Ich bin eine gebürtige Essenerin und kenne deshalb das Hotel schon ewig. Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof und mitten in der Stadt. Die Zimmer sind je nach Kategorie geräumig. Ich finde es toll, das man die Fenster öffnen kann. Auch die Betten sind bequem. Frühstück gegen Aufpreis, dort gibt es allerdings Verbesserungspotential. Trotzdem 100% Empfehlung

The building is nicely furnished. It looks like a breeding plant. The entrance area is depressing, no attractive furniture or other furniture that give a guest even minimally the impression and feeling of being in a hotel. The mattress (at least in my room) is over, the room was rather modest. The bathroom and the room were clean. The walls are bright and I must say the room neighbors had a satisfactory evening or a satisfactory night. The price of € 70 for one night to the second is rather too high for this ”hotel” but experiences cost money.

We were there for a weekend and felt very comfortable. The room was fine, as was the service and breakfast.
There was always someone to contact who was available to help and advise.
However, the behavior of some guests is sometimes puzzling to me. Hotel employees are just that. Employees. Not personal serfs.
In my opinion, it is absolutely reasonable to wait your turn instead of immediately calling for more ”staff” and the manager.
Like every other guest, we were informed when we checked in that, due to sustainability and high energy costs, the room is only cleaned and refilled every third day. If we were missing something, we just had to let us know. We thought that was OK.
Other guests apparently didn't. I don't know how you can use up 2 rolls of toilet paper in less than 24 hours, but I know that you just had to ask nicely. Then the employees would have been just as nice to provide the guest with more rolls.
Not listening and not reading, followed by loud outrage, is not a good combination.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights for a trade fair. I absolutely cannot agree with the previous speakers here. Everything was fine with us. The room in the main building was clean and well maintained. The hotel had problems with TV reception - we were made aware of this in advance and it was not a problem for us as we spent very little of our stay in the room. The television should work in the annex building - if desired we could have switched to it. The breakfast buffet was rich and delicious. Fresh fruit and chopped vegetables, a small selection of fresh rolls and various spreads and toppings and much more. You could choose soy milk as an alternative to milk. The service in the hotel was very friendly. A small drawback - our room was not made after the first night. Wasn't a problem for us as we were only staying for two nights. Maybe we just overlooked something here and it really wasn't included. Maybe these are also corona rules that we didn't know about. But as I said... Not so wild for us. The hotel is super centrally located - the city center, a large shopping center and the subway can easily be reached on foot.

Beds and housekeeping were great, staff friendly. Airco broken in both our rooms. We’d seen a review that someone also had problems before. Should have been fixed or worked on. One fridge did not work. Breakfast okay but more than an hour before it closed, some products were not stocked anymore because it was ‘late’. A la card dining was not possible on several nights due to there being ‘bus-guests’ who got a walking buffet. Bar often not visibly open, no snacks available other then wasabi nuts.

I stayed here for a month whilst working in Essen. Receptionist friendly helpful and spoke excellent English. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was dated but clean and spacious and included a fridge. I was thankful for the air conditioning as the weather was hot at the time of my stay but would have preferred a sheet instead of the thick quilt. Breakfast was the standard offering but a rip off at €21 - you get a far better and cheaper breakfast at similar hotels. There’s a bar and an evening menu but this wasn’t always open however when it was the barman was great to have a chat with and get some local knowledge. There’s power sockets by the bedsides and WiFi was good. Location is good being just a 5 min walk to the underwhelming and disappointing city centre. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the metro which offers great value and for a fee of €9, gets you anywhere, although this was during a summer promotion. As a resident you get access to a gym across the road. The house keeping was at times quite poor with surfaces not wiped down. Overall a convenient place to stay but in need of modernisation which I think is a possibility in the future.

Nice hotel. The lady at the reception/bar was very friendly and working very hard. The lobby is nice with some cosy chairs and couches. Rooms are simple , but clean and really quiet. Shower had a decent water pressure. Breakfast was tasty, good variety of food.

The procedure, exclusively digital and personally, is customary and not ”my thing”, but for that you get a nice room for little money. The suite in 4. The floor was large, clean, well and modernly furnished and very quiet despite the location in the center. Only two sticks did not work and the water flow in the washing basin was almost completely stuck. Normally, you would report this at the reception, but unfortunately it was not available.

GGuest UserThe hotel is just a few minutes from the Philharmonie U-Bahn station or just a 15 minute walk from the main station and hence very nicely located. The staff are very professional and gave me a good welcome. The room was very well-kept and for the price, a good size. Excellent WiFi coverage at good connectivity speeds. Overall, a very nice stay in a very nice hotel.

GGuest UserBusiness travel for Euroshop. Liked my stay and did not feel as formal as a hotel. Breakfast was good, warm breakfast was ok but got boring after the 3rd day. Staff helpful. I will go back to this hotel. Taxis and trains close to hotel. Rooms clean and bedding nice white linen. Good experience

GGuest UserDas Stay Hotel ist eine Preiswerte Alternative um in Essen zu übernachten. Zum Bahnhof und zur Stadtmitte mit seinen vielen Restaurants und Bars sind es nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß. Sauberes Zimmer ausgestattet mit Flach TV, Klimaanlage, Wasserkocher mit kostenlosen Kaffee und Tee Angebot. MANKO: Leider gibt es keinen Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Und auch das Boxspringbett ist gewöhnungsbedürftig!! ( Sehr weiche Matratze). Das kleine Bad hat nur eine Milchglastür zum zuschieben, so muss man sehr vertraut miteinander sein muss. Sehr lobenswert ist allerdings das Frühstücksbuffet!!! Es fehlt so gut wie an nichts und auch der Kaffee ist Excelent. Auch das Personal sehr ist sehr freundlich so das man das Stay Hotel bedingungslos Weiterempfehlen kann.

