The hotel is situated in old/historic buildings. Very nice and comfortable. Perfect place to stay and have the ‘harbour-feeling’. Nice and friendly restaurant and breakfast. Good possibillities to charge your electric car. That’s really an extra service! Good to know is that the windows in the sleepingrooms (in our building) couldn’t be opened. With warm weather that could be a problem. Also we would appreciate to have some coffee or tea in the room.

This was good hotel, located in the center of Gothenborg where you have good access to almost everything. It was a beautiful hotel with a good interior design. It was clean enough. As a not good point, we can say they don't put slipperies in the rooms that is a little annoying.
Breakfast was perfect with a very good anf acceptable range of foods and drinks.
Parking cost is too much here. It's almost 400 SEK per each day, buy you still have this alternative that park your car in some public parkings, with 10 minutes walking to the hotel and much lower cost.

Scandic Europa is the perfect location to stop if you ate going to a concert at the Ullevi stadium. Located right by the main station. The rooms were adequate and the breakfast excellent. We did have a couple of issues that were immediately sorted out so nothing negative to say. We left very early in the morning, Uber was on time and we were provided with breakfast boxes. Overall a very good choice.

Very nice modern hotel, super convenient location and friendly service! Avalon is on Kungsportplatsen in city center, easy to go around by walk and tram stops are round the corner. Our superior room was nicely furnished, modern design, comfortable beds and huge bathroom. And extra surprise, own balcony. I asked a quiet room and this room really was it. Service at reception and at restaurant was so friendly and attentive. We were first time in Gothenburg and got all the information we needed when we checked in. The breakfast was also good. The Terrace Bar was nice, too and in the morning the breakfast was possible to have outside. Nice! There is a wide collection of art and design at this hotel, we really liked it. We were super convenient and I really can recommend Avalon!

It was a quite wonderful experience to stay at First G hotel in terms of the following, I can actually say I have never gotten this kind of experience outside of Japan in my life. Their services with smiling faces, breakfast especially scrambled egg and a lot of line up of breads, convenient location to take almost all trams which will take you anywhere in Goteborg, finally entire performance per cost. A beautifully designed hotel with friendly staff. There were so many nice touches and the room (although rather small) had everything you'd expect and more. Stayed here for 3 nights and I wish I'd stayed longer. The breakfast was exceptional, so much choice and the quality was phenomenal. Had a gothic baroque feel to the decor and the location in the centre of Gothenburg was ideal. They even stored my bag and provided me with free coffee after I'd checked out. Incredible value for money too.

This hotel was really nice, a bit hard to find the entrance as its not typically with the reception at det ground floor, and you have to take the elevator up to the second floor. The people in the reception was really nice, they offered a light evening meal for free, and a ”fika” in the middle of the day. They also use rituals products which gives the hotel a bit more luxuray, and it smells amazing. The room was big, the bed was amazing and we enjoyed our stay 😁

Aspenas Herrgard is a great place to have a relaxing weekend. Great location. Right next to a beautiful lake with gorgeous vistas. The room was clean and cosy. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was included and it had a wide selection of items.

I was very impressed by the hotel, it was clean, plenty of towels and bathroom products and I found all the staff friendly and helpful. It was also great to walk inside the airport to get to the hotel. Breakfast, I thought, was amazing. Loads of choices of food and drink. Everything looked fresh. The room looked out over the runway, our family liked to look, I guess it depends on what you like! We stayed here two nights and went into Gothenburg, it worked out cheaper to rent a car for two days than take the airport bus so we parked at the park and ride and used the ‘to go’ app to travel around the city. We did not eat at the restaurant but had a drink. Prices are higher than U.K. My children used the pool, there were clean towels and changing rooms there and they enjoyed it, you can book 24 before you use. Gym looked good but I didn’t use it. I would definitely return but couldn’t stay longer as prices are generally higher than the U.K.

