Heyward Mews Holiday Homes

Arrived to find office locked no host to let us into house we booked No response from any phone calls we placed Had to pay more money that we had not planned on and find new accommodation. Very disappointed and unhappy Would never recommend Heyward Mews to anyone . Disgraceful .

7 heyward mews, one word, Disgusting. The heating wasn't working, rubbish left out the back of the house, hot rock holes in the sofa, broken toilet seats, filthy oven, filthy fridge, broken drawer front in the kitchen, outdoor furniture broken and could not be sat on. Dirty sheets, betting slips dated 2 weeks previous found under the pillows in one bedroom, litter under beds, holes all over the walls, the list goes on, when I complained the host apologised and said she would sort it, then I sent all pictures with a list of complaints and asked for a partial refund and was ignored by her. Went through travel nest who advertised the property for her and was told "no refund" my son and nephew have asthma and the lack of heating alone was not good for their health. Unfortunately we had no other option to stay and try to make the most of it. Never again, I would be totally embarrassed renting a property out to somebody in that state!

The house is in a rural setting which is lovely and peaceful but 3 km away from any public transport so you need a car or taxi to get anywhere. The manager never even met us to hand over keys they were just left in the door. The house itself is spacious but very dirty and uncomfortable. All the fittings are very tired and worn or not working and in need of replacement. There was thick dust and cobwebs on light fittings, in radiators and in corners. There was mould in all the showers and the shower door didn't shut in the en suite in the master bedroom, shower door seal in twin room bathroom has perished. The wheelchair accessible bathroom was absolutely disgusting, dirty floor, rotten skirting boards, mouldy floor and wall tiles, cold water tap did not work. Not fit for purpose!!! The double bed was so uncomfortable, you could feel the springs through the mattress. Same with the twin bedded room. The curtains had stains on them. All bathroom extractors were covered in thick dust. Cracked floor tiles in the bathrooms. Windows upstairs didn't close and were thick in cobwebs. We struggled to lock the patio door (security risk). There were sticky finger marks on kitchen cupboards, light switches and sockets. All of the cutlery and crockery needed cleaning, they en grained with old food...... Disgusting! This property has great prospects with some major changes. These being changing the fittings, having regular maintenance and someone who actually does the cleaning!! Also needs better customer service with reception staff who are in attendance. Definitely will not be returning.
