This is the best hotel we stayed in this trip. The service is top notch, the front desk opened door for us, took over our luggage, greeted us with big smile and hot tea. She even took our luggage to our room and showed us around. The breakfast is free and very tasty, bottled water is unlimited, which is very helpful. This hotel also host foreign passport holders. I would strongly recommend you to try this hotel if you ever decide to travel to Dunhuang.

This is probably one of the best hotels I have been.
Clean, comfortable, close to everything, very nice staff. Have everything you need in the room. They leave you presents in the room, have all the free drinking water you need, free apples, just excellent welcome feeling.
They go as far as pointing the shower head to the side everytime they clean the room so you don't get wet when you turn on the shower. More expensive and luxurios hotels have a lot to learn from these guys. Just excellent.

The hotel is very close to Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring and can be reached in ten minutes on foot. The room is very special, like living in a cave, with a soup pool, very novel and very experience. The best thing is that there is also a washing machine. I am sweating when I come back from Mingsha Mountain. I can wash my clothes and dry them in the yard. It is really intimate.
The hotel service was also very attentive. We returned to the room very late after visiting Mingsha Mountain. We called the front desk at 12 o'clock in the night and responded quickly.
There are certainly shortcomings. If you mind that there is no natural light, it is not recommended to book, because the cave-themed room has no windows. In addition, breakfast is a bit far from where you live, and there are not many choices.

The camping location is surrounded by desert. It is very therapeutic to enjoy the desert scenery while riding an off-road motorcycle. It is quiet and comfortable. The tent is very clean. Be sure to wear beautiful clothes. Taking photos will give you a sense of luxury. Remember to take your belongings with you so that your companion’s phone can be found in the desert. Comfortable and clean bedrooms.
Very well located, next to the crescent moon scenic area, also in front of the outdoor show and 3 mn far from the town center by car.
There is a shuttle bus to go to the town center and to the airport.
The staff at the front desk welcomed us very warmly, they are really nice and helpful.
The buffet breakfast is delicious and tasty, it is located on the roof top with view on the desert.
I strongly recommend you this hotel.

MmarkVisited Dunhuang on several occasions before but Bowen Hotel is the best considering its rating and price. It's a 4 star and only 150 CNY per night. For this you get a well appointed comfortable room with a view of the river. The rooms are well set out with plenty of space, power points and light switches where they are needed, and a stable reliable and secure wifi signal. The Hotel is situated about 300m east of Dunhuang museum. So, still within walking distance of night market main street, bars, memory box cafe, bus no.3 to Mingsha etc
The bathroom is good quality with a glass enclosure for the shower unit, which has lots of space. The hot water system is responsive and strong, over 24 hours (-10°C outside). Good quality towels and a floor mat are provided and replaced each day by the effecient room service staff.who keep rooms spotlessly clean. The queen sized bed is super comfortable- not too soft or too hard. The double boutique room also has a coffee table, sofa and matching foot rest.
I especially appreciated the gym on floor 7. Limited but useful equipment (treadmill, weights). Another useful feature is a laundry service - also on floor 7. I was fortunate enough to interact with the hotel manager, (who communicates in English very well) and she arranged a taxi late at night to Liuyuan. Overall a pleasant hotel experience in a great oasis town. Will definitely stay again and recommend.

LLouise J RI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it is great value for money and the room is comfortable. My only negative comment would be that as a non-smoker, the room was a bit smelly, but I left the window open for a day and it aired out nicely.
Every single person working at the hotel were extremely kind and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and convenient. They even helped me to post some souvenirs back to my house that I couldn’t fit in my suitcase. I was travelling alone and it can be a bit intimidating to travel away from major cities with my less than conversational level of Chinese, but I was made to feel so welcome and I am very grateful for the amazing hospitality.
The location is fantastic, walking distance to a lot of nice places to eat and the night market. There was a cheap and decent gym within 8 minutes walking of the hotel and nowhere was too far to go by taxi.
For foreigners, I recommend taking the taxi to Doujiaduncun villagers committee to take your PCR test. It’s about 5 minutes by taxi and they can help deal with PCR tests for foreigners who don’t have access to the QR code. You must go back the next day to pick up the results. The people at the testing site are also very helpful.
I loved my visit to Dunhuang so much, the landscape is incredible and the people here are so nice. I will definitely come back again!

BBerrrrrrrrrWe got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly.
Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also.
Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area.
The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out.
I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

The pharmacy, supermarket, restaurant downstairs, and the Chinese Medicine Hospital opposite the hotel are very convenient for Baoma and friends with the elderly! GGuest UserI was quite nervous after reading the reviews before coming here, but because it is very close to Youjian and Mogao Grottoes, and I had to catch a flight, I still booked this place. After arriving, I was really surprised. This is probably the largest homestay I have ever seen. The indoor environment is really great, the room is clean, and the main thing is that the boss cooks delicious dishes. I was very happy with the food. After eating, the boss treated me to a local white melon, which was super sweet and delicious. After chatting, I learned that the previous bad reviews were all made by the previous boss. Now the boss has been changed and the overall renovation has been made. It’s really great. I will come here again next time.
