Water Garden Sigiriya

We would like to thank Water Garden Sigiriya for hosting Unforgettable Sri Lanka for High Tea. It was truly spectacular and an experience that will stay with us always. Unforgettable Sri Lanka has visited Water Garden Sigiriya on previous occasions and it never disappoints. As soon as you arrive and see Sigiriya Rock, you will be awestruck. The grounds are peaceful and the accommodation is spectacular!

Our stay at Water Gardens was magical! We stayed with our two boys are 8 and 10 and it was a perfect family stay. A really relaxed, peaceful feeling to the place, food was amazing, the kids loved the pool. The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to look after our 2 fussy eaters and make sure there was always something for them to eat. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Sri Lanka

This is the second journey to Water Gardens as we've quite enjoyed the luxury villa with punge pool the first time we visited there. Interior is exquisite and modernized as well as well equipped with all the necessities including all peripherals. Food was great and staff was welcoming. Overall a unique experience we had in a quite while.

Beautiful serene location and immaculatelymaintained proprty. . All the staff were so nice and accomdating and nothing was too much trouble. The standard villas are huge and clean and the pool is amazing to chill out for a few days. My only disappointment was the food. The Sri Lankan food was delicious but anything from the western menu was not great. Trying to be inventive with too many flavours and just didn't get it right. Apposite saw 4 elephants on the road to the and from the property so that was a huge plus!

As a family with two small kids we loved the serene atmosphere and welcoming, thoughtful staff. Food was delicious and the venue with the lush gardens in the middle of the ancient ruins is indeed magical. We will certainly try to come back again.

I went with my family to the Water Gardens Sigirya hotel during the August holidays. We spent two nights at the hotel. You are greeted at the lobby by the General Manager and the front house lady, who is properly groomed. The service at hotel, is excellent. First day of the trip, the food tasted pretty average, but after complaining to head chef, the food was tasty and we had a wider range to choose without having to select from a set menu.

We enjoyed an amazing pool villa in magnificent surroundings! Accomodation, staff and facilities all 5 star. We celebrated our 30 year wedding anniversary during this trip. All staff, including personal butler Shashi worked hard to enhance our stay with lovely personal touches, such as a pair of pearl earrings to symbolise the anniversary, a lovely hand made card, wine, cake and many other kind and considerate personal touches. Whilst we had our own pool, we also visited the great hotel pool, conveniently located next to a wonderful hotel bar. The upstairs of the open air bar has a balcony where you can have an incredible view of sunset with an ancient temple as a backdrop, simply stunning! Our travel agent selected this hotel out of many. The hotel is close to famous temples and national parks and has all the amenities you could ask for, yoga, gym, great food and so much more. However, the main reason for this part of our stay was to experience "The Gathering" which is large herds of elephants in the wild. This was a bucket list item and did not disappoint. We saw hundreds of elephants, with mothers feeding babies and rare elephant with tusks. We choose to have our own guide and vehicle. We arrived in the afternoon around 3.30pm as the elephants were waking up and ready to feed. This is a "must do" journey for animal lovers. The temples are also awesome, but for me the elephants were everything. There is so much to do in this area. Whilst we stayed two nights, three would of been better as we would have had more time to enjoy the hotels facilities including more time in our amazing villa. A huge thanks to all the staff at Water Garden Sigiriya, we had an amazing stay and hope to return one day.

This hotel is the best hotel we have stayed in Sri Lanka. The exceptional hospitality provided by David and his team transformed our three-night stay into an unforgettable holiday. Our chalet was impeccably clean and the private plunge pool was a luxurious touch. The hotel's stunning design offers breathtaking views of Sigiriya Rock. The surrounding nature is equally impressive, with a variety of birdlife, including peacocks, and the residents of the lake - four harmless mugger crocodiles. The culinary experience was outstanding. The Sri Lankan dishes were some of the best I've tasted, a testament to the chef's skill and passion.  The chef regularly interacts with guests to ensure their satisfaction, and we also had the pleasure of meeting General Manager David on several occasions. His dedication to guest well-being is evident in his frequent interactions with visitors, a hallmark of a truly exceptional hotel. Every member of the staff, from housekeeping, butlers, restaurant staff  to the front desk, contributed to the overall warm and friendly atmosphere. Customer service in this hotel is exemplary.  We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. It's a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and unparalleled hospitality. We were disappointed to leave after 3 nights, next time we will stay longer. Big thank you to David and team for making our stay memorable, we will be back.
