Like some other guests, we were in town for Gencon. While the hotel is on the north side, the Uber ride of a 1/2 hour to the convention center wasn't terribly expensive. I love the Staybridge brand in general. Like the others, this one is a very comfortable hotel with clean, spacious rooms including a kitchenette. Free laundry was nice. The staff was nice, especially Nadia who worked magic to get us a very welcome slightly early check-in. Although Carmel is a upscale area, like a lot of Indianapolis, it isn't pedestrian-friendly. However, the deliveries were good. We enjoyed the tasty and varied breakfast at the hotel and ordered dinner delivered. (Nearby Thai Indy was very good and tasted authentic.) The one change our friends would make to this trip is to take Amtrak into town and get the locals to drive you around the confusing interchanges and roundabouts. In short: decent affordable stay. Be aware, though, if you have allergies, several guests did bring their dogs and they were walking them inside the hotel.
