Hotels near Evolution 2 Chamonix, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

1. Most, if not all, rooms have their own private balconies. These face either the back of the hotel, ie. facing the same range of the Alps as Aiguille Du Midi and Montenvers (the cable cars can be seen from the balconies), or the front of the hotel, ie. facing the city centre and Brevent (another arm of the Alps?) . The block of tree trunk which serves as a stool is very heavy! 2. It is located adjacent to the Chamonix MB train station. It is 3-5 minute-walk away from the town centre, McDonald's being one of the first easily-recognised indications. 3. The hotel interiors are mainly oak (like Ikea type): doors, table, shelves, wall fixtures. Personally love it, esp. the designs being flat and square. This was much more practical and pleasant to the sight compared to 'new' 'urban' furnishings where pieces were oddly shaped and placed. Would certainly seek to stay there again if returning.

We stayed in Heliopic Hotel during the 3rd week of March 2022. We booked one of the apartments which had plenty of space for our 3 children (9,6,3) The ski shop staff were very helpful on our first day and we were pleasantly surprised by just how close the hotel was to the main street where all the shops, restaurants and bars were located. A special mention must go to Cyrille and all the concierge team who go out of their way to help you get restaurants reservations, taxis, info about ski school or whatever it is that you require. The concierge service is most definitely 5 star. The hotel is clean and well maintained and the lobby is very kid friendly. It is quite unusual that kids are not allowed to use the swimming pool after 2pm. It seems at odds with the other efforts of the hotel to be child friendly. The private shuttle to the slopes is very convenient but we made the mistake of booking ski school and lessons for 9am which meant that we could not use this service as it got us to the slopes around 9 25/ 9 30. It is a much more preferable way of transporting young kids in ski boots with skis/poles etc than the public bus which is extremely busy and packed between 8am and 10am. However the bus stop is very very close to the hotel also. The apartment was very well equiped, very warm and had plenty of storage space to unpack bulky ski layers. It even had a private boot room beneath it.Overall we would definitely stay here again if we return to Chamonix

The hotel is a perfect place for a family. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable, and the hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. A pleasant, modern, cozy, full of activities (ah, bowling ....) for the after-rando or after-ski. We have loved and will return there. Thank you for this experience that reminds us that hotels can still be practiced with good mood and sincereness.

The location is very good, the facilities are perfect, and the service staff is warm. You can see the opposite of Bronx at the hotel. The hotel's swimming pool water is heated and you can swim in the late autumn season. It is a good choice to live here in Xiamoni.

This hotel is located quite far away from Chamonix. We stayed here for two nights during Mont Blanc Marathon, since almost all hotels in Chamo center were fully booked. The hotel has a perfect location for few hikes: You can walk to Bossons glacier and Merlet animal park from the hotel. Both places are behind a good hike (2-5 hours). The breakfast was ok. The pool was closed due to fire :( Avoid rooms towards the motorway. This was a good budget option during a peak moment, but next time I shall stay closer to Chamonix.

This is a fantastic hotel. The moment you are welcomed in you get a sense of the care people have taken with building this hotel. Everything optimizes the use of space well, is practical, and very nicely laid out. The rooms themselves are very unique and allow for privacy (lower and top levels) and have tons of storage space. Immaculately clean, with all soaps, gels, and hairdryer. Came with 3 bottles of complimentary water. No mini fridge or microwave in these rooms. The communal area and lobby are really set for you to relax and enjoy your time. Oh yeah they have an arcade machine in lobby you can play for free with a friend. When we were stranded for the night and needed to wait at the hotel until 3am for a taxi, the front desk offered a reduced rate for us, gave us blankets to keep warm, toothbrushes, and offered for us to use the shower room. BREAKFAST: This was 13 euros—there are not many options at all in this area for breakfast so it is worth the money if you do not want to eat in Chamonix proper. Selection of toast, pancakes, Jams, honey, cheeses, hot options included scrambled eggs, mushrooms, bacon, sausages. Teas, coffees, granola, cereal, and crescents as well. Overall breakfast was plentiful - only criticism some things could have been warmer. DINNER They have their own herb garden in the back and the dinner we had was exceptional. Never would think hotel made! they locally sourced all their items and specify where. Our waiter Ciel was extremely hospitable—everyone at the hotel tried their best to help us. Drinks were best of trip. The fried rissoto and fresh cod were wonderful. LAUNDRY They have a laundry room: 5 euros for a wash; 3 euros for dryer. These are large machines and we were able to fit two peoples laundry in one. TRANSIT Tourists can get a free day time travel card to use in transits from hotel. Do note if travelling in night bus in Chamonix you will need to play 2 euros. Bus stop right outside hotel and 15 min ride to city Center. It’s the culture of the hotel that stood out to me. Good size room to accommodate two suitcases and two backpacks. Very comfortable bed and pillows plus a great rain head shower. Terrific balcony overlooking the Alps. Very friendly and helpful staff, plus good English spoken. Good dinner and breakfast available. Wifi reception quite poor. Quite room and quiet lounge available on each floor - with a bookcase to swap books? Ideal place to have as a base if you prefer multiple day walks.

I have been visiting France for many years and I LOVE the country. I favour the south because of the amazing weather and because it is close to Italy and to Spain but I have visited many towns and cities over the years. This hotel in Sallanches is excellent for travellers and in the same large area there are two Ibis Hotels and then loads of shops and bars, all near to a large Carrefour super market. The Style is lovely and has some covered parking which is GREAT when travelling by motorbike. Rooms and the bar are great. So what is not to like? Er. The staff. It seems from my experience that the French people are NOT good at serving and helping other folks, period. Last time I met with the Manager and he was sooooo kind, he moved his own motorbike to make space for mine. BUT the folks who work for him in reception are the opposite, they really do not seem to want guests!! The first TWO times I walked into reception with helmet and waterproofs they tried to direct me to the Ibis Budget, so I am a Budget kind of guy???? Awful. BUT the hotel is excellent. Despite them.
