Great hotel, there is no pharmacy inside the hotel or in the surrounding area, bring a first aid kit and Doliprane.
There are plenty of activities on offer at the hotel and on the beach, a real all-in, but nothing around.
The hotel is magnificent, the service is impeccable, the cleanliness, nothing to complain about
The city is 30 minutes by car.

Large resort in an isolated position (35 km from the town of Sal Rei) but on a long, white beach. Three swimming pools and free sunbeds also on the beach with the shade of palm trees. Lots of people but just try to avoid the busiest times for lunch and dinner (the food is of medium quality, especially suitable for Nordic customers). Excellent cleanliness and friendliness of the staff.

This is a lovely hotel, fairly modern and nicely laid out. The food was good with lots of choice, but it's real asset is the staff, who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

We went on holiday to RIU Touareg in August 2024. Despite being an apparent 5 star resort the rooms are tiny and open plan, giving no privacy to the shower or toilet. Every time the toilet is flushed it fills the whole room with the stench if fermented sewage. Cockroaches were everywhere including around the food areas and in our rooms, see the attached picture. And finally the food itself was poor, the quality of which is probably worse than a throw in the oven type of pizza etc. Every restaurant is a buffet and there was no point in booking one of the specialty restaurants as everything they serve is in the main restaurant, they merely have a smaller selection of choices. Don't bother. It may say 5 stars and you may think you are getting a good deal as it is "all inclusive" but this hotel is quite literally cheap!

We have just enjoyed a pleasant week at the Riu Touareg. The stay was good overall but not without a couple of hiccups. Initially we were in room 1228 in the adults only section. Word of advice please don’t waste your money. The rooms are tired the pool was dirty and there is one small bar. The only other benefit was you have optics in your room which we didn’t touch. There wasn’t many children at the hotel during our stay and it isn’t worth paying the extra 50 euros a night. To make matters worse we had a storm bug infestation which was really bad. Hundreds of bugs in the block and rooms which lasted a couple of days. Some of the rooms in other blocks have been refurbished. Blocks 9 & 3 have much nicer rooms with a modern feel to them which is what you would expect from a five star hotel. We got moved to block 3 which was not in the adult only area and the rooms are a lot better. Very torn with this review as some parts of the Touareg are superb like the grounds, the food and the staff. The staff are great and really go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after. The grounds are lovely. The food selection and the quality is probably amongst the best we’ve had. Other parts of the hotel are not so good. The large pool has black scorch marks on the bottom where the tiles have been repaired. The towels are paper thin. The entertainment is average. My overall opinion is the hotel is showing its age and is tired in places. It’s not average but not great. Would we return? Unfortunately not.

This is not a 5 star hotel but it is a 6 star value for money . Been before cannot fault the service from start to finish the staff work so hard and are so friendly. There is so much choice of food and of good quality went to Asian and Italian had no problem booking into them . Rooms cleaned everyday they clean constantly all round hotel . Entertainment staff are great always something going on if you want to join in . Always entertainment in evening karaoke bar is a great laugh . But most of all this hotel is in a beautiful setting right on beach which goes for miles if your after a nice quiet holiday or being entertained this is the place to go

Amazing holidays, staff really friendly, good food, the animation team was amazing and always interacting with the guests. Staff on the buffet were always looking and cleaning the tables and asking if we were OK. Rooms are on a good size and clean everyday. Recommended

Stayed for two weeks with friends, had a lovely relaxing time. Lovely room with a sea view, cleaned daily to a good standard. Main dining room has lovely freshly prepared food with plenty of choice.
