Stayed 5 nights for a conference with 3 other colleagues. Quaint hotel that looks its age. Had very friendly and helpful staff handling check in/out. Had taken a suite, but it was rather small. Main door opened into an anteroom with 2 internal doors - 1 of which led into bedroom (just enough space for a double bed with 2 small side tables). The other door led into a small living room (space for dressing table, couch, TV, and a small round table with a chair). Bathroom is a little dim. Breakfast buffet had standard ham and cheese cuts, scrambled eggs, breads, cereals, fruits - repeated daily. Noticed the staff change the cutlery after each dinner, but the placemats on the table is not changed. Location is excellent with nearby train and bus station leading to all major attractions. Also have supermarkets nearby.

Our daughter booked us this hotel as part of a 3 night trip to Budapest as a Christmas gift. After visiting Budapest herself, she thought we’d love it so booked us the trip. I don’t normally write reviews, but I thought the hotel had been served an injustice with lots of the other reviews we’d read. We’d read lots that said it was in an awful and unsafe area. The hotel is on a side street, in a city away from the centre, no different to any side street in a city we’d seen before. We saw one homeless person in a doorway, and sometimes people gathered chatting outside the Spar shop at the top of the road, and the other shops…not much of a problem. We didn’t feel unsafe or find the street to be noisy. You are a little bit out of the centre, but the bus stop and metro are conveniently located just around the corner. We used the bus which was very cheap, or free, as sometimes we were just waved on. Once inside our room we heard very little noise, from within the hotel itself, or from the road outside…only the occasional siren. The towels and sheet’s were good, and the room clean, pillows also nice quality and extras in the wardrobe. Room a comfortable temperature. The beds are low to the ground, and the mattresses firmer than we are used to, but after a 12 hour day sightseeing, and a few cocktails/beers we slept reasonably well. Little ******s with the room, a kettle with tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice for a morning cuppa before heading out. There is a small bar in the reception area where you could get coffee though, and plenty of cafes on the main street. The hairdryer overheated quite quickly and cut out. But only minor issues. The staff were not particularly chatty (us Brits love a chat!) however, helpful and courteous when needed. All in all a good stay and a good base to explore…what do you do from a hotel room? For us to sleep and shower 🤷🏻‍♀️ Budapest is an amazing city, so much to see and do, we absolutely loved exploring, enjoy!

This hotel suited us. Right from the start we received good welcome from reception and throughout the stay they were cheerful, always acknowledged us when we came in and out and were happy to call us taxis. The place was very clean. Breakfast met all our needs: selection of cheeses/salami/ham, musli, fresh fruit cocktail, bowls of fruit, pastries, yogurt, avocado, breads, bacon, sausages, scrambled egg, beans, salad, peppers, coffee/hot chocolate machine was good, fruit juices etc. I really wanted to use the hot tub/sauna but we ran out of time so can’t comment on that. Our apartment itself (703) was very good. We had 2 floors with 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom had a good tv, nice decor, beds and pillows I found super comfy, had a better night sleep than I do at home. Only negative for me was that the bedroom we had never had a wardrobe, the one next door had a good wardrobe and there was also one downstairs if we were really bothered and wished to hang up and run up and down the stairs, but we never had much clothes for the weekend so were happy to stack jumpers under bedside table and I lay my trousers over the top of my case so wasn’t a huge issue for me. Shower was great! Bathroom modern and clean. Had a hairdryer, shower cap and shower gel and body lotion. Lounge area had a sofa, dining table and kitchen area with fridge, microwave, kettle, hob and pans/utensils. They provided a tea towel and dish liquid, few sachets of coffee and tea bags but no sugar or milk cartons. The system they used was if you wanted the bedroom cleaning the next day you had to put a sign on door the evening before (before midnight). If you wanted towels changing then had to let reception know. Big plus for us was that the hotel was very quiet, no outside noise to disturb our sleep and that we had 2 bedrooms so our daughter had her own room and a proper bed. This was in preference to 1 hotel room with a sofa bed which I didn’t want. I thought the cost was good. Only other comment is that the hotel is a little out of the centre which we knew when we booked, but chose the hotel based on cost, having the 2 bedrooms and a lounge rather than all in a hotel room, good reviews and the fact that it was quiet as wasn’t in the city centre. There was option to use the nearby public transport but we were happy to walk, or called a taxi when we needed to. Overall I was really happy with the stay.

Very good value for the money, incl. nice breakfast :) We stayed with 9 yo kid, fot the weekend in Budapest to see the beauty of the city. At first sight we overlooked this hotel on the map as it just wasnt straight in the old city centre, but just 4 bus or 3 metro stops aside, near new part called Corvin tér, which was very practical. We found nice modern room with quite big teracce, spacious bathroom and perfect modern beds. Our kid got equal single bed as an adult whch was superb. Hotel is very modern but simple with nice staff. At the breakfast, even in full capacity, everyone was satisfied. One minus is the area with huge amount of students and also the city garbage could be sorted out better on the surroundings of the hotel (not their fault, but they shoud maybe care about it a littlebit).

