3-Star Hotels in Ciboure

A good couple of nights at an Ibis can often do the trick, and so it proved here. There's nothing much in Ciboure, but the Ibis is in a stylishly reclaimed residential area next to a lovely river with small boats moored along its length. The 10 minute walk to St Jean involved a quick walk under a railway underpass, up some stairs on the other side, across the river and dropping into town. It was a well trodden route for all the Ibis guests! I would guess the St Jean train station is no more 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel itself looks reasonably recently renovated and we benefited from other reviewers' advice to get a larger room for a few pennies more. Well worth the cost for a room 50% bigger plus a sofa. Car parking was in a separate building adjoining the hotel with plentiful spaces and fully secure, if a bit underlit at times. All in all, a good solid choice for a few days in the area.

Résidence à flanc de colline, dans un environnement calme et verdoyant à 10 minutes à pied de la plage, par un accès agréable totalement piéton le long du canal. Étant au dernier étage, nous avions une vue incroyable sur Socoa, le canal, les montagnes et même la mer. En contre partie, la résidence semble difficile pour les personnes ayant des difficultés à marcher (terrain pentu et escalier extérieur raide). La dame de l’accueil est très sympathique et nous a donné de nombreuses infos à notre arrivée. Nous avons séjourné dans un appart 6 personnes pour 2 adultes et 2 ados. L’appartement est spacieux pour 4 mais serait trop petit pour 6 (le frigo n’est pas adapté pour 6). Literie de la chambre très confortable, grande taille mais nos 2 ados, eux, ont passé 2 semaines à se cogner contre les murs autour du lit superposé qui fait moins de 90cm en largeur. Le canapé lui était complètement déformé, à changer (en retournant le matelas de l’assise, nous avons limité son inconfort) La terrasse est spacieuse. Toutes les pièces sont équipées de volets roulants, parfait pour dormir dans l’obscurité totale. Rien à redire sur la propreté de l’appartement et du linge fourni à notre arrivée. En résumé, fonctionnel, propre et bien situé mais confort basique.

I stayed in this beautiful apartment with my 4-year-old son. The apartment is perfectly in line with the description. It is clean, pleasant and functional. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed is comfortable. The beach of Socoa is 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Just specify that the apartment is on floor 1 and not 2 as indicated in the description. It would be nice to add fans as there is no air conditioning. Too bad the pool closes at 8 p.m. Otherwise, very nice apartment, I recommend it. Thanks

Beautiful apartment, well equipped in a quiet residence. However, it is difficult to take advantage of the terrace because of the highway a few meters away and hornets every evening (joint Interhome agency which advises closing the windows in the evening.
