Great location and size of room was spacious. Facilities were clean and heater was effective for winter. Centrally located opposite Dior and along shopping street. However, maintenance can be improved as our living room light was spoilt, the door between the living room and bedroom cannot be closed completely and the switch to the induction stoves were wrongly connected (which caused my food to be overcooked and I nearly burnt myself as I thought a stove was off when it was in fact on...). But staff is receptive to feedback and overall, still recommended

The room is as good as ever. It has been almost 10 years. Every time I come to Melbourne, I stay in this hotel. The room type is reasonable. The kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom are all independent, and there is a washing machine. I really feel at home!

Unfortunately the hotel was in the middle of a construction site when we visited which made getting in and out by foot a little challenging at first. Staff are great and the facilities are also top notch.

1. The details of the room are very stylish. 2. There is a large bed and a sofa bed, as well as a Rubik's Cube for children to play with. This detail is worthy of praise. Suitable for families and parent-child travel. 3. There is a washing machine and complete tableware, but there is no stove. It is no problem to heat bread and milk in the microwave. 4. Big advantage: You can check out at 11 o'clock, and you can also apply for a later check-out under special circumstances! Other hotels have check-out at 10 o'clock! 5. The buffet is also good (Western style bread and snacks). 6. The location is good, very close to Chinatown, and the nearby attractions in the city center are within walking distance. The aquarium, train station, Federation Square, museums... are all nearby! Two words, convenient! Disadvantages: 1. Self-service check-in. Due to the delay of the flight, it was already past 11pm when I arrived at the hotel. The front and back doors of the hotel were closed. I called and said that an email had sent me the password, but the agency that booked the room did not forward it to me. , it took half an hour before a staff member came downstairs to help me get the key. 2. The water in the sink is not flowing smoothly, and the water is blocked even when I brush my teeth and wash my face. It is probably an old problem that cannot be solved. I was too lazy to bother with it in the middle of the night, so I just used the sink in the hall.

GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

MMarieThe signage upon parking is really bad, you need to do a lot of guess work as to where the e trance is once you are in the underground parking. Which by the way is $40 extra.  We were given our room key and pointed to the direction of the lifts and I piece of paper with very basic explanation of things.  We headed to our room and immediately left to go and see if there were any other options. Initially we were given a room that had a view of the carpark, walkway and  roofing, lots of steel and very claustrophobic. I told the lady I wanted a room less depressing our view was just small being boxed in with steel and no view. She was kind enough to upgrade us to a king room with amazing views.  Not a lot was explained to us so we had to look for the recreation room and facilities on our own. The staff are very detached and service with a welcoming smile was simply not there. The room had no slippers, robes, shower caps or complimentary water.  Breakfast was much the same attitude, she asked for the room number and go sit and eat. No explanation of gluten free options or how we obtain a hot chocolate as the coffee machine does not dispense hot chocolate or chai. The scrambled eggs were so cold and disgusting. Would I stay here again? Probably not!

GGuest UserNot recommended for those who value their personal data security and privacy. Not recommended for internati9nal travellers who may not have enough charge on their phones to complete 3 forms, then download and set up an app that requires constant internet and Bluetooth connections. Booking required multiple insecure methods of sharing credit card details and identification documents along with 2 forms to fill out with personal details and an app to download in order to gain access to the Building entrance, Elevator, and Apartment. None of this information was given to me prior to booking. I would not have stayed here if I had known the extent of insecure transmission of personal information and amount of admin and work required just to check in and stay one night. I work in this space and know the risks. Management is putting guests personal data at risks with the excessive documentation requests. FYI, requiring someone to send credit card PICTURES and ID pictures over email is completely insecure. This is bizarrely at odds with the excessive security to get into the building. The constant need to carry your phone everywhere or you'd be locked of the apartment or even the whole building was extremely stressful. In terms of the actual room, once I got in, the bed, kitchen, lounge and floors were clean but the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time. This was not nice. You could see parts under the rim had not been cleaned in years. Toilet had also been recently used and not flushed properly upon arrival. I did not take photos of any of this, it was too gross. I ended up buying paper cups as the glasses/cups as those supplied were not clean, tried to take a picture but it's hard to see. They were covered in fingerprints and fibres of some kind. The view was nice and loungeroom was great, study nook was extremely handy for remote work. Balcony tiles are moving and could be a tripping hazard. Laundry was well equipped but did not have time to use it.