GGuest UserHaving an appointment close by this property has a superb location literally opposite Göteborg central. Great if you are arriving by train, coming by car means that parking is at an (understandable) premium. But, for 395:- a night you get a reasonably spacious garage with direct access to the hotel. The hotel is designed in a square formation with a large atrium in the middle. It's good to be aware that many of the rooms face the atrium, which means your view will be looking out into the atrium. On Friday night the hotel had some event with live DJ and loud (but good!) music - having one of these internal rooms would have been disturbing. The check-in went smoothly, the receptionist recognized my Radisson status and gave us a room overlooking the square (one could see the station from the room!) and it was very quiet (didn't hear anything from the party/event on Friday night). Bathroom was fresh and clean, the shower had decent pressure although it tended to splash water on the floor. The executive room we got was spacious, had a comfy sofa (which didn't feel super clean), very comfortable bed, nespresso machine .. and no shoehorn! It seems to be a disappointing trend for Radisson properties to either have a pathetic small shoehorn, or none at all. The entrance was carpeted which although it had been vacuumed, it felt a little dirty. The rest of the room was wooden floors. The TV looked impressive - a good size .. but it turned out to be quite a dated unit with no accessible HDMI ports, we never used it. Breakfast is not included by default in the rate, and I have mentioned in other Radisson property reviews, this tends to reduce crowding and improve quality significantly. Breakfast was good here, not quite as good as the one in Stockholm, but the staff were overall very good. Didn't have a chance to try the gym or spa, but entering and exiting the lobby area it always felt lively and there was a hub of activity, especially on Friday evening. I would stay here again, and would recommend this property.

GGuest UserTransportation: We arrived in Gothenburg by train. The hotel is about 3 kilometers away from the train station. You need to take tram No. 2 or No. 4 to get there (note that the directions of No. 2 and No. 4 from the train station to the hotel are in opposite directions). ). Taking a taxi with Uber costs between 100-200kr. If there are 3-4 people traveling, the price is similar to that of public transportation. A single bus ticket here is 36kr. Uber prices change at any time, so the range is a bit wide.
Room: We booked a family room that can accommodate up to 5 people. It was considered a small suite. The big bed was separate from the other three beds, and there was a bathroom in between. The room is very clean. There is enough space.
Breakfast: There are many varieties, which is quite rich, but there is no salmon in terms of meat. All kinds of sausages and hams. Vegetables were few, just cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce.
This hotel is next to a paradise, just like domestic paradise hotels. If it is weekends and holidays, there will be many families with children staying. It will be a bit noisy at night and breakfast will be crowded.

We booked a suite at another hotel, But it did not meet our expectations, so I called Opera Hotel because I have stayed there before. I asked for a specific room I always use when I stay at the Hotel (Room 555) and luckily it was free. But the service in the phone and afterward in the reception was exceptional and I will highly recommend it to all my friends and contacts.

GGuest UserI needed to arrange a conference at the same hotel a trade show was being held. Based on a previous experience I thought all would be ok, I was wrong. The hotel seems to work openly against your actual requirements. I'd asked for rooms to be reserved which proved a problem. I'd said from the outset that we'd require a group dinner with menu choices, this also proved to be a problem which resulted in me needing to find a restaurant nearby who could help. Ridiculous that Gothia towers (at it's size) expects a large group to all eat the same meal with no regards to choice, whereas a local restaurant can accommodate you seems strange to say the least. When arriving at the conference rooms I was taken aback that I wasn't able to meet my contact whom I'd shared so many emails. It was a faceless envelope handover and the mention of 'ask at reception if you need anything'. The only positive from this was a lady called Christina who was able to help locate items that had been shipped ahead, I'm grateful for her help. The breakfast room at the hotel was disorganized chaos, find somewhere to sit by yourself and get on with things. It reminded me of an all you can eat option in a hotel in Egypt years ago. An experience I never repeated, much like this event left me with the same thought!

GGuest UserIt's and old building, and you can see that in many things. The hotel is, for a better word, a bit quirky. I had a single room, so it was quite small. The room was very clean, good bed and fresly renovated clean bathroom - nothing to complain in the room. The street outside is busy, but the windows are also quite good. I don't think there is air-con, you have to open the window a bit for fresh air. Might be more of an issue in summer. Breakfast did not have a huge selection of everything, but all they had was high quality and tasty. The hotel staff was also kind and polite. Parking is not perfect, they want to park you car themselves, as they double-park. This also leads to bit of waittime when you want your car.

