"What a great place to stay in the medina in Fes. The staff where so welcoming and helpful with getting around the city and even booking day trips to nearby places.
The rooftop gives a good view over the other rooftops and is a great place to try the complimentory breakfast if its not too cold or raining.
This Riad is a little small, but being in the middle of the medina that should be expected.
Overall a great place to stay while checking out Fes and I definetly recommend for any others considering staying here."
"Anyway, it's a recommended inn ★★★★★
Mint tea and sweets service on arrival and the room were very nice! The wash basin is fashionable, the lighting is nice, there is a dresser, and the breakfast is delicious!
And after checking out, I was able to keep my luggage and I had time until the taxi came at night, so I was wondering what to do, but I was allowed to wait for a long time at the entrance hall. .
I was very grateful for that alone, but in addition to the service of tea and sweets, it is a really kind and recommended inn ◎"
"The hotel located just in front of the train station, very convenient. The staffs were very helpful and kind. The room was clean. We recommend this place for sure!!!"
"The hotel room is clean, the bathroom is large, the breakfast is delicious, with a variety of varieties, there is freshly squeezed juice, there is an outdoor swimming pool, the front desk service is very good, and you can introduce local guides."
"The hotel is comfortable and clean, and it is quite quiet. The location is a bit far from the ancient city, but the taxi is not expensive. You can get to the ancient city for 20 yuan. The surrounding facilities of the hotel are also quite complete, there is a big supermarket, and McDonald's."
"An excellent hotel, spacious, clean and very comfortable rooms, international TV channels (including TVE), magnificent buffet breakfast, indoor parking (40DHM) per night, extremely friendly staff, located next to the shopping center and Macdonald, in the Same Boulevard, easy to get to the Medina,"
"We were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Volubilis. We hesitated to book the hotel because of some bad reviews about not having hot water and the staff being unfriendly (especially to Asians). But we decided to book anyways because of its location and quite affordable price.
We were arriving to Fez at around 5pm, and we were told staying at the Medina wouldn't be worth it. Since we were catching a flight the next morning, we thought it would be more convenient to stay in the new city. So, despite some of the bad reviews, we decided to spend the night at Hotel Volubilis.
Its location turned out to be great. It's right at the center and by the main avenue. There are lots of places to eat at walking distance and there are several Carrefours closeby also at walking distance.
The staff was nice and they welcomed us well and took our request for a taxi to the airport in the morning. So, we have no complaints about the staff.
Our room was big with a terrace. The room was old but clean. The terrace had no table or chairs, but it was okay.
The bathroom was also big and we had no issues with the hot water. We showered at arrival and in the morning and water was hot and with pressure.
The thing that we missed the most in the room was a fridge.
Other than that, all good and acceptable. Though we agree with the other comments saying that this is not a 4-star hotel by ”global” standards."
"If you’re staying in Fes, I recommend you stay here. Staff are super friendly and helpful, room clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself as a great traditional Moroccan feel. Mohammed et al. made us feel very welcome.
The location is great, walking distance from medina mazes. Brilliant stay and enjoyed Fes very much."
"What an amazing Riad! Staff super sweet and helpful, great decoration and rooms, super breakfast in the garden and, if you drive, parking 3 minutes away. 10 min walk to the Blue gate and the busy area. The lady at the reception gave us a map and detailed information for our visit to the medina, she is super helpful. Definitely raccomanded for your stay!"
"Very beautiful restored riad. Everything in the interior is made by craftsmen from Fez: carved decoration of ceilings, walls, carved furniture. Beautiful as in a museum and at the same time everything is comfortable. Excellent breakfast on the terrace. Wonderful staff. The only thing is that the Medina is not so easy to navigate. It is better to warn the hotel in advance about your arrival so that you can be met outside the walls of the Medina."

JJeffrey-NgLately renovated charming Riad located at the heart of Chefchaouen. 5-15min walks to any photo spots or interest spots. The up but also slightly down side is exactly this as well: It’s located at the middle of everything so it’s on the mid-mountain with stairs: Think twice if you are traveling with heavy baggages. The staff are very nice to offer help up and down but it’s still a kinda hard core mini hydrox lol.
