We booked for a night while travelling though Grand Forks. There were not many cars in the parking lot so I would assume there were lots of empty rooms but it was a Tuesday night so maybe that's why it wasn't busy. We were given a room jus down the hall from the office but when we went into it there was a bad smell, sewer I think. I went to the front desk and they gave us a different room and it was fine. I'm not sure what we would have done if the other rooms had all been full because we could not have stayed in the smelly room. Although the room was small and the heater was loud it was OK for a one night stay, not sure if I'd want to spend a week here. When we went to check out in the morning and I dropped the key in the key box (there was nobody at the front desk) I heard somebody talking behind me, it was then that I realized there was a screen set up and there were doing checkout remotely. I've never ran into that before but I guess if it's not hat busy it doesn't pay to have somebody sitting at the front desk and not really doing anything. All in all it was an OK place to stay.