GGuest UserI’m torn between 3 and 4 stars. I liked the size of the room, the fact that the kids could have their own beds (we had a lofted family room), and the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. It was very nice that we could walk to Liseberg and the Universium from the hotel, since those were our two main destinations in Gothenburg. Breakfast was good. Not the best breakfast buffet I had in Sweden, but still good. There was quite a large selection so everyone found something to enjoy. The breakfast area did get rather crowded and noisy in the later part of the morning, but that’s probably to be expected in a hotel of this size. They seemed very sensitive to food allergies and restrictions, though I don’t have first hand experiences to report there. The maids did a great job cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, and the linens were clean. The room really needed a deep cleaning, though. The wooden floor had engrained dirt and was sticky, the loft staircase handrail felt sticky, and the do not disturb sign was soiled. (It looked like someone sneezed on it.) This hotel was the only one in Sweden where I felt I had to keep my shoes on in my room so my feet didn’t get soiled. That really affected how I felt about my stay. Room cleanliness is very important to me. Also, only one window opened and only a few inches. The other was locked shut. The weather was quite warm while we were there and it would have been nice to open both windows. I didn’t enjoy that any kind of room cleaning or linen replacement had to be requested by 10 pm the night before. I am finding that this is a more and more common trend in hotels but on the other hand it wasn’t the case for the hotels where I stayed in Stockholm and Orsa. I’m not sure that I’d stay here again. Of the three hotels I experienced in Sweden, this is the only one I’d hesitate to return to.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located right near the main shopping area and close to many interesting sites. Public transportation is a few minutes away as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was nice. The breakfast was good and there is a waffle bar available in the evenings. The street is very busy and loud so if you want some quiet you have to close the window (if you're on the street side) but once the window is closed the room is silent. Very good value for the money, I definitely recommend it.

GGuest UserJudging by the good reviews dating 2 or 3 years back, and my recent experience, I'd say this hotel probably suffered from the pandemic. On the plus side, the boat is beautiful, the location good, the welcome warm, and the breakfast was excellent. On the downside, the room was tired and shabby, had not been properly serviced, and the staff were somewhat confused. On an old ship, I'd expect the rooms to be old. But there was no closet to store clothes, just a couple of hangers dangling from loosely fitted hooks on the wall. The furniture was ancient, and the whole room needed renovation. There was only a tiny hand towel in the bathroom, and the trash was un-emptied. The service was also uneven to say the least. It was actually quite friendly, until we were told that the top deck was out of bounds and we had to stay ”inside”. We were not asked to prepay, and there was no-one in reception the following morning. We had to telephone a number written down at the desk to get someone to show up and take our money, and the checkout process took 20 minutes. In short, this looks like it was once an excellent hotel, but at least some of the rooms badly need renovating, and the whole business could do with an injection of professionalism.

GGuest UserStayed for one night in July 2023 with my husband. Check-in was smooth, friendly front desk receptionist explained everything we needed to know for the stay. The room was nice and clean, with the amenities you expect from a city centre hotel. In our room were three single beds, reading lights, a window with blackout curtains, a small desk and chair, side tables, a wardrobe, a full-length mirror, smart TV. The bathroom had a good size shower with good water pressure and temperature, a toilet and a sink. No place to put toiletries, but that was not a problem for us. Breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, sausages and beans, toast, rolls, ham and cheese, various sweet spreads, boiled eggs and fresh-cut vegetables, cereals, juice and coffee. Good selection of breakfast staples. Positive: The hotel is dog friendly, we met a gorgeous labrador at breakfast. So, if you are not a dog lover you may want to check your surroundings. Accessibility can be a challenge at the hotel, as there are steps up from street level to reception. There is a lift but it's small, a wheelchair user may find it difficult to get in and out. The restaurant where breakfast is served is in the basement and consists of several small rooms joined together, and a person with mobility issues may struggle to get around all the nooks and crannies.

It is possible to mix when someone is full, and the kitchen is small but everything is complete. There is a lounge to watch TV. The toilet is the toilet, the shower is separate, and there is also a three-person shower room separated by a curtain. This Linnai hotel is a private owner, between the Youth Hostel and the train station hotel similar feeling, unless its single room is cheap to the price of the Youth Hostel, other times, it is really not recommended. Otherwise, you may not be able to enter the door. There is a reason for their low rating. The single room I lived in was cheaper than the price of the berth, so I endured two nights, the kitchen was completely unusable, there was not enough kitchenware, the toilet was poor, and the bathroom was OK.
5. Gothenburg mini hotel, between the train station hotel and the feeling of home, the kitchen oven is basically bad, and the kitchen utensils almost have plates. Don't live if you can't live. Because the toilet and bathroom are also shared.