Wow. What a trip that was to the Essen Spiel convention. And what an excellent hotel we have had the luck of booking a room into. Everything was top notch. We were given a room on the second floor, right across the elevator, in room 226. That was indeed super convenient, since for soundproofing, the windows were always shut, and I'm a smoker, so it made my outside trip to the smoking area easy. Everything in the room was where it should be. Plenty of sockets to plug our electronics in, a desk to put our convention stuff on and make our plans for the following day. Water pressure was spot on in the shower, all-in-one soap was naturally provided in a dispenser and filled daily. Room cleaning was done super meticulously in the morning and the cleaning people were nice and attentive when we happened to stumble upon them. All the staff we ran across were super nice and kind, even though we were always bugging them with annoying and trivial matters. The evening shift at the bar and reception really tried their best to satisfy our bothering demands. Hats off to them for putting up with us. I feel that we may have indeed tested their patience's limits. Despite all our best - or worst - but unintended in honesty - efforts to piss them off, they didn't even lose their smile. Great job, everyone! The cherry on top was the hotel's decision to open up a big room full of tables and chairs for the Spiel attendees to pass the night once the exhibition day was over. Really thoughtful and it's one of those small details that win people over. I'm looking forward to returning to the convention next year, and I'm sure I will be booking a room in this hotel alongside my plane and convention tickets. Keep it up, GHOTEL!

Unspeakable treatment, experience never experienced (fortunately), in many years of traveling abroad. 2-night stay for business, booking made (knowingly) with overnight stay only. After the first night, I have breakfast, stating the room number. It was pointed out to me that breakfast was not included. I reply ”fine, I'll pay for it (obviously!). Result, in the evening I return for the second night, and I can't access the room, because the 6-digit code in my possession no longer seems to work. At the reception, they tell me: yes , the code has been changed, because the breakfast was not paid for. At this point, I maintain my fair play, but inside myself I think: but how are these things here? Are the extras no longer paid at check out? pay extras from time to time? They're afraid that I'll run away without paying (even though they have a room already paid for, credit card details, company details...). Crazy stuff! I would have liked to leave the hotel at that precise moment Shameful treatment.

Convertised living house Hello-hearted windows poorly isolated rooms ice cold (in the evening and in the night heating runs to 0!) Bed deck too thin and kine extra deck in the room photos NOT correspond to the rooms! photos of L rooms are shown at M! On all portals. Rooms M as small (not possible to leave bags open!) as S, only varies in size of the bed. Deco on photos not available In reality Not clean (bathroom: urine traces at the toilet, fungus in the shower), gum at kitchen door, flirts on the table and bathroom door. Despite agreed early check-in the room was not ready No shower gel and shampoo No depot area in the bathroom No towels for example unpacked, old tea bags sticks behind bed, not useable. Extension cable was not available Although there were rooms available on portals, I was told when asked for a change, the hotel was completely located ... Location - though cheaply located to the railway station, But through the drinking hall in the neighborhood also some strange ”designs” in the street .... I was professional, but not because of a fair in food, but despite the fair - the price for these rooms and these services was an absolute bucking price. College has been charged here for €40,00 and more is not worth this hotel / room! Positive: fast internet Nespresso machine staff struggling for a further stay emir is offered an upgrade, but I will not be in this hotel return

GGuest UserWere in this part of Germany on business, stayed here for one night. The hotel was chosen due to the availability of spa. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna, steam cabin, solarium and gym, if you wish, you can arrange in advance for a time for a massage session. For ethical reasons, I did not take a photo of the pool, as there were always people there, but the photo can be viewed on the hotel website. We were given a two-room suite for 3 people and a dog, and at first we booked a comfort room for 2 people, then our circumstances changed, another person and a dog were added. By the way, the hotel accepts dogs. On the phone we changed the booking to 3 and a dog. A two-room suite is essentially two separate rooms connected by a common door, one of which corresponds to the description of comfort, and the second room is a simple room. But even though there was only one kettle for 2 rooms, there was tea, coffee and sugar for 3 persons, the price of the room fully corresponded to the price of such a combi, that is, they didn’t charge us extra, from the side of a simple room there was even a bath, and not a shower cabin, as in Comfort room, in general we liked everything. The only negatives are the pillows are a bit thin, don't hold their shape, even 2 weren't too fluffy and the content of the minibar that was included in the price. In addition to 2 large bottles of mineral water, one of which is in each room, we had 4 bottles of drinks and all different. That is, there could be difficulties in their distribution. The hotel has 2 restaurants - one for breakfast, the other is open all day a la carte. For breakfast, a buffet, we included in the price, there was everything at breakfast, even melons, watermelons and pineapples, but not were only sausages and salmon. And the omelet was a bit dry.
