Stadthotel Engel

The hotel is the first hotel recommended by the famous Ettlingen Piano Competition Organizing Committee, because it is very close to the organizer. But this hotel does not have air-conditioned rooms in the nearby hotels. We booked 6 nights on Ctrip because we didn't know it; when we checked in, we were informed that there was construction nearby and we couldn't rest. Couldn't sleep that night because of the heat. Because of the competition, we had to change hotels. In desperation, I chose to leave the store early. Engel Hotel refused to negotiate, and directly charged us 90% of the room rate for the next 5 nights. Is there any reason for the hotel? Europe has encountered such a long period of high temperature weather, so the 620 RMB per night hotel did not do anything in terms of luxury room equipment. Besides, I checked every night because the location of the hotel is better, and they have refunded the 5-night room we refunded to the hotel. It was successfully sold at a high price. Is there such a heartless hotel party? ? ? Still not negotiating? The hotel price we set can be checked out in time at 5 o'clock in the morning on the same day. Even if there is any problem, it will only affect the sales on the night of the 6th. Why does the hotel deduct the customer's 3,000 yuan together? The hotel did not provide service. There was no air conditioning after check-in that day, but there was a lot of noise. The hotel thought it had nothing to do with them. Also unapologetic! Where is the service in this hotel?

Aufgrund eines Messebesuches in Karlsruhe haben wir dieses Hotel ausgesucht. Der Ort Ettlingen ist ganz besonders schön und es gibt eine Menge zu sehen und zu machen. Es gibt diverse Restaurants und eine breite Auswahl unterschiedlicher Geschäfte. Mit dem Bus waren wir in unter einer halben Stunde bei der Messe angekommen. Das Hotel selbst liegt recht ruhig und macht einen sehr guten Eindruck. Das Zimmer, das ich beziehen durfte, lag unterm Dach im dritten Stock und war sehr geräumig. Ein sehr großer Raum mit Raumtrenner, ein großes Doppelbett, eine Couch, zwei Fernseher... Alles war ordentlich und sauber und der Stil gefiel mir gut. Das Personal des Hotels war freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles lief reibungslos und professionell. Der Frühstücksraum war für die Anzahl an Gästen meines Erachtens ein wenig beengt und das Frühstück selbst überschaubar, aber qualitativ einwandfrei. Für fast 180Euro pro Nacht hätte ich allerdings ein klein wenig mehr Auswahl erwartet. Insgesamt hatten wir dort einen entspannten Aufenthalt und konnten nach den langen Messetagen runterfahren und abschalten. Klare Empfehlung!

Wir waren bereits schon mehrere Male im Stadthotel Engel und sind immer sehr zufrieden! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Es ist gemütlich und liegt ideal in der Altstadt von Ettlingen. Es ist alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Tiefgarage ist auch vorhanden.

Mooi hotel, het ontbijt was erg lekker en het personeel was erg enthousiast en de avond dat we aankwamen stond er een hele aardige dame aan de receptie die zelfs heel goed Nederlands sprak. Ze beantwoordde vervolgens de hele avond al onze vragen en we wilden een extra kussen dat meteen werd opgelost. Topi

Ich möchte gerne eine außerordentlich positive Bewertung für die Hotelrezeptionistin abgeben, die während meines Aufenthalts tätig war. (03.07.3023 18 Uhr Anreise) Ihre Professionalität, Freundlichkeit und Hingabe haben meinen Aufenthalt zu einer außergewöhnlichen Erfahrung gemacht. Von Anfang an fiel mir ihre herzliche Begrüßung und ihre positive Ausstrahlung auf. Sie war stets bestrebt, meinen Anliegen und Bedürfnissen entgegenzukommen. Egal ob es um das Einchecken, das Buchen von Zusatzleistungen oder um Empfehlungen für lokale Sehenswürdigkeiten ging, sie war immer äußerst hilfsbereit und kompetent. Die Rezeptionistin bewies außerdem ein bemerkenswertes Organisationstalent. Sie schaffte es, die Anfragen mehrerer Gäste gleichzeitig zu bearbeiten und dabei stets einen ruhigen und professionellen Umgang zu wahren. Egal wie stressig es hinter dem Tresen war, sie behielt stets ihre positive Einstellung und vermittelte den Eindruck, dass sie sich um jeden Gast persönlich kümmerte. Darüber hinaus war die Rezeptionistin immer zuvorkommend und einfühlsam. Sie nahm sich Zeit, um meinen Fragen und Anliegen geduldig zuzuhören und mir dabei das Gefühl zu geben, dass mein Wohlbefinden für sie höchste Priorität hatte. Ihr Service war stets von einer persönlichen Note geprägt, die meinen Aufenthalt noch angenehmer machte. Insgesamt möchte ich die Hotelrezeptionistin für ihre außergewöhnliche Leistung und ihre herausragenden Fähigkeiten loben. Sie ist eine wertvolle Mitarbeiterin, die das Hotel Engel durch ihre Professionalität, ihre Gastfreundschaft und ihre aufmerksame Art bereichert. Ich kann sie wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich bereits auf meinen nächsten Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel, in dem ich sicher sein kann, dass ich erneut auf einen so qualifizierten und herzlichen Empfang treffen werde.