GGuest UserTucked away in the labyrinth alleys of the Medina, Riad Algila transports one into a world of tranquility & elegance. The riad's meticulously adorned courtyard with gentle tricking of water from the fountain, swaying green trees and intricate tile work serves as a peaceful sanctuary from the bustling city outside.
Our 2 day stay was nothing short of enchanting. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, adorned with traditional Moroccan decor with modern amenities, provided a luxurious retreat after a day of exploration. The staff always attentive with insightful recommendations, made all the difference to our stay.
Riad Algila truly embodies the essence of Moroccan hospitality offering a respite of calm and beauty amidst the vibrant tapestry of Fes.
VvoiletteThe 14th century house, the building itself is very beautiful and amazing. Breakfast is on the top of the building, the scenery is great, and you can see a large area of medina. The room facilities are also good, basically have everything they should. But the old house also has problems. The soundproofing is too poor. There is a room on the second floor that can be heard up and down by the elevator, and the noise in the aisle will be loud. It was already evening on the day of arrival, and when I entered the house, I rushed into the smell of disinfectant water. The biggest breakdown is that there are 4 power jumps in 2 nights. This kind of thing happens in such a house is really scary. When the staff said that this had never happened before, it made people feel even more terrifying. The traffic is fairly convenient, you can park nearby, and you don’t have to drag your luggage for too long. But this location is actually quite far away from the regular old city activity area, and the shortcuts in the old city don't dare to go at night. We wanted to take a taxi on the side of the road at about four or five o'clock. It was difficult to take a taxi. It seemed that the taxis were full of people. Leaving in the morning, I had to take a taxi to the CTM station. Since it is difficult to call a petit taxi at this location during the day, I asked the front desk to help book a private car. It takes about ten minutes and 100dhr. If you know you have been killed, you can only use this method.
The girl at the front desk is very dedicated and feels like she is sitting there day and night. If you have any questions, just ask her, but it makes people feel that pushing dinner and spa is a bit too much, but I don’t say anything if I refuse. Woke up the morning before leaving and helped us pack breakfast.
MMarkBRAVO! Jamal and his family have transformed their ancestral home into a place that we (and other visitors alike) can call home in Fez. From meeting us at the main road and escorting us through the narrow lanes of the medina, to joyfully serving us breakfast each morning and a sumptuous dinner on our final evening, Jamal and family were super accommodating and friendly.
BBuruxujiadeshuikuWhat made me very unhappy was that on the first morning, I knew that the B&B did not include breakfast, so I had already walked to the street when I ran into the boss, who stopped me and asked me why I didn't have breakfast, ”It's included”. Confirm it's included again and again, and then go back to the B&B for breakfast. As a result, when I left the store, I received an additional bill of 100 dirhams. The boss said it was your breakfast. Isn't the question repeatedly confirmed included? The boss began to use sign language to excuse him from not knowing English, and used Google to translate it into his language, and began to pretend that he was illiterate and unable to read.
I'm very, very, very upset about that. It is not a matter of amount.
GGuest UserThe contact person is so nice that helped us arrange city tour and transport to another city. Even though we had to leave at 8, which was not the breakfast timeslot, the house keeper prepared food for us to take away. We had so much fun here.
GGuest UserThe Riad is right for the price. It's centrally located at the Medina. I got the room at the rooftop. No lift, only a narrowed spiral staircase. You have to carry your luggage up & down. If you are elderly and have issues with your back or knee problem this place is not for you.
If you need to talk to the owner of the Riad you have to watsapp him if you have any concerns. I had an issue with my door lock. Luckily, they quickly addressed my issue & changed my door lock immediately.
AAshrafBadranThe hotel has very good location 5 minutes walking to Burg Fes Mall and near to the old city , staff at the Reception very friendly (Ms Hanan) also at the main restaurant, food whatever for Breakfast or Dinner are very good and enough, don’t like to forget the Housekeeping ladies are excellent, but the hotel now under maintenance for the rooms and some outlets
I can give this hotel 6 - 7 from 10