SSRuss83I stayed in Box Hill motel between 3rd of Nov'23 - 5th of Nov'23. My husband and I arrived at Box Hill motel around 12-1pm. We were so exhausted as we took turn driving from Sydney - Melbourne. We drove from Sydney past midnight. Upon calling if we would be let in early, surprisingly it is allowed. Otherwise we would have slept in the car until check-in time if the room isn't ready yet. We got room no.1 and it was very clean. I didn't use the towel as I prefer to use my own towel, my husband also use his own towel. One of the hanging towel though had a snot on it and I put that towel aside despite we didn't use it. There were 3x plates in total and one of the plate was dirty and I assumed previous guest must have used this 1 plate and didn't wash it but instead just slipped it in between the clean plate. We used 2x plates for ourselves but I washed the 3x plates myself. Great Wifi speed too as I was able to complete a little bit of work from Room no.1. My parents always taught me to appreciate and respect people's places. Upon checking out, I saw Carol and OMG, she is so kind, friendly, down to earth and helpful. She was busy rolling people's luggage to their room. I remember my father always taught me the great businessman is not the one who always wanted to be served but the one who knew how to serve others first. There's a saying about ”servant leadership”. A great leader know how it feels to be at the bottom to observe, learn and serving others as well as better appreciate the top and experience various roles to understand the duties and responsibilities of each roles. THANK YOU Box hill motel team and Carol too for allowing us to stay at your beautiful clean and tidy place. We were able to sleep very soundly, hope nobody can hear us snoring :) I highly recommend Box Hill motel, Melbourne to anyone on a trip to Melbourne.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel has the worst service of any Hyatt I have ever stayed at. The overall staff was absent-minded, and no one ever answered the front desk phone or room service. Several times we had to run downstairs to communicate with the front desk. There are no bathrobes in the hotel, which is the first time I have encountered this.

BBee LoongPrepaid S$575.33 for booking a room for 2nights from May 22-24. Front desk charged to my credit card again upon checkout for A$586.16 (S$543.59). He didnt realise the double charge until I brought to his attention. He apologised and reversed the charge, & assured me there wont be a credit card admin fee charged. However, when I received my credit card statement, it shows I was charged S$39.04 being FX & bank fee for the mistake the front desk staff made. I’ve been following up with Sheraton MEL since July 10 on this matter but no news after July 26 when I gave the bank information as requested by Mr Kajal Gaurav to process the refund. Till today Aug 21, I have yet to receive the refund. I have emailed several times to Sheraton but no one is replying. I am still waiting to hear from anyone copied in the email correspondence to provide an explanation and if I will still be receiving $39.04. Meanwhile, I’d still like to thank David, the housekeeping staff, who was extremely helpful during my stay.

GGuest UserLocation: Can be tricky to find the first time as you need to turn onto Cyril Street. Look across the road for the white building with red writing. Check-in: easy and fast. The man on reception is friendly and organised, just a lovely receptionist. There is a bond of $200; be organised and you’ll save your time and the receptionist’s time. You can pay the bond in cash. Parking: great, BUT there are some permanents living there and so you might want to park away from them… you will see immediately where you should not park :) clean parking area. Seemed organised. Room: very clean, comfortable. There are no knives, forks or plates, but there is a kettle and a microwave. Teas coffees, etc. six milk pods, so maybe bring milk if you need more. Really make sure that you close the door properly or it will seem shut, but not actually be shut and will open :) Good curtains in the room that block out the light from outside. I noticed a fair amount of security cameras outside on the walkway, which was reassuring. Fantastic showers with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed is firm, but I liked it. Would or wouldn’t stay again? Unfortunately, no, not while they are acting as ‘crisis accommodation’. The staff and room were great, but there are some undesirables living there who kept us awake all night. Not exaggerating when I say, did not sleep AT ALL. We were up and down to check on the car - the permanents were screaming, fighting - some real Jerry Springer stuff. I was upstairs and the people next to me had a dog that barked all night, in addition to the couple screaming at each other :/ Downstairs, fighting, screaming constantly. it sounded like something got broken downstairs. A guy on a motorbike kept coming and going, visiting the permanents downstairs and talking super loudly, then more yelling and fighting after he tore off on his bike. I didn’t feel safe; I expected the car to get damaged. I realise those people’s behaviour is not the motel’s fault, but I was so tired the next day that I got a migraine and yeah, still fending it off now, day after. Not impressed with those feral permanents. It’s a shame because the staff and rooms are great

VVSingLocation: The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Nights were serene with barely any car noise. It’s about a 10-minute drive to a nearby mall with Coles, Kmart, and other essentials—super convenient. For travelers, it’s around 40 minutes from the airport, which is manageable. Cleanliness: This was a mixed bag. Upon entering, we noticed a burnt iron mark and several purple stains on the carpet. We made sure to report these to reception immediately due to the $300 AUD bond fee, to avoid being held responsible. Being close to a lake or river meant encountering mosquitoes and some large flies. We also found spiders in the bathroom, but we managed to catch and release them outdoors. Towels provided were an issue—one was dirty when we checked in, and even the replacement towel the next day had stains. However, the beds were spotless, which was a relief. Service: The front desk staff were excellent—friendly, thorough, and accommodating. They explained all the amenities, including the location of the gym and pool, and handled our late checkout request graciously. Facilities: Although I didn’t personally use the gym or pool, the in-room facilities stood out. The smart TV was a bonus, with access to YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video, ensuring entertainment for the family. Room: The two-bedroom apartment was incredibly spacious, with two bedrooms flanking a central living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, complete with an exhaust fan to keep the heat out. The beds were the highlight—so soft and comfortable, providing an excellent night’s sleep. Overall: While the initial issues with bugs were unpleasant (I dislike insects), once we cleared them out, the stay became very enjoyable. The spacious layout, serene environment, and cozy beds made it a pleasant experience overall.
