I would go back anytime and recommend Artist residence to anyone. Big Love 🥰

Curtains to bedroom were poor . As an old building not easy to negotiate stairs to room. Quirky and different having stayed before but prices have increased significantly

Very unique property in a great location

Lovely hotel. We stayed in Suite 1 - a glorious big room with huge windows and lots of sun and light. The bed was super comfy and the linen was great. The staff were friendly, relaxed and helpful. The location is a short walk to Cabot Circus shopping mall and a 10-minute Uber ride from Temple Meads station from where you can take the train to Bath.

I recently stayed at Artist Residence Bristol and had a very disappointing experience. I asked the receptionist for a late checkout availability, and she agreed to give me an extra 2 hours. When I was checking out, I asked for a statement, but they didn't provide one because they said there were no charges. However, a week later, I found a charge of $51 on my credit card. This unexpected charge for the late checkout, which was not communicated to me at the time, is completely unacceptable. The lack of transparency and communication from the staff was frustrating, and the surprise charge feels dishonest. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. Be cautious of unexpected charges and poor communication.

This boutique hotel in Bristol is cleverly designed and simply delightful to explore down to the last detail! We enjoyed staying at the Artist Residence for 2 nights at both ends of our vacation to the UK at the end of May and early June. Our rooms were small, but comfortable, beautiful and efficiently equipped with everything we needed. The staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, which is another fun space with excellent food. We enjoyed our time here so much on the front end of our trip, that we sought out their sister property in Penzance for dinner one evening. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit some of their other properties one day!

We stayed here as it’s listed in “British Family Escapes” book, on the way back from an incredible stay in Cornwall. I am so, so confused why this hotel has been included in the book. It’s not family-friendly at all. Firstly, you can’t add children to the booking - so I called and was told to write a note in the comments that our stay included a baby and we’d need a cot. I did that. Arrived, no cot. We had our own in the car so fetched that, but already off to a bad start. Next up, there’s no room service menu - tired children and parents don’t always want to sit in a restaurant so this was poor. Our room was spacious so our newly- 1 year old could crawl around, but as he did he picked up a toe nail, some chocolate and a discarded contact lens from the room that just was not clean at all. The television was dusty too. The bathroom door in the room did shut from the outside, so unfortunately he was also free to crawl in there. Also, the air conditioning was constantly erroring which was annoying. And, this isn’t the hotel’s fault, but the soundproofing is poor too which, again, doesn’t scream family friendly. Lastly, I’ve just been charged for three very random mini bar items when we didn’t consume a single thing! So the hotel has basically stolen my money as the icing on the nasty cake! Our stay was a disappointment from beginning to end - we won’t be back, and will be recommending our friends (and TripAdvisor readers!) avoid.
