Popi Star

Popi Star offers great value for money if you want to be near Corfu town. We found the rooms spacious and clean. Arriving at 1:30 am we still received a warm welcome. The towels were soft and the bedding was crisp and well made. The buffet breakfast was generous with good variety. The staff were friendly. We are frequent visitors to Corfu and use the Popi Star as a first stop near the airport before moving on to further destinations later in the holiday. We would say as a budget hotel its hard to beat.
Paradise Hotel Corfu

We stayed here for a week as part of an EasyJet package and could not have been more thrilled with the hotel; spacious, incredibly clean, well appointed and staffed by some of the loveliest people. We had two superior garden view rooms and the views were indeed superior! Both had balconies and very effective air conditioning (included in the cost of the room) and the beds were very comfy. Small but perfectly formed bathrooms (with showers) which looked like they had been recently refurbished. Buffet breakfast was also included and was extensive; usual continental fare plus cooked dishes and even cake and baklava! (Top tip for those who like their British cuppa - take your own tea bags and a travel mug so you can make yourself a decent brew in the morning ;-) ) Beautiful grounds, well kept and a fantastic pool (open 9am -8pm) with plenty of loungers and chairs/ tables on the terrace with a choice of shady spots to cope with the very hot weather. The pool bar, serving drinks and a decent lunch menu was very good and fairly reasonably priced (for a tourist location). But what really made the stay was the staff - so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The only slightly disappointing thing was that the restaurant no longer opens in the evenings and therefore the 'Greek night' advertised on the hotel website did not happen. It's also worth noting that Gouvia town and beach is down a *very* steep (although short) hill and across a frankly terrifying road - not so bad on the way down but a bit punishing on the way back up, especially in 37 degree heat! The town itself is quite run down and not the prettiest spot, although several very good eateries and beautiful warm sea to swim in - and seemed to be mostly catering to large groups of Scandinavian students - but this is not the fault of the hotel! Buses run to both Corfu Town and (in the other direction) to stunning Paleokastritsa very regularly, although they are often extremely busy (probably due to the cheap fares). All in all - excellent value for money, a beautiful and friendly hotel and a lovely stay!
Art Hotel Debono

We stayed in this cozy hotel for 10 days. It was more than described. Definitely 4* and actually more. The staff is very friendly. Our room was always clean. Breakfast and dinner were very varied. Local products were also present. The reception gave us all the necessary information upon arrival, including for renting a car and excursions. It was quiet by the pool. You could enjoy a delicious meal at the snack bar. Thank you Art Hotel Debono for giving us a very nice holiday.
Maltezos Hotel

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and the pool is an added bonus. The breakfast was very good with a variety of hot and cold options. Two things really make this hotel. The first is the family who run it and who are so helpful and hardworking. The second is its location, very close to the centre of Gouvia and only a couple of minutes walk from the bus stops from where it is easy to explore northern Corfu.

We travelled in July, and it is a lovely hotel- A small family run hotel. if you do your research, you will know this isn't the most modern hotel but for us and the price, we paid it was lovely. The beds are low and firm, but bathroom and AC worked perfectly. the breakfast was ample - you're not going to get a full English, but we knew that. The Greek style pies were a nice touch. The beach bar is now running separate and very trendy however there is some noise at night so if you are early birds ask for a room closer to the back of the hotel and night owls well it is a bonus for you. I think it's a lovely hotel and for the price it is great value. And of course the team couldn't be friendlier.
Iliada Beach Hotel

When we arrived at the hotel we immediately felt at home, it has a very familiar atmosphere and we were practically welcomed with open arms. Our rooms were quite wonderful, good airco and ventilation. Beds were also fine, you get two pillows and a thin blanket with the option to put on a warmer blanket that was stored in the closet. There was enough space both in the room and the bathroom for me and my sister’s stuff (and we had a lot). We also had a wonderful balcony where we could smoke and look out over the restaurant, which made for some very cozy evening talks. The cleaning service was also great, our rooms were always cleaned around lunch time so as we came back from the day’s activities we could enjoy our clean beds. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel as well as the breakfast service is also great. I am a picky eater myself but there were enough options to choose from. The staff really made this experience extra special though, in our few nights there (6) we bonded with many staff members. They all loved to talk and we made some inside jokes which really made it feel like home. Overall, wonderful experience! Overall: if you love iced coffees by the beach, making new friends or cuddling every single street cat you see, I’d recommend this place.
