The front desk and restaurant staff were very professional and polite, especially the female employee who helped us check in. She carefully explained the hotel facilities and local tours, and was very attentive and worthy of praise.

This hotel is classed as 4star boutique and seems to get good reviews so I was looking forward to staying there. But from the moment we arrived I felt disappointed. First impression we got was a hotel with large lumps of its wall fallen off. We were kept waiting for our rooms and when we did move in the room was tired and dirty. The shower mat was disgusting, holes in the curtains and stains on the lampshades. When a complaint was made the receptionist didn’t seem to care. The food was nothing special and drink prices were expensive, so we drank out of the hotel for the three nights we stayed there, which was a shame as one of the best bits of the hotel was the veranda and it’s beautiful views.

hotel was nice and we enjoyed are holiday.Not all staff were very friendly some could not even look at you when passing. couldn’t see how it’s a four star.breakfast had a lot to choose from .Bed was so comfortable. room was spacious.towels were changed everyday if you required.bed made daily but in my opinion cleaning was not to a high standards.floors were dirty how we found out are feet were black from walking around on are first day .balcony wasn’t cleaned we had bird 💩 that had been there for are two weeks stay.they have a lot of pigeons landing on the tables and balcony so totally understandable your going to get bird 💩 but it should be cleaned daily .table I cleaned myself daily . We did not say anything we wanted them to do what was expected and not because we complained.pool area and sun beds didn’t seem to be cleaned got sun cream over them.we was woken up a couple of times not because people were loud it’s because of the wardrobe and draws opening and shutting ,they creek .wouldn’t stay again because of the cleaning standards in room.must say that reception and dining room and toilets in reception were immaculate.

This was our third visit to this hotel…although the last time was 10 years ago! The hotel really doesn’t seem any different than it did then, and even some of the staff are the same, which says a lot! The staff are very friendly and helpful! The hotel is spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are a generous size and feel spacious. We only had breakfast at the hotel but there was plenty of choice and the quality was good. The hotel is close to the Forum shopping centre which has a good supermarket and there is a good bus service into Funchal as well as the hotel shuttle service. If I had a complaint it would be that the hotel public areas were extremely quiet in the evenings, making the place feel a bit sleepy, but I’m sure plenty of people like that!

I will start by saying the staff are brilliant and are very helpful. However the hotel is dated/old fashioned. a lot of the rooms could do with a facelift. The views, even sea views are spoilt by a large play park which contains pools childrens play area etc. This is NOT part of the hotel but is very noisy. We have no beach . The walls are paper thin so a noisy neighbour can keep you awake all night. Food is same although we only had breakfast. I was glad to leave and we love Madeira. I would never go back to this hotel. We had one couple arguing on one side and others drunk and shouting on the other.

What a lovely hotel, most relaxing holiday. Hotel is immaculately clean, staff all accommodating and friendly, so much variety of food always on offer. Spent a lot of time around the pool with the amazing views. When issues with organised trip being cancelled by Jet 2 who forgot to inform us the receptionist went above and beyond to help. Would definitely return, if there was anything negative would say the bathroom was slightly dated, however this does not impact on the holiday.
