Premier Inn Farnborough West (Southwood)

We always stay at Southwood it's very convenient for visiting our family and friends and touring the area.There are also lots of places locally to discover.

Great hotel, with nice service and a decent breakfast. The rooms desperately need air conditioning as they can get unbearably hot and stuffy. Although a small plug in fan is provided for the room, this wasn’t enough to keep cool.

Temp was 23 on thermometer no AC the floor fan was filthy and did not move air and very noisy struggle to sleep

Good Bits were that the towels and bedsheets were clean, water was hot, the tv worked although clean towels and room cleaning had to be asked for specifically at reception or would not happen. The building is dated for today’s standards. Smells like old carpet, as an additional bonus I was met with 2 large dead wasps on the floor in my room which was not a great surprise after a long flight. No Air-con whatsoever which didn’t help as the room was roasting hot and the small fan you get does not help. Food was made by the brewers fare next door. Breakfast had a good variety was served buffet style and was hot and edible. If you are considering Items on the main menu for lunch and dinner I would suggest to go elsewhere.

Location was good just a 10 min drive to the airport. Room was clean and functional but unfortunately the usb port never worked. Food and drink reasonably priced and good quality. Staff friendly and accommodating although minimal at very busy periods. Overall great stay would return and happy with the cost.

Arrived at 5.15 to find our 2 rooms were not available yet as they didn’t have enough staff for housekeeping. Receptionist was helpful and got us into one whilst the other one was being cleaned. Once in rooms no complaints every thing was lovely.

I took my elderly father to the British motor show and this hotel was booked several months in advance purely on its brand and location to the show at Farnbourgh It was as expected for PI and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub was fine with food and drink experience but needed more staff....2 serving. The hotel was full as expected

Room was far too hot due to lack of air con, curtains were broken, and the place wasn't particularly clean.

Booked this hotel m without checking any reviews as Premier Inn has always been good for us previously. On our way to this hotel we stopped for dinner and my daughter decided to look on here at the reviews. After reading lots of average and some very poor reviews we were quite anxious about spending the night here but I have to say it was fine. Definitely not the best Premier Inn I’ve stayed in and was a little tired in areas. Check in was easy and the young man on the desk was very welcoming and reminded us to put our car reg into the screen (we had already seen the quite sizable signs telling us to do so). The room was clean and made up as requested for a family and we all breathed a huge sigh of relief (especially my daughter who was threatening to sleep in the car!). Considering how busy the car park was and we assume this was mostly hotel guests, I was surprised how quiet it was. Yes there was the usual inconsiderate noises from other guests - loud talking, stomping feet, doors slamming, etc but on the whole was nice and quiet with no road or noises from outside. The beds were clean and comfy, except for one of the ‘kids’ beds which didn’t have a mattress and was not very comfortable at all! We had breakfast in the adjoining Brewers Fayre which had a good selection of hot and cold options, self service/all you can eat buffet style which is always popular with us! Again staff were friendly and welcoming.
