Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

Was great experiencing PR and Family. The entertainment and atmosphere was great.

Rooms was spacious and very nice. Loved the shampoos and soaps! I love Lelabo… had some minor inconveniences, but staff took care of it right away as well as customer service. I would more than gladly stay at this property again.

Beautiful lobby. I must say, when walking in I was impressed with the beautiful wood ceilings and carvings. The bar areas were very nice as well. However, for the price we paid, I feel that the hotel cleaniness and service was sub-par. First, we asked on our first day to have our patio furniture cleaned off (bird poop everywhere - see pics). It was never done. We paid for a beach front villa. The room smelled musty and was not completely clean (see pics); mold in bathroom drawer, dust on floor, furniture broken, and it was an adjoining room so we got to hear a crying baby and people upstairs from us as well walking around. We made the best of it and the ocean was fantastic. The two pools were nice (could have been cleaner by the swim up bar area) but that is to be expected as people sit in the pool and drink. However, when we walked around the pool in the morning, it seemed that there was still garbage around the pool area not cleaned up from the day before. We had breakfast included and it was very good, and very fresh. However, please be CAREFUL when checking out. Check your hotel bill carefully. We left a cash tip for our waiter/waitress every morning. The staff at the breakfast area decided to give themselves another tip and charge it to the room! YES, THEY CHARGED THEIR OWN TIP! When we were checking out and going over the bill, we didnt understand the 12.00 or 15.00 dollar charges. The hotel staff agent said it was a tip for breakfast! We told them we gave cash and they did take it off our bill. I am sure this happens often and people do not even realize it. We did have a hamburger at the grill by the pool one day and it was 25.00 for ONE burger! Expensive! There is a chillis across the street so you are better off going there for a burger. Also, there was a lot of cracking cement areas so be careful when walking around the pool.

Was their for 4 days and the AC only worked one day without me having to call them front desk. They never asked to switch me rooms they just kept saying that the valve was restricted. I had their AC techs coming at 11 and 12 at night trying to get temp down. They got nice lobby and grounds. You can tell they make plenty of money but they won’t switch you rooms cause AC is poor quality

A beautiful wine & beverage refrigerator… empty. Not just mine, all rooms, empty. Unacceptable especially for a hotel claiming to be a Fairmont. Check-in took over 1/2hr with only 4 others in front of me. After a long day of circling in the air and being diverted to PR, just wanted a relatively simple check-in and cold water. $700 does NOT justify this hotel AT ALL!

Overpriced, the hotel smells of mildew and needs to be cleaned up and painted. Limited dining that was very expensive and not very good. The staff were friendly and spa was good (but very expensive). Stay at the Marriott for a better experience

We stayed here a few years ago & that experience wasnt optimal. This time around it was amazing!! Great staff, excellent food& drink, very convenient. Room was big with great city views and partial water view. only suggestion is they take away towels by pool too quickly. We had to keep watching our towels to let them know we were around. Much improved services, so glad we came back! Great for R&R.

We arrived early in the morning and the front desk staff were able to accommodate and early check in which was great. Unfortunately, the first two rooms we were assigned on the 8th floor had a wet, mildew smell. Alerted the front desk, and they agreed to change our room. Only one room was available and we were told that the other on the 7th floor would be ready later. The room we were reassigned to was slightly better but still had a mildew smell. We did let guest services know. By regular check in time at 4 pm, the second room for our other party was still not available. We were told that that there were other rooms available but that our party would be separated. We ultimately agreed bc it was well after 5 pm. To our surprise, they attempted to assign our family to one of the original rooms with a smell on the 8th floor. I alerted Gabriel to this (Gabriel was wonderful) and he then assigned the second room on the 9th floor which was great because there was no smell; however, our room on the 7th floor was still lackluster at best with a mildew smell and our family was separated. We were very disappointed with the latter part of the check-in process after 4 pm and the accommodations. Staff, pool and beach access were great for the family as well as basketball, tennis courts, and fitness center.
