Does the fragrance of coffee brewing at 6:30 help start the day? Do hot eggs and sausage provide energy for chilly mornings? After work, does music sound welcoming by a fireplace in a lobby? Does the taste of local seafood chowder and creme brulee sound delicious? From the check-in desk to the elevator lobbies, and rooms, awesome glass art is exhibited, along with the artists' inspirational quotes. Some artists are from all around the world; some are Tacoma's fine artists, skilled in locally producing art using techniques learned from Murano, Italy. Quiet rooms remind weary travelers that, ”Silence is golden.” Sweet dreams and wishing you, too, many happy Murano Memories!

We spent the night because we were visiting the University of Puget Sound, and it was a convenient location. The room fit our needs, but I don’t think I could stay for more than one night. It’s really basic here - including their restaurant. Dinner menu was the typical pizza and stuff, and breakfast was stuff that they thawed out and heated. One easy thing they could do is require a dress code at their restaurant, because frankly restaurant employees wearing T-shirts just doesn’t seem professional. The room itself was ok - bed, basic flat screen TV, small but functioning bathroom with a shower curtain. The shower water seeped to the bathroom floor with water, but easy enough to wipe up… Just not excited about this place.
I'm not used to the city but when my family came to the Courtyard Marriott Downtown we were immediately welcomed. Not only were we able to get check in by the desk quickly and successfully we enjoyed the restaurants in the area as well as the Waterfront near the Museum to take the kids on the hot summer day. Front Desk agents never instructed us about our room getting service system goes at any time and without no Housekeeper supervisor help as I asked the Housekeeper in the hallway named Carmelita for assistance. Although she was very preoccupied with her other assignments; she insisted without question to refresh our room; she even asked if we wanted new sheets on the bed!! What amazing customer service; I was truly surprised but utterly impressed. Thank you so much for your assistance. Food was delicious at the bistro with a calming atmosphere; busy elevators but the stay was overall enjoyable.
We stayed here from August 5th to the 7th.... All we have to say is DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!! Its under MAJOR remodel and the street construction of removing a old railroad track AND outside construction made it very difficult to rest. Other things. 1. they have sketch tables that your are supposed to check in.... 2. They have no security. A street person who carried a skateboard kept trying to get on the elevators with us and I refused to let him in. 3. They had NO keys of any kind and you had to go down to the temp front desk to get them to walkie talkie a janitor to let you in and out of your room. We never got a key after they said that they were down only temporarily. 4. There was construction going on everywhere. The 3rd floor parking had construction materials and construction crews cars parked all over. Plus the gates were kept open all day and night allowing homeless people access to guests cars. 5. The ”free” breakfast that we were supposed to get was held in a small conference room that had plastic sheeting on the windows outside and construction people and equipment all over the place. 6. There were a couple of nice employees however their pictures in their website are nothing like you get there! 7. We NEVER got a print out of our bill........even though we asked for it. WORD TO THE WISE PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.................UNTIL THEY GET THE HOTEL FINISHED! BE WARE!!!!
Free parking Free parking Free parking, the room is very good, not far from the highway junction, there is a steakhouse in Australia nearby, super delicious!
I want to thank Kayla Wilkins and her staff at the La Quinta Inn in Tacoma for the great time we had. Kayla directed us to Jill in Catering and Lori for room reservations. The staff was friendly, caring, and helped in so many ways with all of our needs We had great food, and had so much fun in the ballroom for dancing . i
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Room/bathroom was clean and, had a full size fridge and kitchen. Customer service was accommodating and pleasant. Laundry room has 4 washers and 8 dryers! Very, very, convenient. Our 2 full beds had clean sheets/pillows and was comfortable. Only issue was the dish network kept losing signal but, I don't blame the hotel for that. Over all experience was exceptional and we're vary satisfied during our stay. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the staff (especially Dazza) for a great customer service.

Children's Museum of Tacoma
1137***66Its free to enter but they accept donations. We were 3 adults, 2 kids and donated $20 which was much cheaper than going to the zoo or other kids areas. The museum overall isn't very big in general but the layout they have makes it not feel cramped even with 50 kids. They have lockers to store your belongings, stroller parking and a small cafe. My only negatives are that parking can be hard to find depending on the day/time you go and there is no dedicated nursing area for mothers if needed. I personally don't mind finding a place to nurse but I do know some mothers would be more comfortable if there was some privacy.
Tacoma Art Museum
TTodemmyThe museum is located in the center of Tacoma. It is a beautiful building. We visited the Impressionist exhibition. It was done well. We also visited the Chihuli and the North West. It was exciting to see the paintings and sculptures of Monet, Degas and Renoa. Parking behind the museum is easy. I will come back often.
Greater Tacoma Convention Center
1137***66This place is a monster! There is parking around but it's a bit clustered. There is also a parking garage at the actual convention center. During the Arnold event, traffic around the building seemed to flow smoothly as well. There are lots of food places inside, WiFi, and lots of lounges. I will add anyone and their brother can wander the streets. There was a homeless guy asking people for money while we were there. So if you do have a carry permit! Rock on!
Point Defiance Park
东东张西望望东西The park is very large, and there are zoos and aquariums in the park, but you can't go in. There are not many tourists, and there is no entrance fee. The scenery inside is still good.
W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory
1137***66【Scenery】After breakfast, my husband and I went to Wright Park. I haven't been here since the century plant bloomed many years ago. It's so beautiful inside, wandering on the trails! Warm in winter.
Museum of Glass
小小思文The Glass Museum is a large building. The museum itself is very distinctive. The glass structure is also very representative. Many of the creative shapes look very interesting. It is a great place for taking photos. I like it very much.