I was supposed to stay for three nights at the MP Hostel in Budapest; but left a couple of hours after I checked in. I arrived in the hostel before the check-in time; thus requested to leave my suitcase while awaiting check-in. Receptionist David just told me, ”You can put it in the storage room.” He did not even show me where the storage room is. I had to find the room myself. Mind you, David was not busy at that time. He was just chatting with a friend in the reception area. When I finally checked in the hostel late afternoon and went to my room, I noticed that the room was very cold. I opened the heater knob; and waited for more than an hour. No changes; it was still very cold. I then went to the reception; and informed receptionist David about this. He was in the reception, indeed, just talking to another hostel staff Daniel who is apparently the hostel F&B manager. He casually told me, ”Open the heater valve.” To which I replied, ”I did that more than an hour ago; but it's still very cold. Perhaps you can accompany me to the room; and we can both check the heater.” David answered, ”It's not my job. I'm the receptionist; not the technician... and the technician is not here. Wait for your room to get warm.” I said, ”It's been more than an hour since I opened the heater; but the room never got warm at all. If it's not your job to address the heater problem, then who can help me fix this? Can you at least transfer me to another room with a working heating system?” After David called up someone and checked the available rooms, he finally agreed to move me to another room. While I was at the reception waiting for my new room to be ready, I was talking to a friend on the phone to express my disappointment. When David said that my room was ready, I hung my phone up right away; and was surprised when he said, ”I”M A F*CKING RECEPTIONIST. THE HOSTEL MANAGEMENT PLACED ME HERE BECAUSE I SPEAK ENGLISH. CHECKING THE ROOM OR THE HEATER IS NOT MY JOB.” I replied, ” Where did the 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' words come from? To be clear, I never addressed you a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' ” I said these sentences at least twice, to reiterate my point. Without knowing the context of the conversation because he (Daniel) was playing a video game on his phone, F&B manager Daniel suddenly charged at me, kept on pointing his right index finger at me, and raised his voice, ”Don't you dare disrespect my friend and call him 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' OR ELSE...” I then said, ”I didn't even call David a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' Go ask him.” When David agreed that I did not call him that, I then went inside my new room which was still very cold. Heater in the new room was not working. Again. After all the negative experience at MP Hostel Budapest, I decided to leave right away; and found another private room in a hostel nearby. Zero customer service. Aggressive. Threatening. I hope the hostel will improve on its customer service, and value its guests.

One of the most budget friendly accommodation in the city! It is in a very strategic location where it is just few meters away from bus stop and metro train station. It is also just few bus stops away from famous tourist destinations. It is near grocery store and vodafone where you can buy a sim card (tip for tourists). Rooms are clean and well maintained. They have self service washing and drying machines, common kitchen and bathrooms, common lounge area, vending machines and many more. This place is wheelchair friendly as well for those who need them. Service wise was great as well. I would commend Thomas from reception for being helpful especially when we arrived from airport at 2AM. Overall, we enjoyed staying here. It is truly a great value for money.

GGuest UserOne of the best stay I ever had. The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, the breakfast it's really good and has a great variety of food, the attendant's team is almost perfect, expect for the bar in the evening, the rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need. I found a very nice surprise for woman, beside the hair dryer there was an hair straightener. Very hepfull! The SPA was clean and excellent atmpsphere. I foundall service I would like to have. We didn't try the restaurant, but I saw people dining when in Budapest all the restaurants don't accept you anymore. I really felt cluddled!

GGuest UserWhen you walk in, you’re welcomed by the lovely smell of flowers and of course a great welcoming staff. We stayed in one of the suites. Rooms are spotless clean and well isolated from outside noise. Location is great and there are rental bikes nearby. We also had the pleasure to receive this lovely bottle of cava because there was a malfunction with the heating, which meant not being able to take a hot shower. Room for improvement: On the top floor there’s a swimming pool that was a bit too chilly for us. The breakfast is rather okay, but very limited when it comes to allergies, specifically vegan/lactose free alternatives. Yes, there was a can of milk. But even asking for some eggs was a hassle because they were “short on staff”. That made the breakfast for me personally rather poor.

GGuest UserWe had a reasonably sized 1 bed appt. From other reviews I was worried about noise and bad behaviour of groups of tourists but this is a block of 90 apartments and only 24 are tourist rentals. Others include a number of people with the title ”Dr” so they are not riffraff, if you know what I mean. Our stay so far has been very quiet. Almost no noise from inside the block. It's the centre of a city so there is road noise etc but the windows are triple glazed so keep the noise out very well. Lift and corridors are all v bright and well cleaned. The area is touristy to some extent with loads of good value eating places including a very popular Hungarian restaurant where you need to book called Getto Gulyas. The area as a whole used to be the Jewish ghetto so the huge synagogue is close by but that meant that the are as a whole is quite run down in appearance. I think that makes it a much more interesting feel than some of the more renovated areas. This apartment block is new enough that it's not shown on Google satellite. Apartment was very clean and well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. Everything you need for cooking on holiday. Furnished exclusively from Ikea by the looks of it but it felt new and not worn out. Bed is comfortable and on the firm side. So far the is absolutely nothing of any significance wrong with the apartment. Maybe we have been lucky by not being near a stag party. But we've only seen one about town in our stay so far. From our experience we would recommend.

