Originally, when we first booked half a month ago, we were told in English that we did not want the tail room and wanted a higher floor. We were arranged to be placed on the first floor, and they were told that there was only this family room, and the windows could not be opened. After asking the tour guide and the driver, they said that the windows on the streets of Penang cannot be opened due to any government actions. I only rely on a central air conditioner to breathe, and I can't even sleep well. The sound of worshiping next to me came from the ventilation duct in the bathroom, which even startled me. Around 9 AM, someone suddenly used a room key card to open my room door. They knocked for just one second and, without any inquiry, directly opened the door. The door latch was also disengaged, and the person was about to enter my room. I shouted, and only then did the person close the door. I immediately went downstairs to the front desk to report the incident. An Indian girl at the front desk apologized to me, saying it might have been a mistake by the cleaning staff. However, I believe this is a very serious issue because the basic expectation in a hotel is to ensure the privacy and safety of guests. When I checked out, a Chinese girl at the front desk was quite rude and did not apologize. She only said they would check the CCTV to understand the situation. This oversight by the cleaning staff has caused a significant security concern for me.
