Bliss Apartments

Seeing some of the negative reviews I was not overly confident of the apartment. However the pre communication was excellent with all details of how to get into the property really clear. We booked a secure car place at 7.50 a night and the space is directly under the apartments. The apartment had 2 double beds and 2 bathrooms. It was clean with fresh bedding and towels and smelt really fresh. The kitchen had everything you needed plus some teas and coffees (we had brought our own). Had a decent nights sleep too. For the space and location it was a great deal. However the second bedroom had little space and the bed was up against the wall. There were a few maintenance issues (light in the hallway didn’t work, some of the fittings were lose). Being on the third floor also made it very noisy (bring ear plugs). Fix these and it would be fine. Oh and the WIFI worked fine for us.

What can I say - so we forgot to hand the key in totally our fault. I sent the key back after several telephone calls. Every telephone call they told me something different the locks had been changed no they hadn’t yes they had. They still haven’t received the key however I have sent it. I was told they keep my bank details for a month no where in their terms and conditions does it star this. Spoke to the manger who informed me the lock was actually on changed the day before so Monday 7th. He said so are you paying I said no I’m not I’ve sent the key back in which he replied your not welcome in Cheltenham and out the phone down. Today I received a letter from hm courts and tribunals service demanding only for the key. Stay well away from this place even tho location is great a simple human mistake

This apartment within a few minutes from the town centre, with secure parking if booked. This spacious split level apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms the decor is modern but could do with some redecoration in places. Both mattresses need replacing as they are both dished from use, you either sleep in the hole or spend the night rolling into it. The blackout blinds are very effective allowing you to sleep in. The kitchen area has everything you'll need for a short stay. The sofas are a little low and soft and can be a struggle to get out of. All the good points have been wiped out in my opinion by the very poor broadband speed of 10mbs which means you are unable to stream live TV and the upload is less than 0.5mbs so will be a pain for anyone trying to work whilst here. This was important for me as I wanted to watch the football. I suggest they invest in a better broadband package and get new mattresses.

completely spoilt the trip having been told tv has hdmi ports could not connect the very primitive bt wifi to bt tv . spoilt our stay wish we had gone elsewhere. really crap for C21 want a refund very poor. corridor to room stank of ****.

The hallways were very tatty with holes in the wall. The apartment beds were like boards as the mattresses were very thin so not a good sleep at all. The upstairs toilet didn't flush. My 12-year-old son found a comb and more alarmingly an empty nos drug canister down the sofa when he was looking for his headphones. We called the company immediately and the man on the phone was horrified and said he would move us however we had unpacked, cooked dinner and had all our items everywhere so at 8pm at night we didn't think this would make for a good experience. The gentlemen on the phone said to take a picture, sent it in and someone would call us back on Tuesday. I had to call both Tuesday and Wednesday to be told they were waiting for the MD to come into the office to address the situation. Thursday evening, we received an email from this company....I would avoid these apartments and we certainly will not be staying here again. "Further to your message and subsequent telephone calls we are very sorry your son found these items down the sofa. As you can appreciate the weekends are extremely busy with our housekeepers cleaning between 30 and 40 apartments on a Saturday and again on a Sunday. This is by no means an excuse but can help explain that small issues like this can be missed when cleaning whole apartments rather than just a hotel room. I have spoken with all staff concerned to be extra vigilant and have also been informed that you were offered a move to another apartment which was declined. We really do apologise for this and hope it did not impact your stay too much. Kindest regards"

The owners of this apartment don't believe in renovation. Sitting in the living room you would think you were back in the 1980s with a very old TV that would give you a headache to watch, extremely dated and cheap furniture. Looking around in the kitchen the oven and cooker and other surfaces were dirty with marks on, the kettle would not work unless you kept your finger on the switch until the water was boiled!!!! The bedroom furniture was more modern but the bed was a small double and the bedding so uncomfortable! My neck was hurting all night as the pillows were so hard. Overall a very disappointing stay. On the positive side the location is excellent and so close to the centre.

On arrival the apartment seemed tidy and the bedding and towels were obviously clean. However on a closer look the apartment was generally grubby and needed a deep clean. The worst parts were the bathroom, sinks and floors. There was old toothpaste left around the rim of the sink in the ensuite and something brown dribbling down the pedestal of the sink. The floors had bits and hairs on them and left our socks and slippers with black marks on the bottoms after walking around without shoes on. This level of cleanliness is not what I would expect during a pandemic. The shower door was hanging off, the towel rail is still broken and we were worried about shutting the curtains as the rails were coming off the wall. This obviously put us off but by far the worst thing here was the excessive noise that came from other residents throughout the night and and the noise from the street outside. We honestly thought there were windows and doors that were left open but on closer inspection realised they were all tightly shut. We did not sleep and ended up leaving after only one night and cancelling a concert which is the whole reason why we were staying. Incredibly disappointing and although the company have apologised about this I see no attempt to rectify any of these problems or reimburse us for the nights that we did not stay.

It was easy to collect the keys on arrival - I was informed of how to use the keypad on the front (with a further code - but this was not always needed but was not told of this)- I was told which level my room was on and the number and then to use the key safe by the door - this was simple to use (master lock - I use these myself and are straightforward) What to do with the keys on departure was also explained This meant that it was not dealing with people - Arrival was anytime after 2 pm and departure by 11 am It was a clean place with plenty of towels Easy access In the kitchen there was a cooker and hob, washing machine, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, enough plates and crockery for 2 people Hairdryer in the bedroom, and fan, plus an ironing board and iron in the wardrobe, plus clothes horse Simple accommodation but basic and fits the needs I have an issue with many self catering establishments that there is never a tea pot and also a mis match of saucepans and non fitting lids - there should be certain things that come as standard - a variety of pots and pans with lids that match and a tea pot and a cafieteree (coffee plunger) for the coffee connoisseur. I had to buy one of both a saucepan and tea pot and leave them behind so that the next people can benefit.

Noisy road & junction, Dust on top of wardrobe & under the bed along with a previous occupants sock. One bathroom extractor not working the other very noisy & bedside lamp not working. shower handset to hose leaking.