SSteffenDA nice and pretty affordable four star hotel - perfect for families. Clean, relatively big and modern rooms with river view and balcony. The rooms are bright and give you a good feeling. Bathtub and shower in one. Medium size TV with an okay selection of channels. The very nice thing about this hotel is the pool and sauna area. Several pools for swimming, relaxing and one pool with thermal water. They even have kind of a medical spa/hospital attached to the hotel where you can get (health) cure. The breakfast has a great selection and is delicious. The hotel WiFi works very good and is available almost everywhere. The service and staff are friendly and helpful. They provide you a free water bottle in the room as welcome gift, which other hotels don’t as the tap water is drinkable. The location is on the island, where there are parks and kids playgrounds nearby, even there is a very small zoo for kids to play/touch some animals. To go to most sights/inner city/circus/thermal pools you can take a taxi with the Bolt app for approx. 8-10€. Near the hotel there is also a very tasty chain restaurant VakVarjú Étterem with typical Hungarian dishes. The hotel is also very dog friendly. We loved our stay and will come back. We also stayed in Danubius Hotel Helia nearby, but this one here is much better!

GGuest UserThe location is perfect, right and one of the shopping streets where you can walk to a lot of the attractions. The hotel has 2 exits where one is open 24/7 where the reception is and where you can be dropped off by taxi. The other is on the shopping street, closing at 22.00 because it is also where the hotel restaurant Winestone is located. The restaurant has a good variety of food and very friendly and diligent staff which goes for the whole hotel. The breakfast is not served in the restaurant, but on the 2. floor. It has eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt, small pancakes, fruit, a little bit of vegetables. Could have liked the hot food to be hot, it was seldom the case. The room was nice with safety deposit box, coffee/tea, 1 bottle of water each day, mini bar and shampoo + shower gel and hair dryer. The room was cleaned spotless every day! The room becomes a bit hot and it helps to open the window. Right now there is construction going on, so you don't want the window open while they work. In the ground floor there is a fitness room with a good variety of equipment. The front desk staff is very helpful. We used the cleaning service for having some shirts ironed. That worked very well.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located very close to public transportation. The tram is right across the street and the Metro station just a short walk away. You can also walk across to the other side of town where all the stores and restaurants are by using the Chain Bridge. However the bridge was closed for pedestrians last month, not sure if it is now open. Our room was a good size and we had a beautiful view of the Danube river and the Parliament. The small balcony outside our window needed to be cleaned though, as there were spider webs everywhere. Realized that after I stuck my head outside to look at the view.. You can also look outside the window in the hallway when you get off the elevators. It has a nice view of the castle at night. Bathroom was fine, there was a nice bathtub with a nice shower but I found the bathtub very high and it took me extra effort to climb in and out. Never had that problem before but for some reason this tub was not easy to climb into. The breakfast had many yummy choices. There were not many changes in what they offered everyday, but still they had many choices and also many different coffees you could prepare on the machine. Front desk staff were cordial and one young man in particular was very helpful with everything that we needed. I don't remember his name but he was in his 30s I believe with a goatie. All in all we enjoyed our stay! The only thing we wished is that this hotel had a pool, but oh well!

Very Good
GGuest UserThe airport shuttle bus 100E drops only a few minutes walk away from the hostel. (30mins travel) Very useful. There is a socket and reading light next to each bed and I had a change of bedding on my second day. I feel that this is due to there being no bed bookings and you choose your own, so they don't know which bed is still in use. There's a danger you may lose your bed if you don't leave things on it. There was a shared bathroom with a toilet in it and a locker provided in the room too. I brought my own towel as this was not provided. There is shower gel provided in the shower. A really central hostel, though they're is a hub of bars directly opposite, so they're is a lot of noise until very late which means I had disrupted sleep both nights. Plenty of takeaway places close for quick bites to eat and lots of café spots close too. This hostel is also very close to get to the main sights and starts of walking tours also if you'd be doing this too.

GGuest User370 meters from the East Railway Station, there is no need to take a car to go out. It is a dense scenic spot. It is very nervous to come to Europe alone, resulting in higher blood pressure. The hotel service staff is really good. They are enthusiastic and patient. They are suitable for the local area. Today's beautiful.

GGuest UserI am coming from Canada. I'm extremely frustrated with the hotel and feel compelled to share my experience. The hotel consists of three buildings, none of which are any better than the others. The entrance is dark and the connections between the buildings feel like a maze of catacombs. It's a complete nightmare trying to find your room. Now let's talk about the rooms. They are downright filthy, and don't even think about finding any electrical appliances. Each room supposedly has a minimum of three single beds, but forget about any comfort because there are no pillow tops provided. Can you believe it? To make matters worse, we were completely tricked by that Turkish Holiday Website, ”tatilbudur.com.” They led us to this horrendous place that is worse than any hostel I've ever stayed in. I'm beyond disappointed with this hotel. The lack of cleanliness, basic amenities, and the overall experience is simply unacceptable. They need to seriously step up their game and make significant improvements.