Great location in the super-charming center of Ettlingen, was there 3 times. 1x in the main house, 2x in the annex building. That was the last time. First of all: please look at my profile, I don't tend to give bad reviews and I travel quite a lot - in Germany and worldwide. OK - Conclusion: Condescending, super arrogant check in on June 13th. around 6:30 p.m. No go. Mega tight parking garage, but you can live with that. Rip-off in the next building! The management will answer (or not) that I chose the cheapest room and that they are making "improvements". But: the room is worth 70 EUR, not 112 paid ;-) The rooms there are "youth hostel standard", "seniors' home" also fits. I don't know why I did this to myself for the second time. My mistake, clearly, I didn't see any reference to "outbuilding" on the homepage or I overlooked it. Industrial carpet and 80s design, no refrigerator, shower in the bathtub (oh dear), no body lotion etc., shaving mirror not available; The house and the corridors are very uncharming, the elevator is a disaster (hospital-like), no feel-good factor for at least 112 EUR per night for a single room without breakfast. That's just too expensive. In addition, there is still (June 2023) a Covid mask notice in the breakfast room: “You are welcome to wear a mask”. I brought this up at reception because I have my opinion on this matter. Answer: we “have to” do that. Which is actually not true. The receptionists then argued around instead of saying that it was their property right. That would have been the end of it for me, instead I would have been bossy and fussed over. Very bad briefing. Apparently the management of this hotel is extremely Covid-savvy, even during the time of the government-mandated Covid measures I wasn't even allowed to get a café here while wearing a mask - as the only guest in the empty breakfast room. Ridiculously German. I definitely won't be coming back and recommend to anyone who is still interested to make sure they don't have to go to the terrible annex - for this price.

neat hotel in the center. The welcome by a lady was extremely cool, also at the settlement. Shame in this industry. The breakfast was subpar. Too little bread. Several guests wait after asking where the bread is. Basic error. Several unlabeled jars so we didn't know if this was jam. So we had hardly eaten anything that morning. We were probably a little too much in the holiday mood. But neat room in cozy city.

Our family booked "one bedroom" type "quadruple accommodation consisting of 2 bedrooms". On the reservation service site, the description includes a photo with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed in the same room. Prepaid: 393 euro for 2 nights (excluding parking). When we arrive, we discover a car park with very narrow spaces: everyone must get off (except the driver of course) before parking the car. At the reception, Mr. Thomas Schall (the owner) treats us rudely, as if we bothered him. Two independent rooms are distributed to us. We show him that it does not correspond to our reservation. He then becomes arrogant and rejects all responsibility (even going so far as to claim that the fault lies with the booking service!). Here is what we discover in these 2 rooms (catalogued “deluxe double room”): - Glasses are provided… with dry traces of saliva on the edge of the glasses, visibly unwashed. - Each room is very small, very dark. - The "desk" can hardly be used for work: too shallow and no adequate lighting. - Some mood lamps do not light up. In the very miniature room which serves as a shower room and WC: - Glasses, placed on the washbasin, show traces and dry reliefs of lips, visibly not washed either. - The door handle is sticky, leaves yellow marks on our cleaning wipes. - The door closes with great difficulty. And finally the most shocking point... We go back to report to Mr. Thomas Schall the problems of hygiene, door and lighting. With arrogance is added contempt. We then inform him of our intention of imminent departure; he doesn't give a damn and just says "OK, bye". No word of apology.
